I cancelled another hotel and booked this hotel the night before I stayed. I stayed in Hampton by Hilton in Kunming before and was sure it wouldn’t disappoint. However, contrary to what I read from the reviews, the hotel wasn’t as near to the metro as I thought. There was only one decent shopping mall Gda within walking distance. When I first entered the hotel room, I was greeted by a weird smell. Initially I couldn’t make out whether it was my socks that smelled or it was the room as I was sweating due to the extreme temperature in Hangzhou. As I went in and out a few more times, I was sure it was the carpet that had the stinky smell but after a while, my nose sort of got accustomed to the smell and felt nothing. As it was my last night in Hangzhou and I wouldn’t be in the room all the time, I didn’t make a fuss. Another point to note is: cars were not allowed to park in front of the hotel and if you were to book didi, you have to go to the bank beside the hotel to be picked up. I booked didi a few times and the car would usually stop by the roadside near the bank and one would have to react very fast, especially when you have a lot of luggage.

The hotel very near a metro station, just in front of the hotel, there is a convenience store down stairs as well. The hotel well equipped with AI, Xiao du, we can just control the air-con temperature by our voice commands. Not to mention the room shoes are very comfy!

The hotel offers great service and an excellent location. Although I mostly relied on taxis during my 5-day, 4-night stay, having a subway station right at the hotel's doorstep was incredibly convenient. There are also major shopping malls within easy reach. Fantastic value for money!

The stay was comfortable and the location is excellent—just at a corner of Wulin Square Metro Station . Exit D is especially convenient as it has a lift, which is helpful if you're carrying luggage. Getting from the airport is straightforward: take Line 19 and transfer to Line 2. The hotel is also within walking distance of major attractions—Wulin Square is about 10 minutes away, and the scenic West Lake is around a 20-minute walk. There are plenty of food options nearby, including the Muslim-friendly Houssani Restaurant, which is a great plus for halal food seekers. However, breakfast was very basic, with limited variety and mostly simple Chinese dishes. One unusual design issue was the placement of the sink/wash basin—it was located outside the bathroom, right in front of the room door. This often caused the floor to get wet and felt inconvenient.
