"The location is so bad. For those traveling many cities in Europe and just stopping by Genoa, I would not recommend here. It’s too far from city center or station and very inconvenient to reach. Hotel amenities are so limited considering the is Mercure. While this may not be this hotel problem, but workers in cafeteria are discriminating against Asians. It might be common in Europe."

"1 year old, this converted part of a palace is charming, mostly original, with wonderful staircases, frescoes and hangings. Attentive staff, excellent breakfast, and good location. I stayed in The Orient which is wonderfully proportioned, with a grand canopy over the bed, and huge ceiling heights with the original gilded cornices. An utterly modern bathroom was cut out of the room, which, in my opinion, strikes a wrong note. Uncomfortable deep bath, which takes at least 30 mins to fill, a very slippery, dangerous shower floor (poor design & no handles to grip), and poor lighting over the mirror such that it is hard to shave & do makeup. I think the bathroom detracts from the room's beauty. Nevertheless, I applaud the ambition & would definitely recommend staying here."

"The room is not large but new, modern and clean. On the top floor of the building there is a beautiful panoramic terrace. The staff both at the time of booking and during the stay were very professional and kind. The hotel is 2 steps from Boccadasse in an area with restaurants. The center can be reached by public transport. Highly recommended"

"The hotel is beautiful, especially the restaurant. The room was small but clean, with a small balcony. The hotel is near the train station, so it can be a bit noisy at night. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. There's private parking, which was perfect for our self-driving trip."

"My grandson booked this hotel to surprise his girlfriend ,he is 19 and saved up for this ,paid 997 euros for 4 nights ,stupidly non refundable , he realises now big mistake .Due to unfodeen circumstances cannot now go on these dates 19/05 2026 to 02/06 /2026. That is a lot of money for a young man who has worked very hard for a holiday . The hotel refuses to refund or even part as a goodwill gesture.I have spoken to hotel receptionist and she suggested emailing ,3 emails and no reply ,I find this really bad for a hotel to not even offer anything whatsoever ,he now can’t have a holiday at a later date as he has lost 997 euros .i know the hotel can sell the room on so they are not very nice people to not even answer .It really upsets and annoys me when people are not willing to help. Yes it was his own stupid fault and a very hard lesson for the future . Hope it makes you feel good Marina Place Resort keeping all that money ."
