On May Day, I drove 7-8 hours from Beijing to the prairie. The temperature difference on the prairie is still very large. The tender grass has just broken through the ground, and the yellow and green are interspersed. The homestay is also being renovated and improved. It is said that it will be completed by the end of May. It was almost dawn when I arrived. Thanks to Manager Zhang Wenshuan for waiting and checking in. The next day, we were upgraded to a Mongolian yurt family king-size bed room, which improved the living conditions of our family of five, including the elderly and children. The stars here are really bright at night. There is no light pollution at all. If the weather is good, it is really full of stars.

Beautiful resort in the Xilamuren grasslands, with a mix of traditional yurts and unique modern-styled accommodations. I stayed in both types of accommodation and both were very comfortable. Full length windows offer views of the expansive grasslands in the day, while the yurts also have a unique skyroof design for stargazing on clearer nights. Breakfast was quite simple local fare, mainly porridge with sides like pickles and egg, very filling. Lunch and dinner is not inclusive but there is a large menu that you can order from. The resort also has its own bar! I believe it is open nightly during the peak season of July/August, and depending on guest volumes at other times. The boss Mr Da and his staff were so welcoming and kind. I travelled solo, and they added me on WeChat so that I could easily reach them if I had any questions or needs. Boss Da also very kindly took me to a few local sights and spots, since I did not have my own means of transport (感谢达老板!). Overall, I really enjoyed my stay at the resort. If I were to visit Xilamuren again, Xilamuren Grassland Mongolian Holy Land Resort would definitely be my accommodation of choice.

In order to let the children experience the yurt, I compared prices from several stores and ordered Saibei Pearl. The two 1.35-meter beds are very comfortable, and the bedding is soft and not hard. The sanitary facilities are much better than expected, but certainly cannot be compared with a hotel. The main purpose is to experience life. The boss was very enthusiastic and helped us book a performance at Hongger Aobao at a low price. They have their own horse riding program with reasonable prices. The scenery when we rode to the prairie opposite was very stunning. In the evening, the horses will come out by themselves to eat grass and drink water, and then go back by themselves when the time comes. It is still fun to watch. Finally, I hope the restaurant can develop more varieties. We had lunch and dinner there, and the choices were a bit limited.
