The location is on a small suburban road. We arrived in the evening and wandered around for a long time before finding it. The staff were very friendly and the hotel is spacious. The room facilities are average, and the hotel is mainly outdoor-oriented. We went out early in the morning to look for animals, but there weren't many, mainly forest and bird watching. Negombo and Sigiriya are probably smaller cities, and the top-rated hotels have relatively primitive facilities, focusing on outdoor and nature-oriented activities.

The path from the cottages to the front desk and restaurant is dirt, so it is difficult to walk. I think they need to improve it a bit.

I made a reservation around Dambulla to rest one more day in Sigiriya, and they let me check in 2 hours early. The staff were really friendly, and the owner of the restaurant next to the pool was really kind. They also provided room service, so I was able to rest well. The hotel was spacious, so it was nice to walk around, but I recommend going to the treetop. It would be really nice to do yoga there. I wanted to go to the pool, but there were too many Westerners, lol. They booked a taxi for me the next morning and packed breakfast for me, so I was grateful. The room was the same as in the picture and was very spacious.
We had a lovely stay, everyone enjoyed and had a great time. Loved the way you'll have kept the natural environment undisturbed, as much as possible. I think it's a perfect balance which created a calm and peaceful atmosphere. The food was very tasty. Staff at the hotel were friendly and provided a great service.

Beautiful Location. I was surprised that the hotels occupancy was low. The food was excellent and appreciate and valued their service.

Magical place to stay nestled in the wild forest near Sigiriya and close to Lion's Rock. The staff are wonderful. The layout is beautiful. The pool irresistible. The highlight was dinning at the Tree Tops restaurant: in a private tree house!

No non-sense hotel - good service in general, friendly staff, decent rooms, lots of forest around you as promised. What would have been better was - food. We ordered a few dishes and while some dishes were good some were sub-par. Swimming pool could have been maintained better in terms of cleanliness- leaves were floating on the surface. All in all a decent stay for 1 night.

Good things : Big rooms, cleanliness on point, Staff was very good - they may not be experts at what they are doing, but their attitude was juts great. Always smiling, wanting to help, thoughtful and if a mistake was made , they made all efforts to ensure that they made it right. I have given extra point just due to this. Having said this, hotel is not value for money. Also, the swimming pool wasn’t clean.

This is our second visit to this beautiful hotel. This visit is better than our first visit. Elegant rooms with a picturesque view of the surrounding greeneries. The rooms are spacious. This hotel is a merely a jungle with the chalets secluded within the forest cover. Hence ideal for nature lovers like us. The Tree Tops is fantastic there. Staff is very friendly and attentive. They trusted us and reserved a room for us during the last long weekend (when we suddenly decided to go there and despite the online payment system did not work for us to give them an advance payment). Pool is small, but clean Food is OK to good, but tasty. The final question is can we recommend this place? YES

A place of real tranquility, where one feels at peace as soon as you enter this gem of a property consisting of 44 cabanas to suit one's needs. These are well appointed, spacious & spotless with all amenities in place. From the minute we arrived at Amaara Forest, the welcome we received and how our every need was catered to until we departed, was truly exceptional. The staff believe in traditional Sri Lankan hospitality with their welcoming smile & warmth. For us it was a getaway with buddies to unwind and enjoy serenity in the midst of a forest, which we did to the maximum. For those who love & value nature, this is a "hidden gem" !! The attractions or our heritages such as the majestic, Sigiriya is a short drive and so are the mature reserves that include the famous Minneriya Nature Reserve, where elephants can be observed in their natural habitat. When we left Amaara Forest, after a delicious Sri Lankan breakfast at their famous "Tree Tops" which is built halfway up a tree on a sturdy platform, we were serenaded by a flutist as well. We soaked in the peace and the sounds of nature with gratitude for having stayed in a wonderous place. We left with the promise of returning for a similar experience in the neat future. My kudos to the entire management & staff for our wonderful stay. Wishing this property the very best in the future too. Theruwan saranai to all. Rukshi.

Lovely hotel in the middle of the jungle. Off the beaten track so seek directions for easier access. The staff were fantastic at this hotel. We were looked after well and our room was spotlessly clean. Things I loved: The birds and squirrels; the huge Sri Lankan breakfasts including hoppers and string hoppers; the beautiful pool; the lovely big balcony to spread out and relax on; the enormous comfortable bedroom and great shower room; the forest walks; sitting outside with candlelight for dinner and as mentioned before, ALL the friendly but professional staff who were so accommodating and attended to our every need. We had some lovely chats with Kapil, Thushita and even the CEO who explained his vision for a very natural jungle environment. Suggestions: bikes for ladies please and maybe cut the vegetation back a little bit more from the balcony...
