Hotels in Xidan and Financial Street Area, Beijing

The room is comfortable and the location is great. However, I have three issues worth mentioning: Construction noise  1. Construction noise: There is construction work nearby, and they appear to work through the night. If your room is in stacks 01 to 26, the construction noise may keep you awake. 2. Pillows are too soft and thin : The pillows were quite thin and lacked support. Some hotels now provide two options, such as one memory-foam pillow and one softer/thinner pillow, which gives guests more choice. 3. Lighting in the room : As the room has an open-concept design, it is not possible to switch off the main room light while keeping the toilet lights on. This makes the room quite bright at night and can be uncomfortable when trying to sleep. Overall, the room and location are good, but these points could be improved to make the stay more comfortable.

The hotel is named 'Guohuai' (Pagoda Tree) because of an ancient tree in its courtyard. I was very satisfied with the room; it was quiet at night and the transportation was very convenient. Niujie (Ox Street) is nearby, and after comparing different places, I found that Yue Weizhai has the best lamb skewers, thanks to their dipping sauce. The milk skin yogurt from Ziguangyuan should ideally be bought at the airport so you can carry it directly onto the plane. However, we bought it on Niujie, and at the airport, liquids had to be checked in. It cost an extra 35 for packing and checked baggage, but thankfully, the milk skin was still intact when we retrieved our luggage.

This is a very mature and well-run hotel. What I experienced wasn't just warmth, but rather well-organized and professional service. The rooms are incredibly spacious; I booked a family room and even with an extra bed, it still felt very roomy for the guests. Any requests were handled quickly. When we entered the lobby, the supervisor immediately recognized us. Even though the front desk was busy, the supervisor promptly arranged for staff to assist us. The same goes for breakfast in the restaurant; the staff were incredibly efficient. Despite a large number of diners, they managed to find suitable seating for everyone, and tables were cleared very quickly. Many foreign guests stay here, and even the younger staff were able to communicate effectively, earning praise from guests – I witnessed one guest specifically shaking hands with a staff member after breakfast to thank them. The swimming pool water was also very clean, with daily test results posted. Even those not swimming were asked to wear shoe covers, showing great attention to detail. The two complimentary drinks in the lobby were also delicious. Breakfast was abundant and tasty. It's very close to Metro Lines 2 and 4. The nearby mall, and the 'Fang Zhuan Chang Zhajiangmian' (a famous noodle place) usually has a long queue at Guozijian, but here there's no waiting. Also, Sanyuan Meiyuan and Wuyutai's ice cream are available without queues, which truly adds value to the trip. I am extremely satisfied with this hotel!

Our family came for a trip and saw online that the hotel's location was great, and it truly lived up to its reputation. It's very close to Niujie, where we tried many snacks, especially the test lamb skewers which were excellent. The hotel was quite busy during the holiday, and the kids loved the pool. Alina at the front desk gave us some treats, which made them very happy.

Our stay in the twin room with a window was absolutely fantastic! The high ceilings made the room feel incredibly spacious and airy, with no hint of claustrophobia. Being away from the street meant there was zero outside noise, ensuring a wonderfully peaceful environment for relaxation. The Land Rover mattresses were just right – not too soft, not too firm – providing a stable and comfortable sleep that truly enhanced our rest. The room was equipped with a fresh air system, keeping the air consistently clean, and the bedding was impeccably clean and crisp, feeling lovely to the touch. All the hotel facilities were immaculately maintained and looked brand new, really showing the owner's dedication. The staff were warm, attentive, and handled all our requests efficiently. The hotel's location is super convenient for getting around; taking the subway or catching a taxi right outside saves so much time and effort. I highly recommend this place for your travels!

Staying at the Xuanwumen Business Hotel with my kids was a really pleasant experience overall. The room was clean and spacious, with all the necessary facilities. It was dry and tidy, not damp at all, which made for a very comfortable stay. The front desk staff were patient and meticulous, and check-in was efficient. The location is super convenient for getting around and sightseeing. The hotel breakfast had a great variety, perfect for kids' tastes, and the service was thoughtful and attentive. It's a truly reassuring place to stay when traveling with family. I'll definitely choose this hotel again for our next family trip.

My overall experience at The Westin Grand was excellent. The room was clean and quiet, very comfortable to stay in, and the hotel's facilities were comprehensive. I'd like to extend a special thanks to four outstanding staff members: Grace, Betty, Aimme from the front office, and Yanni from the executive lounge. They were all warm and friendly, proactively offering helpful tips for exploring the area. They were responsive to all my requests and did their best to assist, providing meticulous and thoughtful service with genuine professionalism. It was their dedicated and attentive service that added so much warmth and comfort to my trip. I'll definitely choose this hotel again for my next travels!

Coming to Beijing, staying here is convenient. It's only a ten-minute taxi ride to Tiananmen Square to watch the flag-raising ceremony. The environment is good, very clean, and the facilities are new. They even have robot delivery for takeout. Plus, you can store your luggage for free after checking out. I truly recommend it to everyone!

We are a family of 3 and stayed for 4 nights. Upon arrival the gentleman at the reception, Mr Sun, has been very efficient in adding the extra bed for our room, which was very helpful - thank you! The hotel is at the center of Beijing and very convenient, the taxi can take you right to the front entrance, as well as being close to the underground (just under 100/200 meters) and shopping malls nearby (so we are spoiled with choice of restaurants). There is a very good restaurant famous for dim sum on the ground floor of the hotel and we had our breakfast there😊. The hotel is surprisingly quiet and we had very good sleep considering we had three full on sight seeing days (including climbing greatwall). Very clean/fresh room with powerful but quiet air conditioning which is great relief for hot summer night. I believe the hotel was refurbished not long ago (2 years ago?) so all new and in working order. Overall a lovely stay, highly recommend and we will definitely return in future!

My check-in experience was just so-so. My check-out time and the kids' goodie bag were already set when I booked, but when I asked the front desk, they seemed clueless, like they were new, though their attitudes were pretty good. There were only two front desk staff. I'd read reviews saying everyone got upgraded, some even to suites, so I asked about an upgrade too. The front desk said an upgrade wasn't necessary, just a higher floor. I'm not sure if they were unwilling to upgrade or didn't know how. The shower in the bathroom leaked, and the towels felt old and couldn't be washed white. At the pool, there was only one towel, so if you go, you need to bring your own. Breakfast was average, not tasty, and there wasn't much variety. The next day, when we came back after going out, we couldn't get into our room. I went down to get the card fixed, but it still didn't work. I went down to the front desk again, and the second time, the front desk staff came up with me and fiddled with it for about 20 minutes. They said the key card was low on power. Finally, we got in, and then they called someone to change the battery. It's pretty amazing for a big hotel like this to have such an issue. The front desk staff who came up with me said they'd send some fruit, but they never did. While I don't really need the fruit, their attitude was quite amusing. I went to the rooftop bar to see the night view, but it rained, so I didn't get to see it. The french fries and sweet potato fries weren't good. At check-out, there were many front desk staff, and their attitudes were quite good. The hotel room was also quite nice, and the cleaning was done well. The small tent in the family room was great, and my child loved it. Parking requires a fee. The location is excellent, right next to Joy City, which is very convenient for shopping. The hotel exterior also looks very nice. If the issues I mentioned could be improved, I would consider staying again.
