Kusatsu Onsen-Kusatsu Hotel 1913
"Location is good near the walking street and the staff is very nice"
La Vista Kusatsu Hills
"It was one of the BEST places I’ve stayed at!! I’m a Japanese who’s been to many hotels with hot springs but this place is definitely my No.1 so far. The private hot springs are not that occupied on weekdays so we got to try all of them one by one (no extra charge) and we also LOVED the Hinoki Onsen in our room! The amenities were amazing and in the women’s changing room there were different types of shampoos and conditioners to choose from, which I enjoyed! The breakfast and lounge was also very nice, we can even bring things from the lounge back to our rooms to enjoy. I would 100% recommend this place if you’re visiting Kusatsu!"
Daitokan
"This hotel is super close to Yuda, and the area around it is really lively. The hotel itself is a bit older, and the room facilities are just okay. There's a hot spring on the first floor, but they also partner with two other hotels, so you can go soak for free at their newer locations, which is a nice perk."
Kamenoi Hotel Kusatsu Resort(Old:Kusatsu-Onsen Hotel Resort)
"The location isn't super close to Yubatake; it's about a 10-15 minute walk. However, strolling along the way or taking the hotel shuttle isn't bad at all. Both breakfast and dinner are all-you-can-eat, and the food quality is decent."
Tokinoniwa
"This private onsen (hot spring) is absolutely perfect for shy people! All three private, reserved baths were incredibly clean, and I thoroughly enjoyed soaking in them. However, there was no air conditioning in the room, so I woke up in the middle of the night feeling hot. I had to leave the balcony door open to cool down. It probably wouldn't be an issue in winter, but in summer, you'd have to sleep with the door open. Overall, I'm very satisfied."
Matsumuraya Ryokan
"The explanation of the accommodation and the hot spring was very gentle and thorough. When we arrived in our room, there were manju (sweet buns) waiting for us, and the room itself was very clean. The breakfast was also absolutely delicious! We are extremely satisfied and would love to come back again!"
B/C HOTEL KUSATSU
"When I went to use the onsen at night, there were no towels in the public bath, where they should have been. This meant I had to bring the towels from my room, leaving me with none for the room itself. I also noticed many guests struggling with the shortage of yukatas. However, the room was clean and the large TV made for a very comfortable stay^_^"
Kusatsu Onsen-Kanemidori Ryokan
"An oasis of calm in a stone’s throw away from Yubatake. Getting up here can be tricky if you drive but the staff are standing by to direct your car to the reserved parking lots. Breakfast and dinner were exquisite Kaiseki sets. The indoor/outdoor onsens were spacious and clean, with zen greenery surrounding the baths. Traditional rooms are spacious and cosy, with staff setting up the futons while you have dinner. Great place to stay with delicious food."
Urakusatsu Tou
"This was my fifth stay at this hotel, and I absolutely love this place. Every visit feels special, and I always leave with wonderful memories. Hope to be able to come back soon."

Hotel Sakurai
"This hotel up in the mountains is fantastic, with beautiful surroundings and fresh air. It's especially great in winter when it snows, offering a wonderful snowy landscape. Plus, it's very quiet, allowing for complete relaxation."
Karuizawakurabu Hotel 1130 Hewitt Resort
"Only that we don’t like the poker face staffs in the dining area even she wears a facemask. Didn’t hear our please to assist us. A girl looks foreigner (not Japanese) Hope the HR Management in dining area to train them well."
Kusatsu Now Resort Hotel
"It's very warm in winter, very good👍 Environment: It's about 15 minutes uphill from Yubatake, but the hotel has a shuttle bus🚌, which is coffee-colored. Service: The phone number left by the hotel on Ctrip cannot be dialed."
Kusatsu Onsen Hotel Village
"I truly believe that if you wanna have onsen like locals and this is the place! The room that I booked I thought choose between western or Japanese style and came out to be our room having two. And one jacuzzi. It’s a very big room for two. However it’s old and needs to be replaced for better experience."
Kusatsu Onsen Hotel Ichii
"The location is superb, right by the Yubatake, the most popular attraction. There's also a souvenir shop on the first floor. Although it's an older hotel, the facilities are well-maintained and don't feel dated at all. Both breakfast and dinner are buffet style, with a wide variety of dishes, including some Chinese options, but predominantly Japanese."
Kusatsu Onsen Eidaya
"Don’t be fooled by the appearance of this inn, while the furniture /wooden shelves are dated, it is clean and spacious and comfortable. The rooms are fantastically large, with a living room area with a giant TV and lounging sofa. The low table provided ample space to lay out all the things you need for your stay. There is also a shower and toilet in your room, yukatas, towels, hairdryer, etc. It is suitable for up to 4 people staying together, and also suitable for families. The owner/ staff of the ryokan are wonderfully hospitable and speak excellent English. He introduced himself and explained how to get a private onsen room. He also thoughtfully installed Nintendo games in my room to help pass the time till bedtime, I got super Mario. Onsen: There are 3 private onsen rooms, and a system where a closed door means the onsen is occupied, while an open one means you can use it. The doors are lockable of course. There is no time limit on how long you can use it, or how many times you can use it. Outside the onsen room area is amenities like water and another large sitting area where you can wait for an onsen room if all are occupied. There are wonderful vintage arcade games that are lovingly maintained by the owner, such as Pac-Man. Sleep: The futon beds are a layer of foam mattress above a thick memory foam mattress, which were very comfortable and I slept well. Even though there were children in the room next door, I couldn’t hear them at all. Did not book any meals there so can’t comment on the food. The staff/ owner, knowing that I didn’t book meals, very generously offered maps of good restaurants nearby within Kuwait’s that I could go. On checkout, knowing that I hadn’t had breakfast, the staff/ owner gave me a voucher for free coffee at a small coffee shop n nearby. The thoughtfulness of the staff/ owner is very much appreciated and made my stay memorable."

"Happy hot spring trip"
Manza Kogen Hotel
"A very nice and quiet hotel which suitable for relaxing. Shuttle bus was waiting at the 萬座Bus Terminal at the time of bus arrival."
Kusatsu Onsen 326 Yamanoyu Hotel
"The hotel is clean and near to the main attraction. There is Onsen in the hotel as well The staff is friendly."
KusatsuOnsen AeruyadoTakamatsu
"Got lost on the day of arrival, managed to find a kind tourist to send 1 of us to the hotel for help. A smaller accommodation as compared to it's main. The onsen here is quite small. A few minutes walk to kusatsu town."
Tsumagoi Prince Hotel
"The views were amazing, and the room was comfortable. However, the food options were limited and quite expensive. It would have been better if dinner was a buffet."
Oyado Yukizumi
"Very nice small hotel just a cross street from bus terminal and only a few minute walk to the tourist center. It's worth of money for this hotel."
Kusatsu Onsen Yubatake Sensui
"The hotel's location is ideal. It's about a 2-3 minute walk to the center of Yubatake and 7-10 minutes to Sai-no-Kawara Park. There are many restaurants nearby. All personal care products are from the DHC OLIVE GOLD series, which are excellent. The complimentary Japanese breakfast is also good. The only minor inconveniences are having to change shoes by the reception every time you go out, and the onsen water is generally 51 degrees Celsius, so you need to run cold water for a while to cool it down a bit."
Gensen Ichinoyu
"The location is fantastic, right near Yubatake, and there's a foot bath at Jizo-no-Yu nearby. The hotel thoughtfully provides towels at the entrance for guests to take when they go for a foot bath, and you can just leave the used towels there when you return. You can also grab an umbrella from the entrance anytime you head out. The hairdryer in the room is a standard travel-sized one, but they have Salonia hairdryers in the public bath area, so I always did my hair there. Most of the staff used Google Translate on their phones to communicate with me, and 'Mr. Tanaka' and 'Mr. Fang Zhong' were particularly attentive, polite, and patient. Some of the female staff were also very courteous, though I apologize for not remembering their names. I'm very grateful to all of them."
Matsunoi Ryokan
"The hotel service was warm and the location was nice. However, staying on the third floor meant constantly going up and down stairs to get to the bathroom on the first floor, which was a bit tiring! There was also no en-suite bathroom, which was inconvenient. But the food, including two meals a day, was of excellent quality! And since there was no smoking area, smoking outside wasn't ideal!"
