Amazing
LLizchen SunGreat location right next to the bus station, there is a shop in the same building. The entrance is hidden in an alley and privacy is maintained. A nice friendly girl met us at the reception, brought tea to the room. They provide yakata and very beautiful haori. Excellent breakfast is brought to the room, everything is very tasty. The onsen is small, but there are not many rooms in the hotel, we were alone and did not even cross paths with any of the other guests in the onsen. Everything was wonderful.
GGuest UserThis was my first and only stay at a ryokan so I donât have much to compare it to. I chose this lodging because of the cats and good reviews on the food. The cats were really sweet and I enjoyed playing with them. I have 2 cats of my own so it was really nice. The food was so beautiful and delicious - the mushroom soup at dinner was amazing. I really enjoyed it. The private bath rooms were very convenient and open 24 hrs. I thought the facilities were clean and very pleasant. The location was very close to the central area and a quick walk to all the important sites including the bus station. The only comment I have was in the morning someone was smoking and the smell got ****** into the 2nd floor hallway so maybe more care should be taken to be sure the smoke stays outside. The host was so nice and sweet and I used google translate to ask questions. The matcha madeleines are so tasty I bought a box to take with me.
LLilingshuchiThe entire hot spring town is absolutely beautiful. Since it was newly renovated in 2024, there was no musty smell in the room. The staff were professional, polite, and warmly welcoming without being intrusive, and their English was excellent. There's a shuttle service from the hotel to the station, or you can walk there yourself. This hotel is exactly what I imagined a Japanese onsen hotel to be. The hotel's own hot springs are fantastic. The location is truly the best â some hotels are up in the mountains or require a bit of a walk, but Ichii offers direct views of Yubatake. On the first floor, there's also a large souvenir shop with many unique items that aren't available back home. I'd definitely choose to spend a whole day exploring Karuizawa and then stay at Ichii again!
GGuest UserThe location is very good, the hot spring is also very good, booked including breakfast, dinner, both meals are ordinary, nothing special. The room is large and very comfortable. The biggest problem is that there is no wifi in the room, only in the lobby, no payment. I have seen nearby hotels provide WiFi, want to book Osaka House to accept this point ð
FFionaFengOverall, Kizunoniwa is definitely better than Konoha. Dinner was a delicious Japanese meal served in a private dining room, and breakfast was also good. My only minor complaint was that the rice wasn't quite up to Japanese standards.
The location is quite far out. If you're heading to Ueno Station in the city, leaving the hotel at 9 AM and having a smooth journey, you'd likely arrive around 1 PM. The hotel shuttle takes ten minutes to the bus stop, then it's an hour and a half by bus to Karuizawa, and another hour-plus from Karuizawa to Ueno. The main delays are due to waiting for various connection times.
It snowed on our second day, which was truly beautiful.
I'd love to come back during autumn leaf season if possible.
é é ééHighly recommend staying for two consecutive nights; the outdoor onsen in the snow was amazing! We stayed in a nine-person room, split into two separate spaces, and the rooms were very spacious. The 'one night, two meals' package for two days offered delicious and varied meals. On our last night, we added the all-you-can-drink option for less than 500 NTD per person, which was incredibly good value. Plus, there were free noodles available until 10:30 PM!
MmathemathusMy stay at Kamenoi Hotel Kusatsu was excellent. The onsen was very clean and quite spacious, making it a relaxing experience. The hotel also has a convenient shortcut that leads directly to the Yubatake pedestrian area, which is a big plus.
Both breakfast and dinner were buffet-style with a wide variety of dishes â plenty of options and all very enjoyable. The service was great, and the room was comfortable to sleep in.
The only downside is that there were a bit too few power outlets in the room, but it wasnât a major problem.
Overall, a fantastic stay and highly recommended for anyone visiting Kusatsu.
GGuest UserWe arrived early (about 11:00) at the ryokan and were met by a very helpful young lady receptionist who spoke good English. She accepted our luggage, arranged a ground floor room for us (my wife has difficulty climbing stairs) and recommended us where to eat and what to do. The room was clean and sizeable. The bed was comfortable. The ryokan provided a simple buffet breakfast (much to our surprise and delight). Â It is located just a short distance from the Yubatake and is very convenient. Â Overall, we are very happy with the ryokan.Â
GGuest UserThe hotel facilities are a bit old, but the location is excellent. The front desk even has staff who speak Chinese, and there's a great selection of free yukata to choose from right next to the front desk. Both breakfast and dinner are buffet-style, and the restaurant offers a rich variety of food, including all-you-can-drink draft beer.
