A pousada é bem simples. As áreas comuns são excelentes, mas o quarto 3, que foi o que ficamos não foi bom. Na verdade o banheiro deixou muito a desejar. A janela é de vidro liso, transparente o que nos causou insegurança, já que ficamos no primeiro piso. Tivemos que solicitar uma toalha de banho para que pudéssemos cobrir a janela pra não correr o risco de ter a privacidade invadida. A ”parede” do box não é de alvenaria. Ela é feita de uma chapa de aço e tem gretas que permitem entrada de insetos facilmente. A localização da pousada é excelente! Tem vários restaurantes perto, é bem no centrinho de Paraty, mas o banheiro eu realmente não gostei. As áreas externas são lindas! As cores das portas e janelas são fofas. O café da manhã é bem básico, típico de pousadas, mas tem pães, frutas, biscoitos, bolos, sucos, café, leite, frios. Pra mim não foi um ponto negativo porque atendeu minhas necessidades Só sugiro rever o banheiro do quarto 3

The place is wonderful, the view is too much, it is almost all the landscape, we arrived and were very well received by Mr. Carlos, the coffee is good, it is not chic, but it is very caprichous and tasty. The only reason we did not give the fifth star was the Internet issue in the rooms that on the first and second day simply did not work. I went to warn Mr Carlos and he told me that it was common even if the rooms internet was not as good as the areas, but that he would talk to a boy the other day to re-start the modem and try to threaten our problem. Un lugar horrible, las habitaciones son espantosas, no tienen buena ventilación , no hay ventiladores, si aire acondicionado que es encendido por la noche y apagado a las 8 de la mañana. el estado de las habitaciones es malisimo, los techos manchados de humedad, las paredes cercanas al aire acondicionado están descascaradas y con ampollas . los colchones son viejos , hundidos en el medio, las camas son cuchetas(arriba y abajo) como en todos los hostels. en cuanto a la limpieza de la habitación es mala, los pisos siempre estan sucios, entiendo también que eso tiene que ver con las personas que alli las habitan. el desayuno, recomiendo no comprarlo, te dan: un vaso chiquito de jugo de esos que se preparan ( los de polvo tipo Tang);ni siquiera una naranja exprimida, tres medios pan lactal, es decir, un pan lactal y medio, con un cuadradito de mermelada, uno de miel y otro de manteca. te dan cafe, pero si queres tomar café con leche tenes que pedir la leche porque no la tenes a tu disposicion. yo me quise ir en la mañana del otro día en que llegue, pero no pude hacerlo porque ya me habian cobrado con tarjeta y ellos no hacen reembolso, te dan un número de telefono para que llames que según ellos es ” la central” ( del horror), ahi te dan otro numero al cual llamar. en mi caso, me quite la pulsera que te ponen, según ellos es para identificarte... sin palabras... un dia volví por la noche y un hombre de ” seguridad” no me dejaba entrar porque no la tenia, le mostre la tarjeta de entrada a la habitación y corroboro mis datos y me permitio entrar. pasados unos dias mas, y siendo aproximadamente las 21 horas, él mismo hombre no me permite entrar a la habitación pporque según él yo no tenia la pulsera, intento entrar igual y me agarra fuerte del brazo , para lo cual yo me suelto y ahi empezo otra historia: comenzamos a discutir con un tal Gabriel que estaba a cargo de la recepción, quien intento que este violento quiera agredirme, en ese momento vuelvo a pedir que se me devuelva mi dinero porque lo que ellos ofrecen no es lo publicitado. a lo cual se niegan diciendo que ese punto esta escrito en las condiciones que uno acepta cuando llega a ese lugar. les dije que iría a la delegación policial a lo cual ellos respondieron que yo podía hacer lo que quisiera, pensaban que era solo una amenaza, para su sorpresa , cuando llegue con la policía todos lo que no me respondían cuando yo les hablaba, aparecieron con caras de yo no fui , no sabemos lo que paso, negando todo lo sucedido, para lo cual yo desmentía sus mentiras con los policías ahí presentes, para lo cual ” muy prestos” llamaron a una supuesta gerente quien ante la situación se comprometieron que devolverían mi dinero , sobre los días que no estuve en ese horrendo lugar. en mi argumento con la policía yo les explicaba que en el lugar había ratas y cucarachas, y que el lugar no es lo que muestran en las fotos, POR FAVOR NO VAYAN AHI, LES VAN A ARRUINAR LAS VACACIONES.

I had been hosted 8 years ago and decided to return to remember the hosting that had been good in the past , for my disappointment stay was completely disappointing, breakfast was delayed, there was not even a cheese , I asked a toast to warm the bread and there was no , I went to talk to the hostess owner Mrs. Lidia, who was extremely ignorant with me , I spoke to her that I worked in the hotel area in Copacabana and that coffee was not I had to be spectacular, but that a cheese or a cheese toast was the basic , so she changed and answered me in a extremely cruel and rhythmical way: I don't care if you are from the hotel area, I don't care about your complaint until because many complain and that doesn't matter!!! A pousada é excelente, muito confortável! Ótima localização, próximo de posto de gasolina, dois mercados e várias lanchonetes. O atendimento muito agradável, as recepcionistas informam como chegar na praia de Geribá, ”virei a rua e já estava na praia - Muito pertinho!” Não precisa gastar com táxi para ir para o Centro (Rua das Pedras) basta pegar uma van ou ônibus que em 5 minutinhos estará lá, é sensacional. O café da manhã de domingo foi perfeito com muita variedade e as atendentes interagem com os hóspedes e você acaba se sentindo em família.

Pousada nova, funcionários muito educados e prestativos! Custo/benefício excelente!!! Os quartos são muito confortáveis e tem varanda. O café da manhã é simples mas bom. Fica um pouco distante da praia mas não chega a ser um problema. A capacidade para automóveis é limitada a 3 vagas mas a rua é bem tranquila!!

I was with my husband and my 2-year-old son, we absolutely loved everything. The room was wonderful, everything was clean, the staff very sympathetic and demanding. The breakfast is a good choice, and the restaurant's food is great! My son loved the pool and the kids area, enjoyed the monitored activities.

Excelente la Pousada. El lugar súper bien ubicado, la habitación súper linda, limpia y amplia. Las piscina excelente, una viste increíble. En el resto se come muy bien y el personal de la Pousada súper atento y amable. Recomendable 100% para ir a disfrutar de Buzios

Vi muitas avaliações negativas e estava com receio da hospedagem, mas fomos super bem tratados e nos surpreendemos com a estrutura da pousada. A localização é ótima, fomos a pé a rua das pedras, praia do canto, praia dos ossos, azeda e azedinha. Ficamos no quarto 39, tem muitas escadas mas é espaçoso e recebemos toalhas novas. Pontos negativos são a falta de vagas de estacionamento para todos os hóspedes (tem vagas nas ruas próximas) e café da manhã sem variedade (ficamos seis dias e tinha exatamente as mesmas opções no café).

Overall, the experience at Villa Raphael was great. Pros: Staff, Service, Cleanliness, Ferradura Beach Location, Breakfast. You can tell they put continual effort into painting and maintenance. Cons: Although we stayed in a ”Super Luxury” accommodation (room #11), we were surprised they do not have washcloths and there really isn't a space to hang towels | robe, other than inside the shower which we tried, and they got wet. We would have liked to have a chair in the room because other than the bed, there was no place to sit in the room or the balcony. If you go out from the hotel, you have to ring a bell to be let in which can be a little inconvenient depending on how dark it is or how late it is (note: in August, it is dark by 6pm). Given the proximity to the beach, I understand using plastic for trash cans, soap dish, etc. However, they were a little flimsy and cheesy.

I had a great experience at the hostel. It was in a great location, the front desk representatives were amazing (especially Eric) and the activities were great! My favourite part was the Museum of Tomorrow Tour hosted by Juan Pablo. He not only was friendly and welcoming, but was clearly knowledgeable about Rio. He gave great recommendations about safety and good places to eat. You should definitely book here if you are a solo traveler or with a group!

The staff is so helpful and really care about their guests. They help you with everything. Especially ISABELLA was so nice to me, helped me scan some stuff. I presuaded it a lot! I think, it‘s a good place to base yourself in Rio. It‘s close to the beach and I never felt unsafe to walk around this area alone as a woman. There‘s enough space in kitchen area to meet new people. The rooms are a little narrow, but it‘s okay. Found everytime a free showe or bathroom and it‘s clean. The kitchen is not super equipped, but you have fridges and it‘s enough. I opted for a bed in the 10-bed female dorm at Carneval. Cost me $90 with an official airport taxi but for this uninitiated female solo traveller I just wanted to take the easiest route for arriving late on a Saturday night. Very much a young backpackers place, you will party and you will drink here if you don't go to the 'English' bar across the road which is where I did go and had a grand time chatting to the bar staff who were a bit older than my fellow bedmates (who were all lovely, by the way). It's as clean as it can be for a quick turnaround place, free drinks between 7-8pm and the staff were just lovely. Helpful and friendly. Short walk from the beach. I felt safe wandering at night here and the Metro is a block or so away. Only tiny grumble is that the photos on tripadvisor are not of the Ipanema site; it's a lot, lot smaller!

The best location! Situated close to bars/restaurants/ beaches. Victor was super nice and accommodating. The suit on the group floor was comfortable but a bit noisy as it is behind reception; aside from that the breakfast was lovely and again location was everything.

I booked 2 nights in this place on December 30 and 31 and it costed me $150 the night, where the normal price won’t exceed the $50. I thought the price was in reales but it was in dollars, so I hoped it would be a really nice place due to the price. There was no security box, the wifi was incredibly slow (I had to do some work and couldn’t due it from the room), there were ants over the table, no hair drier, the handle of the door was broken and there was no lamp next to the bed. I emailed the owner and he never responded it. I went to talk to him in person and ask him if he got it but he said he had nothing to say and that the booking was my mistake. I explained all the issues I found with the room and that I was expecting a refund due to them, but he never took responsibility for them and blamed me again for the booking. I was expecting responsibility on the matter. I thought that position was greedy, he knows I didn’t want to book at that price, that it was’t the normal cost of the hotel due to holidays and that I found many issues in the room.

This hotel was wonderful, the service was fantastic for the most part. I say for the most part because I had to wait over 30 minute for a few bottles of water and needed to call twice. Also they don't really know much about technology...I figured out the TV myself and the A/C had a timer set to go off in the middle of the night, I called downstairs, no one came so I figured it out for myself. For a luxury property it would have been nice to have a makeup mirror in the bathroom and a box of tissues ( I bought my own box). One last critic would have been great to have the serve of someone to iron your clothes . We also needed adaptors so we could use our electronics (and my friend with me was from Rio, but still needed one as there was no way to plug in your cell phone charger). One more HUGE thing, the floor in the shower is a bit slippery and there is no handrail, nothing to grab onto, a bit dangerous, no matter what your age and I would have like brighter lightbulbs in the bathroom. On a Positive note (and there were many) Room was clean and bed huge and comfy and quiet at night for sleeping. Double sinks in the bathroom a plus. Everyone was super friendly and breakfast was fantastic. Pool and gardens were lovely, lush and tropical. The ice cream shop Miracolo was a dream, we went for ice cream every afternoon, not to be missed. And the restaurant Pupus was truly exceptional, the service was 5 stars and the food was prenominal. All in all we had a wonderful weekend.

A pousada é linda e tranquila, com um espaço externo muito agradável. O quarto é excelente, equipado com sacada, rede, cama e colchão de alta qualidade. O café da manhã oferece uma grande variedade de pães, bolos, frios, frutas e bebidas. À noite, há também a opção de caldo e lanche para quem prefere ficar na pousada. Muito bem localizada, está a 8 minutos do centro histórico, 10 minutos do cais para os passeios de barco, e de fácil acesso às praias, sendo apenas 10 minutos até a Prainha da Praia Grande, por exemplo.

The guests have a very special service, all very nice and friendly. The various have given tips on tours and where to eat. There is a very tasty breakfast, everything very clean and excellent location! We left the car in the hostel and did everything to walk, because it is well next to the historic centre and travel agencies from where the tours are carried out.
