Osaka Metro Map

Looking at the Osaka Metro map for the first time, I honestly felt a bit lost. So many colorful lines going in different directions, and the station names were not easy to remember at all. If it’s your first time in Osaka, that feeling is totally normal. But after using it once or twice, it starts to make sense. You’ll realize it’s actually simple to follow, and getting around the city becomes smooth and stress free.

❤️Pro Tip: When planning your visit, consider booking flights from Manila to Osaka and Osaka hotels in advance to secure the best rates.

Overview of Osaka Metro Lines

Osaka Metro Route Map

The Osaka Metro system is the main way to get around the city, and yes, the map can look confusing at first. I remember opening it and thinking everything looks the same. But after using it for a day, it actually becomes very easy to follow. Each line has a color and a letter, so even if you cannot read Japanese, you can still move around without stress.

We were upgraded to a suite, which was a pleasant surprise given how spacious it was – quite rare for Japan. It's an older five-star hotel with a free shuttle service to the city center and it's right next to a subway station. The river in front of the hotel offers a nice view too. If you walk about 700-800 meters, you'll find plenty of great food options, especially a noodle shop that's ranked second in Osaka – absolutely delicious and unforgettable!

🌟 **Stunning High-Altitude Views, Osaka's Nightscape at Your Fingertips** The biggest selling point of this hotel is undoubtedly its high-rise location! All guest rooms are situated on the 16th floor and above. We were on a high floor, and through the room's enormous windows, the entire cityscape of Osaka unfolded beneath us. At night, the traffic lights on Midosuji Avenue looked like a golden river, and the distant Umeda Sky Building and Namba's high-rises glittered with lights. This feeling of being surrounded by the entire city was truly dreamy; I couldn't stop taking photos. 🚇 **Excellent and Convenient Location** The hotel is located on Osaka's main thoroughfare, Midosuji Avenue. While in a bustling area, it offers a peaceful retreat. Transportation is incredibly convenient; it's just a 3-5 minute walk from Yodoyabashi Station (Exit 13). Whether you're heading to Shin-Osaka for the Shinkansen or going shopping in Umeda or Shinsaibashi, it's only one subway stop away, or even walkable. * **Shopper's Paradise:** Walk or take one subway stop to Shinsaibashi-suji Shopping Street and Umeda Hankyu Department Store. * **Daily Conveniences:** Downstairs, there's a convenience store (7-Eleven), a drug store, and many local ramen shops and izakayas, so late-night dining is never a problem. 🛏️ **High-Quality Accommodation Facilities** The hotel's interior design is a modern, minimalist business style, very chic. The lobby is on the 15th floor, serving as both a reception area and a sky lounge with expansive views. * **Room Amenities:** For its class in Japan, this hotel offers surprisingly spacious rooms. There's plenty of space to open up suitcases. The attention to detail is excellent; in addition to standard toiletries, they even thoughtfully provide a hair straightener/curler, which is a lifesaver for women! The bedding is soft and comfortable, and the shower pressure is strong enough to wash away a day's fatigue. * **Executive Lounge:** If your budget allows, I highly recommend booking an executive floor room. The private lounge on the top floor offers unparalleled views. The afternoon tea desserts and happy hour cocktails are of high quality. Watching the sunset here while waiting for the night view creates an incredibly atmospheric experience.

This hotel was such a pleasant surprise! A staff member guided us through check-in, and I really appreciate the lady who assisted us – her Chinese was excellent. She politely helped us with our luggage to our room. The location is super convenient, right above a subway station, and there's even a direct bus to Kansai Airport. Staying at such a great hotel made this trip so much more enjoyable and relaxing, and it definitely made me love Osaka even more. Thank you, I'm very happy, and I'll definitely stay here again if I come back to Osaka!

Staying here for three consecutive nights was an amazing experience! The hotel's location is absolutely perfect, right next to a shopping district, making it super convenient for getting around and shopping. The room was spacious and tidy, the bedding was comfortable, and they even thoughtfully provided amenities for children. The breakfast offered a wide variety of options, and my child thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff were all warm, attentive, and incredibly helpful, always ready to assist with any request, paying great attention to every detail. Overall, the experience was faultless. It's definitely our top choice for a family trip, and I highly recommend it – a well-deserved five-star rating!

I booked a deluxe room with executive lounge access this time, and the experience was fantastic. Both the room and bathroom were spacious and comfortable. The best view ever in Osaka! The location is just perfect where all the famous malls are connected with a bridge, it’s just right next to the zoo and big playground for family with kids! Staffs are so friendly and helpful, whenever I requested extra pillow or other amenities, they could deliver it immediately within 10 mins! This is the superb Marriott standard! Love the view! I've stayed at the New Otani in Hakata before, and this time I chose the one in Osaka. Both are equally luxurious and grand, but I found the room's cleanliness in Osaka to be a bit lacking compared to Hakata – there were some stains behind the closet door. The location is super convenient, close to both JR and Keihan train stations. The room was spacious enough, with two bathrooms, which was incredibly handy for a family trip. When we checked out, we made a last-minute decision to take the shuttle bus to the airport. We only had five minutes before it departed, but the front desk immediately called the shuttle service, printed our tickets, and had a bellboy whisk our luggage over. We made it onto the bus smoothly, and I'm very grateful for their quick assistance. The surrounding area is also very convenient; we took a leisurely stroll to Osaka Castle. We even stumbled upon an XG concert tour, with the venue, Osaka-Jo Hall, right across from the hotel! We snagged tickets for 400 yen and enjoyed a high-quality concert. So happy! 🥳

This was my second stay at the hotel, and it was just as clean and tidy as before. The room was very spacious, and the bedding, comforter, and pillows were all super comfortable. There's free coffee in the lobby, and a Lawson convenience store, McDonald's, and ramen shop nearby. The bus stop is about a 10-minute walk away, with direct service to Kansai Airport. All in all, this hotel is our top choice for accommodation in Osaka! 👍👍👍

If you prefer a less noisy environment, this is a place for you. Located in a quiet neighborhood quite closed to subway. There is a convenient store just a few steps away and some restaurants within walking distance. Good breakfast choice, self laundry is easy to operate and staff are friendly. The only downside is the housekeeping only change your towels and dump the trash bins without a choice of bed making. It would be better if choice of making up room is available for guests staying 2 nights or more.

The hotel staff in Osaka are much better. The front desk has a Chinese-speaking guy, and the Indian staff member's English is also very standard. The hotel facilities are complete. The housekeepers who clean the rooms daily are Japanese and very efficient. The bathroom is very clean. There are three elevators for going up and down, but they are a bit slow. On the ground floor, there's a 24-hour large drugstore. Right outside the hotel, there's a standard Japanese Wagyu restaurant which was quite good. There's a Lawson convenience store behind the hotel, and the alley behind the hotel has some nightlife spots and small pubs. As for transportation, Umeda Station is a bit confusing; you need a good sense of direction. Relying on navigation can be tiring, but once you get familiar with it and know your way around, it's very convenient to get back to the hotel. Alternatively, you can take the subway to Yodoyabashi Station, which offers a smoother route back to the hotel.

I stayed here twice within a week, not just because of my itinerary, but mainly because of the hotel's incredibly convenient location. In Japan, major transportation hubs are often also commercial and business centers. This hotel is right above JR Osaka Station and the Shinkansen station, and Hankyu Osaka Station isn't far either. Below the hotel, you'll find Daimaru department store, and familiar stores for Chinese visitors like Muji, Uniqlo, and Yodobashi are also nearby. The hotel occupies floors 19 and above of the Daimaru department store. There are a lot of rooms, and the hallways are deep and long. However, the room size can only be described as cramped. On my first stay, the two beds were pushed right together. The second room was slightly wider, with just a narrow gap between the beds, and the TV on the desk was at most 16 inches. In terms of room rate alone, it's not great value for money, but when you're traveling, convenience is very important, so I'd still highly recommend this hotel. Oh, and the bus stop for the direct shuttle to Osaka Kansai Airport (KIX) at Umeda is also right downstairs.

Location is perfect. Breakfast was perfect. Lounge would be better with more food varieties but they had a lot of drinks options including sake, champagne, wine and beer on top of the usuals which was great. One thing i didnt like is that their rooms are super tiny. We got a triple room and it was so tight. Next maybe two doubles is required for more space. Another disappointment is that they don't provide lotion which i think is a basic amenity. And that every certain hours of the night 10-ish -2am (everyday) you can hear super noisy motorcycles revving in the main street randomly. (I guess that's not directly their fault buy maybe they could opt for a more soundproof window or something.)

The lobby and exterior of the hotel are very atmospheric, and you can also enjoy the sea view of the pier outside. The room interior is quite basic, and the facilities didn't feel particularly new. For 1200, I had high expectations for a themed room, but was disappointed upon entering. It's very close to the film studio. The food at the hotel isn't expensive; I think the noodle and fried rice set for 56 RMB, and the beef bowl for 56 RMB, were the best I had in Japan. I recommend going to the lobby for photos and dining, and staying at a cheaper hotel nearby. The last four photos are from the film studio.

My overall stay was exceptionally good, with excellent service, ambiance, room type, and meals. My overall experience far exceeded expectations. Initially, I didn't have high hopes for the Imperial Hotel Osaka because the exterior photos looked a bit dated. However, my perception was completely overturned after checking in. It truly exceeded all expectations! Even if the hotel's facilities weren't brand new, they were incredibly well-maintained, comfortable to use, and exceptionally clean. Every detail was meticulously taken care of. The service was meticulous and thoughtful, providing a fantastic experience, truly the standard of an established luxury hotel. The front desk staff were gentle and accommodating. One staff member (I believe her name was Kim) was especially attentive, actively helping with luggage every time I went in and out. I stayed in a riverside room on a lower floor. The environment was very comfortable, and the price was not expensive at all (much better than many more expensive design hotels). The bedding in the room was excellent, and I slept wonderfully. The Japanese breakfast offered by the hotel was outstanding in quality, with a well-balanced and palatable selection. The dining experience was just right, without feeling overly full. (American breakfast was also available in another restaurant). The hotel's laundry service is also commendable. Washed clothes were clean and neatly pressed, and they were even carefully organized and tied with ribbons. This level of delicate and thoughtful care is not common even among many high-end hotels. The hotel possesses a restrained and dignified classic charm, with sincerity towards guests evident everywhere. I have high standards for accommodation details, but this hotel still managed to be impeccable. I would prioritize choosing this hotel again for my next trip to Osaka and am also willing to try other hotels of the same brand in different cities.

The hotel staff were also very accommodating and polite, which made me feel very comfortable. I particularly enjoyed the onsen facilities; it was so relaxing to soak in the hot spring after a day of shopping. Plus, the complimentary Yonaki ramen and ice cream every evening were something I looked forward to every day – it felt like a real treat. The only minor downside was a bit of dust in the room. Loved our stay at City Plaza Osaka! We used Osaka as a base for our trip, going on multiple short day-trips followed by a longer stay in Tokyo, with one final night in Osaka before heading home. First room was clean and cozy, second room was HUGE and perfect for repacking our checked bag. Both rooms were comfortable and clean with excellent water pressure in the shower. Plenty of nice cafes and restaurants nearby, so didn’t try the hotel breakfast, but highly recommend Osaka Engine (has gluten free ramen options!) for a delicious meal! This is the best hotel I've stayed at in Japan in terms of value for money, and I've been here four times. While it has some common issues with older hotels, like limited power outlets and dated bedding, these are minor flaws compared to its overall excellent qualities. The location is about 500-600 meters from both the train and subway stations. For this price range in Japan, the room is surprisingly spacious, offering a glimpse of Sakuramiya and a corner of the castle tower. The biggest surprise was the free onsen, which even included an outdoor bath! After soaking, there's a lounge where you can enjoy complimentary drinks, popsicles, and senbei. A heads-up: you might encounter female staff in the men's bath, just keep your cool when they greet you.

I was very satisfied with this hotel during my trip to Osaka. It's not in the city center, but in the Minato Ward, and the hygiene is excellent. There are two subway lines right outside, which is convenient for getting around. Getting to the city center requires one transfer, which was a bit inconvenient for daily outings, but it offers direct access to the airport, Nara, and Kobe.

My teenage boys thoroughly enjoyed the onsen, night ramen, ice cream, and massage chairs. The Dormy Inn is very conveniently located—Kitahama Station (Brown Line) is less than a 2-minute walk away, and Yodoyabashi Station is about a 7-minute walk at a normal pace. Convenience stores and restaurants are also within 1–3 minutes’ walk. Aside from the cold winter temperatures, everything was excellent. There was no room cleaning during our 6-night stay; however, fresh towels were replenished daily. This is a quiet district, and if not for the winter chill, we would have gladly explored more of the surroundings on foot.

The location is incredibly convenient. Fukushima Station is right outside the hotel, and Umeda is just one stop away, making it incredibly handy. There's a convenience store downstairs, a yakitori place right across the street, and even a delicious revolving sushi restaurant on the hotel's first basement floor – all excellent dining options! A pretty famous Oden restaurant (about a 7-8 minute walk away) is also worth checking out! Our family of four had a great rest with the four beds provided. Plus, it's not far from Universal Studios either.

Location: The hotel boasts an excellent location on the Yotsubashi line. It's incredibly convenient for tourists, whether you're coming from the airport or returning after a day of sightseeing, as it's right outside the subway exit. This is especially good for tired travelers, as you don't have to walk far. Facilities: The hotel is somewhat like an economy business hotel. The rooms are small, the hallways aren't very wide; everything feels a bit compact. It seems well-suited for business travelers or solo guests. Service: The service is good. You can pick up amenities you need from the front desk yourself. If you want your room cleaned, you can put up a sign; otherwise, they won't clean it, but they'll leave fresh towels and amenities on your doorknob daily, which is a thoughtful touch. The hotel's highlights are its hot spring and free evening drinks. The hot spring is quiet and comfortable with few people, perfect for relaxing after a long day. For those who enjoy a drink, the complimentary evening beverages can help you unwind and sleep. Food: The breakfast is also good, offering a variety of typical Japanese dishes.

The hotel room wasn't as big as I'd imagined, but it was larger than typical Japanese hotel rooms, fitting two suitcases comfortably. The front desk staff generally communicated well in English, though they occasionally misunderstood requests. The hotel breakfast was excellent and unique, with a wide variety of delicious options. Downstairs, there's a Hanafru dessert shop where you can enjoy parfaits, and a Michelin-starred unagi restaurant, ”Takeyatei.” It's about a 15-minute walk from Shinsaibashi, which is quite convenient overall. The only downside is the noisy biker gangs that cruise the Osaka city center at night; even the hotel's soundproof windows couldn't block out the noise, so earplugs are recommended.

I spontaneously booked this hotel because it was the closest one to the airport shuttle, and I was pleasantly surprised! Here's some info for everyone: **Location:** It's super close to the airport shuttle (a 5-minute walk). Even with 2 suitcases and 2 tote bags, the distance was perfect. It's also incredibly close to major shopping malls and Osaka Station, making it convenient for catching any transport you need for sightseeing. Seriously, it's so convenient! There are plenty of food options nearby too, so you don't have to go far at all. 👍 **Amenities:** They offer complimentary coffee and drinks, afternoon tea, and an evening bar (all free!). The service is just amazing. Plus, there's a large public bath, gym, washing machines, ice maker, and microwave. Basically, they have everything you could possibly need, and if something isn't provided, you can usually borrow it. There's a clear guide explaining all the services. The rooms come with a fridge, toothbrush, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and hand/face soap. In the lobby, you can help yourself to Sekkisei lotion and toner. The bed even has a button that I assume is for heating, because it made the bed wonderfully warm and comfortable. Honestly, everything is so thoughtfully prepared. And, super important, there are tons of charging ports – absolutely fantastic! 👍 **Space:** The room was much more spacious than I expected. I had 2 large suitcases and 2 huge tote bags, and there was plenty of room to open everything. For Japan, I'd say they've made excellent use of the space. All my requests, which I noted during booking, were met. 😌 **Overall:** I originally booked this last minute, simply choosing a hotel where I could fully redeem my Trip.com points. After using my points, I only paid the taxes, so I wasn't expecting much in terms of quality. However, I was genuinely and unexpectedly satisfied! If I were paying the regular price, which seems to be around 400-600 RMB, this hotel would be the king of value for money in the Osaka Station area. If you're looking for a place to stay in the Umeda shopping district, don't even think twice – just pick this one!

The room is spacious and new. The 1.35-meter bed was very comfortable for one adult and one child, and even with four suitcases, it didn't feel cramped for a family of four. The bathroom is very roomy and well-designed, making it convenient for multiple guests. There's a free shuttle bus to and from Osaka Station from 10 AM to 6 PM, or you can walk there in about 15 minutes. The hotel's own small garden has very relaxed koi fish. Nearby, you can get a panoramic view of Osaka from the Umeda Sky Building, and there's a convenient food street underground.

The location is extremely convenient. If you're looking for an old-school hotel vibe, you might find it here, but the facilities are really outdated – I couldn't stand them. The showerhead was in the bathtub and there was no separate shower, which was a real deal-breaker for me. I'll definitely stick to newer hotels from now on. I originally booked a W Suite and arrived at 12 PM hoping to secure a high-floor room, but was only given the 8th floor. So, I paid more to upgrade to a Marvelous Suite. Honestly, the hardware facilities are excellent, but! If you want to experience differential treatment, this W is the place to be. First, someone else's laundry was mistakenly delivered to our suite. When I told the front desk, they were dismissive, merely saying someone would come to collect it, without even an apology. Later, while we were out, they left two boxes of Pocky biscuits... truly perfunctory. Then, we went to the Living Room on the third floor for drinks, and the server was practically bowing to Caucasian guests, while being very dismissive towards us. Around 10 PM, I called their 24/7 Whatever/Whenever service for an extra duvet, and they told me they had none left. The next day, I ordered room service through the Bonvoy app, and since I couldn't find the order on the web version, I called again to confirm. They said they'd call me back after checking with room service, but the meal arrived and I never got a call back. It felt like they didn't care about their guests at all. Also, the suite's minibar is entirely chargeable, and there are no additional services. It really felt like I paid a hefty price just to rent the room itself. I can't really praise the service from a five-star Marriott-branded hotel. This review is a heads-up for anyone considering booking this hotel. Though I doubt W Osaka will care about my review; they're always fully booked and don't lack customers. Oh, and the front desk concierge who spoke Chinese were all from Taiwan.

The location is superb, right at Exit C93 of Nishi-Umeda subway station, and it's a direct walk to Umeda Daimaru, about 400-500 meters. However, it's easy to get lost in Umeda on the way back, so you might need to find your bearings. It's perfectly situated between the shopping areas of Umeda and the Nakanoshima promenade, which is very convenient. The room amenities are quite luxurious. The bathroom fixtures are Hansgrohe, and even the cutlery is Cutipol. There's plenty of space to open two large suitcases (30-inch and 26-inch) without feeling cramped. The breakfast plates are adorable, and the breakfast itself is up to Marriott's usual standard, definitely better than other Japanese hotels I've stayed at. There were many Western guests at this hotel. We arrived at 12:30 PM and were able to check in early, which was a huge plus. All in all, I would definitely choose to stay here again if I come back to Osaka.

The hotel location is great and easy to walk around exploring right in the middle of the city and you will find this gem ramen store open 24/7! The only disappointment was with the butler service or more the non existent butler service. For the price we are paying, I expected much much more from St Regis as I have been accustomed to at other St Regis Hotels. The hotel is beginning to show its age and hence the cleanliness part is coming into question when our rooms were being cleaned, I mean I am again nit picking here but it isn’t up to St Regis usual standards. The gym room is adequate but there isn’t a pool in a 5 star hotel 🙃.

We stayed at The Singulari Hotel & Skyspa at Universal Studios Japan during our 4th trip to Japan and our first traveling with our auADHD toddler. This was our second hotel in Osaka, and we arrived by taxi directly from our previous hotel. Taxi tip: make sure you show the taxi driver the hotel name and address in Japanese. Our driver initially dropped us at Universal Studios Japan instead of the hotel entrance and that cost us when it showed him the Google maps address. The hotel staff themselves were excellent. They deal with international guest on the daily and some speak English. Our forwarded luggage was received without issue and delivered directly to our room, which made arrival seamless. They have forms for luggage transport themselves that I used for our KIX airport hotel. Service throughout our stay was efficient and professional, and the staff clearly explained all hotel procedures. The biggest advantage of this property is its location. It is about a 10-minute walk to the entrance of Universal Studios Japan, which gives you a real edge if you plan to rope drop. The subway station is directly outside the hotel entrance, making transportation extremely convenient. Universal Citywalk is steps away, with Starbucks, Lawson, Bikkuri Donki (Great for familes by the way), shopping, and countless restaurants all within immediate reach. If you’re visiting USJ, I strongly recommend arriving at the park entrance by 7:30 a.m. We arrived around 8:30 a.m., and it made the first ride strategy noticeably more challenging. Luckily disability service helped a little as it was similar to Disney when you have to go to the Fast Pass staff to get a return time but USJ uses pen and paper. The earlier you position yourself for rope drop, the smoother your morning will be. Lines were extremely long and we were only able to see half the park. Unless you have 2 days at USJ, I recommend buying the Express pass packages as early as possible as they were all sold out the day of. Definitely a big regret as we only had 1 day there. The onsen sauna was of an average size. After long park days, it was incredibly relaxing. The baths are separated by gender, and there are no private rentable family spaces, so that’s something to keep in mind if traveling to onsen if you are not comfortable going commando with others. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The bathroom felt slightly dated but it was clean and fully functional. One thing I missed was having a small kitchenette and in-room washer/dryer. Laundry is available on the spa floor via coin machines, but in-room units would have been more better. On our second day, we made a day trip to Ghibli Park in Aichi, which took about 2.5 hours each way via Shinkansen and local transit. It’s doable but long. If your primary focus is Universal Studios Japan, this hotel is an excellent strategic base. If you plan multiple long day trips outside Osaka, you may want something more centrally located. I should have planned a day to stay at Nagoya for my Ghibli Park day. Overall, The Singulari is ideal for travelers prioritizing proximity to Universal Studios Japan, easy transit access (but not centrally located), and post-park relaxation in a quality onsen setting.

Google Maps navigation to Exit 22 actually refers to an underground shopping street. You can exit from either 7B or 8B in the middle of the street, or from Exit 21 – all lead to the same area. Locals don’t usually come here to sleep — they come to wash, relax, and go through the full spa ritual. There are three types of steam rooms, a circular shower, and three baths: two hot ones at around 41°C, and one cold shock bath at around 11°C. You dip in and instantly feel alive. One unique feature — every hour they run a group steam ritual, like a collective massage & heat therapy session. Very Japanese, and surprisingly affordable. Definitely worth trying. There’s also an inexpensive breakfast option, plus vending machines with food and drinks right inside — very convenient. Overall, it’s a men-only vibe: arrive, clean up, relax, reset, and go about your day. The capsule is just a bonus on top of the sauna experience. They give you clothing — not a robe, but loose Japanese pants and an oversized T-shirt. You get your own locker, bedding and clothes are changed daily, and the bathrooms have literally everything: toothbrush, toothpaste, gels, shampoo… even nail clippers. You don’t need to bring anything. Location is fantastic — right next to Dotonbori. Step outside and you’re instantly in the heart of Osaka’s nightlife and energy. Downsides? A strict checkout — you must leave at 10:00 AM, and check-in starts only after 3:00 PM. If you want to stay during that gap, it’s around 300 yen per hour, or ~900 yen for the day. Still — great experience. I always wanted to try a real Japanese capsule stay. Inside the capsule there’s a TV, radio, adjustable lights, and AC — though it blasts pretty strongly, so I turned it off.

This hotel absolutely exceeded my expectations; it's almost on par with a five-star hotel. I've stayed in many capsule hotels, and this one is the best. The large public bath has everything you could possibly need, they even provide swim trunks! Razors, toothbrushes, hand towels, bath towels, pumice stones, exfoliating mitts, and multiple types of facial cleansers – they have it all. Can you believe there's even an open-air bath? They also offer massages, but those are extra. And seriously, they even have a blood pressure monitor! After showering, you can grab a drink and some noodles, which can be charged directly to your room. The luggage area has a huge packing table, with space underneath for oversized luggage (I didn't use it so I don't know if there's a charge). The lounge area has sofas for watching TV, and even a smoking section – it's incredibly convenient! Right outside the hotel is Umeda Higashidori Street, where bunny girls invite you to all-you-can-drink deals, and there are all sorts of food options around. The capsule itself is quite spacious, and the bedding is incredibly clean – I mean five-star hotel quality clean. I don't understand why the rating is low; for me, the only 'downside' is that there are too many amenities and services to explore before I had to check out. For a capsule hotel, the service is almost too much! One final friendly tip: you'll still need to buy your own toothpaste...

Why did they give us a room on the 14th floor? For our entire 3-day stay, we were the only Chinese guests, and the room was so small we couldn't even open our luggage. The service wasn't as warm as the Holiday Inn Tokyo. Even though I'm an IHG member, they didn't register my membership when I showed my card, nor did they tell us there was a coffee machine on the 3rd floor. Breakfast on the 2nd floor was chaotic. We had to pay the departure tax on the day we checked in. The navigation for Honmachi Station exits was completely inaccurate; we ended up coming out of Exit 9, which made us walk around Shinsaibashi market. My Apple navigation also stopped working on the day we arrived, so I had to walk from the hotel to the Apple store in Osaka to get help from the staff. I saw on some social media that Google Maps has been having similar issues recently. There were also tour groups staying at this hotel.

The South Asian gentleman who checked us in was very efficient and communicated well in English. The room size was decent, especially good for Japan, with enough space in the aisle to fully open a 20-inch suitcase. Housekeeping made our beds daily. I'm not sure if the sheets weren't changed or if it was an issue with the bedding itself, but on one occasion, we found a small amount of hair accumulated in the corner of the bedsheet. The hotel breakfast was a buffet, offering both Japanese and Western options, and we were very satisfied with it throughout our stay. At one point, my friend bought instant noodles but forgot to ask for a fork at the convenience store. We called the front desk from our room to request disposable chopsticks, and the entire conversation was in English, very smooth and efficient. The hotel's location is also incredibly convenient, situated in the large commercial and transportation hub of Umeda. Directly opposite the hotel is a pedestrian street bustling with dining and entertainment options. Furthermore, if you're taking the train, you can reach the hotel lobby directly from Exit 7-72 of the Whity Umeda underground passage, which saved us from braving the cold winter winds above ground. Regarding the price, thanks to booking in advance, we were very happy with what we paid. If the price is right next time, we would definitely consider staying at this hotel again.

A three-star hotel with an interestingly decorated lobby - there are automatons-”dinosaurs” installed there. In fact, they are there so that guests, with their ”help”, do self-check-in. There are very few employees in the hotel, you need to wait a long time until a ”human employee” comes to you. The room is small, two-thirds of the room is taken up by the bed. The bed is quite comfortable and large. An important detail! Breakfast in the hotel, although advertised, is actually absent, there is not even a dining room for it. Pro Rules for a Stress-Free Ride

Tap and Go: Use ICOCA, Suica, or just tap your credit card or phone at the gate to skip ticket machines

Use the Main Line: If you feel lost, go back to the Midosuji Line, it connects major areas like Umeda and Namba

Check the Direction: Always check the last station name like “for Nakamozu” or “for Shin-Osaka” before boarding

Avoid Peak Hours: Best to avoid 7:30 AM to 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM since trains get very crowded

Wait for the Next Train: Trains arrive every few minutes, so you can skip a packed one

Bag Placement: Carry your backpack in front or keep it close during crowded rides

Use Exit Numbers: Check the exit number before leaving to avoid long walks inside big stations

Prepare Before Exit: Move closer to the door one station before your stop

Stand on the Right: On escalators, stand on the right and walk on the left

Stay Quiet: Keep your phone on silent and avoid calls inside the train

💡 Tip: If you are not sure, just follow the signs or watch what locals do, it’s very easy once you get used to it
