Guangzhou Baiyun Airport to the City
Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport is around 28 kilometers from central Guangzhou. Your best transport option depends on whether your flight arrives at Terminal 2 or Terminal 3.

Terminal 1 temporarily closed for renovation on May 7, 2026. Airport South Metro Station is also temporarily closed, with trains currently passing through without stopping. From Terminal 2
Terminal 2 is connected directly to Airport North Station on Metro Line 3. The journey to central Guangzhou usually takes around 40 to 60 minutes, depending on your destination and transfers.
This is the cheapest option for travelers staying around Tianhe, Zhujiang New Town, Yuexiu, or other central districts.
From Terminal 3
Terminal 3 does not currently have a direct Guangzhou Metro station. Travelers can use:
Metro and airport shuttle: Take the shuttle between Terminal 3 and Gaozeng Station, where you can connect to Metro Lines 3 and 9. The shuttle journey takes about 15 minutes.
Guangdong Intercity Railway: Baiyun Airport East Station is connected to Terminal 3. Trains connect the airport with areas such as Pazhou and Panyu, where passengers can transfer to other transport.
Taxi or DiDi: A ride to central Guangzhou usually costs around CNY 120 to 200, approximately ₱1,090 to ₱1,820. Traffic, tolls, and your hotel location can affect the final fare.
Guangzhou Metro
The Guangzhou Metro is the fastest and most convenient way to get around the city. It connects the airport, major railway stations, business districts, shopping areas, hotels, and attractions.

Yang Cheng Tong Transport Card
Yang Cheng Tong is Guangzhou’s rechargeable transport card. It works on the metro, public buses, trams, and many water bus routes.
You can buy selected card types from metro service counters, Yang Cheng Tong service centers, and some convenience stores. A deposit card generally requires a CNY 20 deposit, plus the amount you want to add.
For a three to five-day visit, adding around CNY 50 to 100 is usually enough if you mainly use the metro and public buses.

Hotel Location: It's right by Exit D of Tiyu Xilu metro station. The hotel's first floor connects directly to Teemall, and Parc Central and Grandview Mall are also linked, making transportation very convenient. Whether it's malls, restaurants, or various community cafes, everything is nearby – extremely convenient.
Room Facilities: We stayed in the most basic twin room, which was quite spacious and roomy. From our 15th-floor room, we could see the pool, offering a nice view. The room facilities were well-maintained, practical, and functional.
Food and Beverage Service: The kids couldn't get up early in the mornings, and we wanted to try dim sum at nearby restaurants, so we didn't book breakfast. We bought a 3-drink pass at the lobby cafe and enjoyed coffee there, which was quite pleasant.
Hotel Service: It was standard five-star service. After we arrived at the airport, my child realized they had left something in the room. The hotel proactively contacted us and arranged to have it sent home. We're very grateful for that.

We stayed at DoubleTree by Hilton and had a wonderful experience, especially because of the warm and attentive service from the hotel staff.
A special mention goes to the team at the 礼宾室 (Concierge). Since I had ordered quite a lot of items online during our stay, I ended up visiting them many times to check on deliveries. They were always patient, helpful, and welcoming, taking the time to assist me with checking the packages and greeting us warmly every time. Their attitude really made us feel welcomed.
The housekeeping team also deserves special praise. Whenever we were heading out, they would kindly remind us to bring water and check the weather for the day. Since we were travelling with a baby, they also thoughtfully provided additional towels and toiletries, which was a very nice touch and showed genuine attention to our needs.
The location is also excellent. The hotel is around 1 km from 北京路步行街, which was an easy and pleasant walk for us. There are also plenty of local eateries nearby. I especially enjoyed visiting 广银肠粉 for 艇仔粥 and 嘉琪饼家 for 菠萝包 — I ended up going to both almost every day!
Overall, this was a very comfortable and family-friendly stay, made even better by the genuinely friendly and attentive staff. The service really stood out to us, and we would be happy to stay at DoubleTree by Hilton again.FromPHP 4,897

The hotel's location is excellent, right by the Pearl River, with a metro station (Haizhu Square) downstairs. I booked a river view room online, which is typically on floors 13-19, but the front desk upgraded me—special thanks to Xiao Shi! I ended up on the 30th floor. The view from the window is stunning; I could see the Canton Tower to the left, Jiefang Bridge to the right, and the Pearl River in the middle. The room itself was well-appointed, with a blue floral carpet, and both the bathroom and shower were spacious. A thoughtful touch was the cartoon sightseeing map on the desk, which highlighted nearby attractions and recommended eateries—very practical for first-time visitors to Guangzhou. The room rate was quite reasonable, as it didn't include breakfast. For meals, guests can head to the Tao Heung Restaurant on the second floor of the hotel, where dim sum for breakfast, lunch, and dinner is incredibly popular! The hotel looked better in the pictures than in real life! Honestly, the overall environment was decent, and there were several pleasant surprises during our stay, like the afternoon tea included in our package and the fruit platter specially provided at the hot spring. However, the downside was the hotel staff's somewhat aggressive upselling. They offered us a room upgrade but wanted an additional 80 yuan per hot spring tub (even though the room I booked already had a private tub!). Also, we had to pay extra for our child exceeding the limit, and this was only for a single entry (a multi-entry pass cost over 100 yuan per person, with no discount for hotel guests). What was even funnier was that each room was limited to 4 bottles of mineral water. We took 5 bottles the first night because we needed more water after using the hot spring, and then they wouldn't give us any more the next day! On checkout day, I wanted to take two bottles of water, but the front desk didn't even have any. Oh well, it's not like we're desperate for those two bottles. Thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay at a type C suite with superb amenities like bathtub, big shower and a private pool 😍 Upon our arrival, the staff (Ally) was highly proficient and gave us a quick brush up on what to expect on the resort. She accompanied us to the room and even drove the golf cart herself.
The most amazing person in the resort was Anna, their Customer Service Manager who went above and beyond by personally touring us inside the resort - Museum, temple as well as the presidential villa. She even took our photos and passionately shared about the resort and it's history. She is highly proficient in Mandarin despite being from Russia and not a native speaker.
The hot springs were the highlight. We. Went there every day for 3 days and the amenities were too notch. We practically had the springs to ourselves.
Bonus? We played tennis in one of the resorts 2 courts. Service was excellent too! While it rained that day, they mopped the court so we can play.
Thank you to the staff for their dedication, excellent service and heart. We had an very good time with the free photography (3 photos) and paid extra for the other beautiful photos worth 2,000 yuan🤣 Well it was for a unique experience 👍

You can request a shuttle service to get to various areas of the hotel, and there's ample parking. The room key card for electricity was very convenient. The room itself comes with a dryer, a private hot spring tub, and even a colon hydrotherapy machine. The mini-bar offered 3 complimentary drinks, plus 4 bottles of mineral water. The room amenities were great; the duvet and pillows were very comfortable. Room service is also available.
The Orchid Garden area has hot spring pools right downstairs, which is extremely convenient. The pools have hydro-massage jets that feel incredibly good. The swimming pool in the aquatic center is a good size, and there are hot spring tubs there too. Both the breakfast and dinner buffets offer a wide variety of dishes that suit Chinese palates, though there weren't any particularly high-value items.
The only minor drawbacks were that some of the staff seemed a bit rushed at times, and their communication skills could be improved. Also, the low heat and high heat settings on the in-room dryer were indistinguishable, and its drying efficiency was just average. We stayed in a family-themed room, but encountered two issues that I hope the hotel addresses:
1. **Pool Noise**: Our room was located directly below the swimming pool area. In the afternoon, when my child was supposed to be resting, the constant dripping of water from the pool onto the awning above our room was incredibly loud and disruptive. Placing family rooms directly beneath/adjacent to the pool seems like a poor design choice, as overflowing pool water directly hitting the awning creates both noise and a potential safety hazard. I hope the hotel reconsiders the layout of rooms in this area, or at least installs effective soundproofing/waterproofing measures.
2. **Sofa Bed Safety Hazard**: After checking in, we asked staff to open the sofa bed for us. However, they left immediately after opening it, and the bed wasn't properly secured. Later, when my child was sleeping, the sofa bed completely flipped over. Thankfully, no one was injured. Upon inspecting it ourselves, we discovered that there are locking mechanisms on both sides of the sofa bed once it's open. Had the staff ensured it was properly secured before leaving, this risk could have been entirely avoided. I suggest the hotel strengthen internal training, especially for services involving children's safety, ensuring tasks are completed thoroughly before staff depart.
Aside from these two major flaws, other services and facilities were acceptable. However, the core purpose of a family room is safety and rest, and neither of these was adequately met. Families with young children should exercise caution when choosing this room type.FromPHP 6,417

I stayed at the hotel with my child over the weekend, specifically for the outdoor pool! So, after checking in, we headed straight there! First, I was quite impressed with the hotel staff's attitude. Before our arrival, knowing we were traveling with a child, they helped set up a small tent in the room, which my child really liked! The rooms are all above the 50th floor, spacious, and have great views!
The only minor downsides, in my opinion, are that the bathroom lighting is a bit dim and the hot water takes a while to come on; I had to wait a few minutes for hot water in the shower!
The outdoor pool isn't very big, and it wasn't crowded, but it's a bit of a walk to get there, and you have to pass through the banquet hall! This design seems a bit unreasonable...
My child and I had already changed into our swimsuits and bathrobes in the room, planning to go straight to the pool. We didn't realize we'd have to walk through the banquet hall, where there was a wedding party setting up, with bridesmaids and groomsmen everywhere. Walking through the middle of them was truly mortifying! So embarrassing...

As an established international hotel, it has stood in the Tianhebei area for many years. Aside from the outdated facilities, everything else is great. The age of the hotel is what it is, can't change that. To the left of the entrance, there's Yu Jing Xuan, a great spot for dim sum, and being in the center of Tianhebei makes it easy to get anywhere. But I really don’t recommend to dinning at the restaurant named hongtu hall, never been to a restaurant that sucks from the bottom to the top, it doesn’t matter if you have reservations that has a specific number or not, they will sit you by whoever stand the closest to the entrance, and if you don’t ask the host and keep waiting for them to call your number, you will be excluded from being sited like forever. Also, food takes like 25 to 35 minutes to come, coffee, cocktail and tea are good, but this 5 star hotel which located at Guangzhou which is known for good food that has only one kind of the hot sauce is really not professional, and it’s not even hot at all. Then comes to payment, we tried to do room charge, and filled out the information on the receipt that they provided, then they told us to wait cuz they need to check if the information is correct, so we tried to be patient and waited for like 20 minutes, I was confused how come they took forever to come back to tell us if everything is going well, then I asked the same girl is everything ok and if we can go now, she was surprised that we still sitting there and wait saying “oh, they didn’t tell you it went through?” I was pissed and didn’t say anything, but what do you mean if other servers supposed to tell me when you are the one that respond to our table. The whole restaurant is super unorganized and maybe they are popular and busy, so they don’t need to really care about every single one of us. It’s really one of the most ridiculous experiences I’ve ever had and not to mentioned is in a well known 5 star hotel. Traveling with two adults and one child, I've stayed at several other family-friendly hotels, but was generally disappointed. I've already warned other moms in my parenting groups about avoiding those places.
Pros:
1. The room facilities are excellent, with a full range of children's amenities like small stools and bath bags. Housekeeping did a great job.
2. The Aviary World is very well done overall.
Cons:
1. The concierge service was terrible. When checking in, I was pushing a stroller with my left hand and dragging a large suitcase plus a tote bag with my right, but no one offered to help with my luggage or direct me to check-in.
2. The front desk staff seemed inexperienced. They told me the crib was 60x90cm, which made me wonder if they were trying to dissuade me, as I almost said 'never mind, our baby is 88cm and won't fit.' However, the actual crib provided was about 120cm long.
3. It's not as well-equipped as other family hotels. When booking, the customer service rep said cribs couldn't be reserved and were on a 'first-come, first-served' basis. There's no bottle sterilizer/dryer.
4. Both breakfast vouchers required an additional fee, yet on October 2nd, the breakfast buffet was almost empty by 9 AM! Is this acceptable for a five-star hotel?
5. After I complained about issue #1 to Trip.com, the hotel immediately questioned the authenticity of my claim, demanding to review surveillance footage. Two to three hours later, they investigated, sent a text saying they'd compensate me, but nothing ever came of it.

Five-star recommendation! Bringing kids to Guangzhou, choosing this hotel was a great decision.
I really have to praise the staff here, they are incredibly attentive! After checking in, they added me on WeChat, and I had a dedicated 24-hour butler who could help with all sorts of things, big or small. Any room requests were usually delivered within about 10 minutes. When traveling with kids, unexpected situations often arise, so having this service really put my mind at ease.
The laundry service is also excellent; they offer wash and dry, so you don't have to do it yourself. Clothes sent in the morning were returned the same day, which is super practical for families with children!
You can get free coffee on the first floor, and the latte was very good. The hotel is an older establishment that has been renovated, so it feels very new overall. The room space is a bit on the smaller side, but it didn't affect our stay experience. The value for money is excellent. The location is truly convenient; you can walk to Zhengjia Plaza for dining, drinking, and shopping without any issues.

The staff at this Intercontinental hotel are incredibly service-oriented. From the moment my car pulled up to the lobby, I could feel the professionalism and enthusiasm of the concierge team. As I was traveling for business, I was constantly going back and forth between the hotel and my client. No matter if it was morning or evening, I always encountered meticulous concierges who would proactively open car doors, greet guests, and help with luggage. Even in the scorching heat, working outdoors, they never slacked off. They truly deserve commendation.
There was a slight hiccup during check-in; it felt like the front desk agent wasn't very experienced in handling special situations, but thankfully, everything was resolved smoothly in the end. When I was checking out and waiting in line, an international staff member immediately came over and opened a new counter to process transactions, which was very flexible and ensured that guests in the lobby wouldn't have to wait too long.
The breakfast was also very rich and diverse. The staff in the all-day dining restaurant were well-organized. I particularly liked the fresh squeezed juice, and tables were cleared quite promptly.
As I was leaving, I chatted with a male lobby manager, mentioning that the hotel is well-maintained, but could use a renovation to add some smart amenities, such as robots for food delivery and smart toilets.

This hotel was perfect for attending Chen Chusheng's concert. It's just one subway stop from University Town, so getting back to the hotel quickly after the show was a breeze. The hotel's location deserves full marks – it's right by subway exit A, super close! 😁 The higher floor offered great views, and the room was spacious. The breakfast had delicious bread and waffles 🧇, tasty freshly made rice noodles, and plenty of fruit. We enjoyed the views while we ate. Both the floor staff and the ground floor attendants were very friendly. If you have time, you can also walk along the greenway on the island.
