Guangzhou Baiyun Airport to the City
Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport is around 28 kilometers from central Guangzhou. Your best transport option depends on whether your flight arrives at Terminal 2 or Terminal 3.

Terminal 2 is connected directly to Airport North Station on Metro Line 3. The journey to central Guangzhou usually takes around 40 to 60 minutes, depending on your destination and transfers.
This is the cheapest option for travelers staying around Tianhe, Zhujiang New Town, Yuexiu, or other central districts.
From Terminal 3
Terminal 3 does not currently have a direct Guangzhou Metro station. Travelers can use:
Metro and airport shuttle: Take the shuttle between Terminal 3 and Gaozeng Station, where you can connect to Metro Lines 3 and 9. The shuttle journey takes about 15 minutes.
Guangdong Intercity Railway: Baiyun Airport East Station is connected to Terminal 3. Trains connect the airport with areas such as Pazhou and Panyu, where passengers can transfer to other transport.
Taxi or DiDi: A ride to central Guangzhou usually costs around CNY 120 to 200, approximately ₱1,090 to ₱1,820. Traffic, tolls, and your hotel location can affect the final fare.
Guangzhou Metro

Yang Cheng Tong Transport Card
Yang Cheng Tong is Guangzhou’s rechargeable transport card. It works on the metro, public buses, trams, and many water bus routes.
You can buy selected card types from metro service counters, Yang Cheng Tong service centers, and some convenience stores. A deposit card generally requires a CNY 20 deposit, plus the amount you want to add.
For a three to five-day visit, adding around CNY 50 to 100 is usually enough if you mainly use the metro and public buses.

Hotel Location: Prime business district, convenient but prone to traffic jams
The hotel's location is truly excellent, situated right next to Zhengjia Plaza on Tianhe Road. Stepping out, you're seamlessly connected to a bustling commercial area, making shopping, strolling, and dining incredibly convenient. However, precisely because it's in a core business district, the surrounding traffic is bound to be congested during peak hours. Whether driving or taking a taxi, the last few hundred meters can take a considerable amount of time. It's advisable to factor in extra time and check traffic conditions upon arrival.
Hotel Environment: Well-equipped, but cleanliness details need improvement
The hotel generally offers the comfort expected of a standard five-star establishment. The decor and facilities are well-maintained and function smoothly without issues. Disappointingly, however, the room's cleanliness was rather mediocre. Dust was visible on obvious surfaces like the bedside table (see photos), which is quite detrimental to the stay experience for a five-star hotel.
Hotel Facilities: Comprehensive, meeting daily needs
All of the hotel's hardware facilities worked well. The comprehensive amenities met guests' daily rest and leisure needs. Although some areas might show a slight sense of age, the overall maintenance was good, with no facility malfunctions or inconveniences.
Hotel Service: Low efficiency, attitude needs improvement
This was the most critical area for improvement during this stay. Firstly, check-in efficiency was extremely low. Arriving at 3 PM, a twin room was still not available. Even after asking Trip.com customer service to expedite the process, we didn't receive the room key until 5 PM, severely disrupting our plans for rest. Secondly, the front desk staff's training was clearly inadequate; their arrogant attitude completely fell short of my consistent impression of Marriott staff being professional and enthusiastic, which was quite disappointing.
Hotel Dining: On par, highly recommended
The hotel's dining experience was outstanding and a major highlight of this stay. The buffet breakfast on the fifth floor offered a wide and diverse selection, catering to various tastes. The Chinese restaurant on the sixth floor not only had excellent dishes but also provided attentive and thoughtful service. The overall experience was superb and highly recommended.
Overall, I am satisfied with my comprehensive experience at this hotel, especially its impeccable location and excellent dining. However, I also hope the hotel addresses the existing issues, genuinely improves the front desk staff's attitude, enhances check-in efficiency, and strengthens control over room cleanliness. This is a classic hotel in the heart of Guangzhou, and its location is really good. The exterior also looks quite grand. The rooms are spacious, and the views from them are very nice. You can also go up to the 63rd floor for an even better view. Breakfast was decent, but it was a shame that during my three-day stay, the noodle station only had a chef on the last morning. I found the front desk service quite subpar. I waited in line for ages, and several male receptionists kept ignoring me or shunting me to a different queue. They were busy chatting casually with the guests in front of them and didn't bother calling the next person. They spent half an hour on pointless conversation, and it felt like it would never end. I was so annoyed waiting that they finally called out a female receptionist from the back to help me with my room card. Also, in the lobby, we were dragging our luggage around, and no staff member came over to offer assistance. Overall, I felt there was hardly any service.
There's no self-service laundry room, which I think is a significant drawback. Since there are no room service robots, I had to go up and down to collect my food orders every time, which was a real hassle.
The room hygiene was good, but I find it incredibly stingy for a five-star hotel to charge for a tiny bit of coke and other items in the minibar. Many hotels now offer complimentary minibars.

The room is very spacious, and the overall environment is excellent. The service attitude is superb, especially Front Desk Assistant Xiao Lin, who was very enthusiastic and kind. The only downsides are that the hotel is a bit old, and the facilities are a bit dated. The air conditioner in our room was leaking, but Xiao Lin was incredibly helpful and quickly arranged a room change. However, the new room was quite noisy due to its proximity to the road and ongoing subway construction. The room had large windows. The breakfast leaned towards Western style; it wouldn't be worth it if paid for separately, especially compared to the excellent dim sum (Cantonese morning tea) readily available throughout Guangzhou. I finally had to interrupt their enthusiastic chat to ask if someone else or the check-in desk could register my car plate. After waiting for a long time and seeing no end to their conversation, and with my one-year-old getting restless, I went to the check-in counter to ask if they could help with the car plate. It was then that a nearby check-in staff member took us back to the concierge desk, where someone there *did* register my car plate. I was utterly confused! Turns out, it *was* possible. So, is concierge service only reserved for foreign guests, and we don't even deserve a smile? He knew I had a baby and had been waiting for almost ten minutes, yet he was completely indifferent. This is hard to assess... The hotel facilities and cleanliness were fine. The doorman when we left was very enthusiastic. The breakfast, to be honest, was really just mediocre! The French toast was alright, but the rest was truly unremarkable... especially the waffles, which were hard and unappetizing, and the eggs were very average. The location is absolutely perfect; getting around Zhujiang New Town for business is super convenient. They have free transportation from terminals. If you arrived at terminal 2, after passing passport control, go to the second floor to departure hall and find exit 46. The bus from the hotel will pick you up right there, outside the exit.
Reception guys are very helpful, they helped with your luggage and anything you need.
The room itself is very spacious. The floor in the room is so soft, like a cloud! The bed is very comfortable, pillows just amazing! The bath robe is so soft, double layered, I loved it. All you need you have in a room.
Only one thing can be improved, could be nice if there would be face wash and face lotion at least.

We stayed at Hotel Landmark Canton Guangzhou for 4 nights and had a very enjoyable and comfortable experience.
We were pleasantly surprised to receive a complimentary upgrade to a Club Room. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the toilet was very clean. One thing that really stood out was the service from our room attendant. He remembered that we did not drink coffee and, instead of leaving the usual coffee supplies, he thoughtfully provided us with extra tea bags every day. It was a small gesture, but it showed great attention to detail and made us feel well taken care of.
We also enjoyed having breakfast at a discounted rate. Another fun part of our stay was using the hotel's robots to deliver food to our room. It was a unique experience and something we really enjoyed.
The concierge team was also very helpful. At one point, my luggage somehow got stuck and I couldn't open it, but the concierge kindly helped me get it open. I really appreciated his patience and assistance.

This was my first time visiting Conghua, Guangdong, for a hot spring experience, and I specifically chose this hotel for its genuine hot springs. Firstly, the hotel service deeply impressed us. My room was a luxurious suite with private bath tub (around hkd 3000 for two nights including breakfast). Hardware is definitely exceptional. However when it comes to service it is below standard:
1) front desk - service was poor without any greetings such as bell boy. Front desk officers were unhappy without any eye contact when they talk to you. No hospitality at all;
2) breakfast - the quality both food and service were not up to a 4 or 5 star service. Table was not clean, staffs were almost unfriendly, except one female manager and one staff, all staffs were rushing their task and unwelcoming. I believe the hotel management need to motivate their staff ,otherwise, people won’t come again.
3) Amnenties - room is a luxurious suite with private bath tub, massage chair, kitchen , dining table and queen bed. The tub was not very clean, with water splitting . Such a waste as their service was not meeting the standard of what it is expected to be a 5- star resort. (The environment, garden were nicely decorated indeed) The Hot Spring pool is well known but I have’s try so cannot comment.
I won’t come to this resort again, if the service of the hotel haven’t improved. And I won’t recommend travelers with kids who is looking for a family friendly and good service resort.

Honestly, the overall environment was decent, and there were several pleasant surprises during our stay, like the afternoon tea included in our package and the fruit platter specially provided at the hot spring. However, the downside was the hotel staff's somewhat aggressive upselling. They offered us a room upgrade but wanted an additional 80 yuan per hot spring tub (even though the room I booked already had a private tub!). Also, we had to pay extra for our child exceeding the limit, and this was only for a single entry (a multi-entry pass cost over 100 yuan per person, with no discount for hotel guests). What was even funnier was that each room was limited to 4 bottles of mineral water. We took 5 bottles the first night because we needed more water after using the hot spring, and then they wouldn't give us any more the next day! On checkout day, I wanted to take two bottles of water, but the front desk didn't even have any. Oh well, it's not like we're desperate for those two bottles. You can request a shuttle service to get to various areas of the hotel, and there's ample parking. The room key card for electricity was very convenient. The room itself comes with a dryer, a private hot spring tub, and even a colon hydrotherapy machine. The mini-bar offered 3 complimentary drinks, plus 4 bottles of mineral water. The room amenities were great; the duvet and pillows were very comfortable. Room service is also available.
The Orchid Garden area has hot spring pools right downstairs, which is extremely convenient. The pools have hydro-massage jets that feel incredibly good. The swimming pool in the aquatic center is a good size, and there are hot spring tubs there too. Both the breakfast and dinner buffets offer a wide variety of dishes that suit Chinese palates, though there weren't any particularly high-value items.
The only minor drawbacks were that some of the staff seemed a bit rushed at times, and their communication skills could be improved. Also, the low heat and high heat settings on the in-room dryer were indistinguishable, and its drying efficiency was just average. We stayed in a family-themed room, but encountered two issues that I hope the hotel addresses:
1. **Pool Noise**: Our room was located directly below the swimming pool area. In the afternoon, when my child was supposed to be resting, the constant dripping of water from the pool onto the awning above our room was incredibly loud and disruptive. Placing family rooms directly beneath/adjacent to the pool seems like a poor design choice, as overflowing pool water directly hitting the awning creates both noise and a potential safety hazard. I hope the hotel reconsiders the layout of rooms in this area, or at least installs effective soundproofing/waterproofing measures.
2. **Sofa Bed Safety Hazard**: After checking in, we asked staff to open the sofa bed for us. However, they left immediately after opening it, and the bed wasn't properly secured. Later, when my child was sleeping, the sofa bed completely flipped over. Thankfully, no one was injured. Upon inspecting it ourselves, we discovered that there are locking mechanisms on both sides of the sofa bed once it's open. Had the staff ensured it was properly secured before leaving, this risk could have been entirely avoided. I suggest the hotel strengthen internal training, especially for services involving children's safety, ensuring tasks are completed thoroughly before staff depart.

Basking in the Glory of the Past
This is a very hard review to write because the Grand International Hotel feels like two completely different properties at the same time. The public areas are excellent—beautiful, grand, and clearly designed to impress—while the room I stayed in on the eighth floor was a very different experience, as shown in the photos.
One major positive is the location. The hotel is only about 250 feet from the Metro entrance, and from there it’s an easy 11‑minute direct ride to the Canton Fair. For anyone attending the fair, the convenience is outstanding.
The room, however, had several issues. There was a strong mildew or mold smell from the moment I entered. The hallway carpet and the room carpet both had visible water marks. In the shower, only the bottom faucet worked, and the water pressure was extremely high, making it difficult to use comfortably. There were also dark areas in the shower that looked like black mold. The odor in the room was noticeable throughout the stay.
The lobby and shared spaces are genuinely stunning, and even the men’s restroom features an aquarium. Breakfast was also excellent, with one of the most Western‑friendly selections I’ve seen in China.
The gym requires an additional 50 RMB per day to use.
I did not try to change rooms as I arrived late at night and was only staying for two nights. As a result I’m not sure other floors are better. The public areas are truly impressive, but my rooms condition didn’t match the quality presented elsewhere in the property.FromPHP 3,511

Let's start with the downsides. The overall facilities and decor are a bit old and outdated, which is to be expected given the hotel's age. The bathroom doesn't have a separate shower (you have to stand in the bathtub to shower), no smart toilet, and the TV doesn't support screen mirroring (or maybe I just couldn't figure it out). Since the hotel is in a scenic area, if you want to take the subway, you have to cross a pedestrian bridge (without an escalator), which might be inconvenient for those with mobility issues. The day I arrived, I came out of Baiyun Airport T3 with luggage and, thinking it would be a bit of a walk to the ride-hailing pick-up point, I took a taxi. There was no queue, and I estimated it would be around 120 RMB, but I ended up paying over 180 RMB to the hotel, clearly ripped off. I'd recommend using ride-hailing apps like Didi when in Guangzhou. Later, when I went to Shunde and called a Didi, the driver told me halfway that I needed to cover the round-trip highway tolls (I'd certainly cover the one-way), and I didn't say anything. I just let him add it to the fare and later reported it to the platform, and I got a refund quickly.

You can buy some dim sum from the ground floor to take away; skip the mooncakes as nobody eats them now, but the Sachima is quite good and makes a nice gift. Let's talk about the service! I mistook this hotel for another where I had redeemed welcome fruit with 1 point on Trip.com. So, when I didn't find any fruit in my room, I called the hotel. The way they communicated needs improvement, as it made me feel like they were trying to take advantage of me, almost insulted. Perhaps they realized their poor communication had upset me, so they reported it to the manager. Soon after, the manager called to say that welcome fruit had been arranged and might already be in my room. However, when I returned to my room that evening, there was no fruit. So, I called the hotel again (at this point, it wasn't about whether I got the fruit or not, but about feeling toyed with). The hotel answered and explained, saying they would arrange it as soon as possible. Yet, 'as soon as possible' turned into over an hour. I was already in bed when the staff came to deliver the fruit. I was attending the 12th International Invention Exhibition at the Canton Fair (Hall A, Building 3, 2nd Floor), and after browsing hotels in the vicinity, I ultimately chose Langham Guangzhou.
Our group of 7 booked 4 Executive Rooms, and everyone raved about their stay. It's about a ten-minute walk to Hall A; you need to go underground via Nanfeng International Convention & Exhibition Centre to the metro station, cross the road, and you're there.
The hotel staff were all uniformly and appropriately dressed, friendly, and accommodating, always ready to help.
The rooms were well-equipped with amenities, including a bathtub and a refrigerator. However, I do wish the sofa was a bit larger~
Breakfast is served buffet-style on the 4th floor of the lobby. The food options varied daily, and the rice noodle rolls were absolutely delicious – I ordered them almost every day. The strawberry milkshake was also quite good.
The Executive Lounge on the 22nd floor offers a beautiful and tranquil environment, and the balcony view is simply stunning (morning or night). We would head up to the 22nd floor for a relaxing break after finishing our daily activities. The lounge serves snacks and cocktails from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM, and beer is available until 11 PM.
Parking was complimentary throughout our stay; we just needed to inform the front desk staff before leaving, which was simple and convenient. There were plenty of parking spaces, and some even had charging stations for electric car owners.
The only minor issue I encountered was that the bedside power outlets were very loose. Please refer to the video in my review for details.
I just wrote whatever came to mind.

The staff at this Intercontinental hotel are incredibly service-oriented. From the moment my car pulled up to the lobby, I could feel the professionalism and enthusiasm of the concierge team. As I was traveling for business, I was constantly going back and forth between the hotel and my client. No matter if it was morning or evening, I always encountered meticulous concierges who would proactively open car doors, greet guests, and help with luggage. Even in the scorching heat, working outdoors, they never slacked off. They truly deserve commendation.
There was a slight hiccup during check-in; it felt like the front desk agent wasn't very experienced in handling special situations, but thankfully, everything was resolved smoothly in the end. When I was checking out and waiting in line, an international staff member immediately came over and opened a new counter to process transactions, which was very flexible and ensured that guests in the lobby wouldn't have to wait too long.
The breakfast was also very rich and diverse. The staff in the all-day dining restaurant were well-organized. I particularly liked the fresh squeezed juice, and tables were cleared quite promptly.
As I was leaving, I chatted with a male lobby manager, mentioning that the hotel is well-maintained, but could use a renovation to add some smart amenities, such as robots for food delivery and smart toilets.

The airport shuttle was arranged very promptly as well. On the night I checked in, I registered for a 12 PM shuttle to the airport the next day. The customer service called me at 11:50 AM as a reminder, and the shuttle left promptly at 12 PM. The room felt comfortable, had no strange odors, and even came with an 'Xiaodu' smart assistant to help set alarms. Plus, food delivery could be brought directly to my room door. We queued for breakfast from 9:30 AM until 10:00 AM on a Sunday during the summer holiday. There were a lot of parents with children, and no temporary seating was arranged while we waited. There were only two chairs by the elevator, which was really inconvenient for parents holding babies. Many people who came out of the elevator just left when they saw the situation. Some guests asked to take their food to go, and the staff promptly provided take-out boxes. Later, we noticed that even those who were already eating inside were taking extra boxes to pack food. Everyone was saying you could just get a take-out box from the front desk. People who left directly afterwards probably didn't even know they had the option to pack their food. This doesn't seem like a one-off incident, meaning the on-site response measures are always like this, and the reception service needs improvement.
The room came with Haagen-Dazs vouchers, but we weren't informed about them upon check-in. It was only when our child asked the front desk during check-out that we received them. If we hadn't asked, who would have eaten them? Maybe staying during off-peak times would be more comfortable!
