The place is very accessible and convenient since it is near almost everything. Most of the staff were kind, hospitable, and accommodating, which we appreciated.
However, during our check-in, the receptionist on duty lacked proper assistance and explanation. While we were carrying our belongings and trying to figure out where the elevator was, she was busy talking and laughing with her co-worker. We were not informed properly about how to bring our things to the room, so the experience felt unprofessional at that moment.
Thankfully, one of the security guards noticed that we needed help and kindly assisted us with our cart and belongings. We truly appreciated his kindness and the hospitality shown by the other staff members.FromDKK 558

The Manila Hotel has an old but elegant and luxurious style. Marble and stone finishing, tall ceilings and a grand piano at the back with a musician playing pleasant music greets you as you walk through the entrance.
Lacking points from my personal experience:
1. The carpet floors need to be replaced. I had to change rooms because the first room I got had an unpleasant smell to it (they quickly changed my room after I went to the reception, so it wasn't terrible) and although I didn't notice until the end of my stay, the new room's carpet was frayed at the edges.
2. The night mode of the lights (many switches) completely cuts power to the power outlets. I didn't know and ended up waking up to a phone and power bank with a dying battery and needing to stay in the hotel a couple of hours until they finished charging. Maybe just a warning in the future?
The good parts:
1. The service! People are SO accommodating, pleasant and efficient. Reception staff, waiters, bell boys and basically everyone greets you with a smile and tries to solve any problems with utmost focus and cordiality.
2. Traditional pride. Traditional fashion exhibition at the front was a great touch to my visit. The whole place (restaurants, pools, spa, rooms, etc) add to the experience. I could have stayed in the hotel and felt like I hadn't missed Manila's charm.
3. Excellent location. I realised early on that I could literally see every single thing from my ”1 day tour of Manila” from my hotel room. Nothing says great location like this.FromDKK 615

I traveled to the Philippines to visit relatives. It was my mother's birthday, so we stayed in Manila. Whenever I stayed in Manila, I always stayed at the Philippine Plaza, but as soon as I found out it had closed, I started looking for a hotel. My requirements were that it be located on Roxas Boulevard, have good access to the airport and tourist attractions, and have good security. After searching and reading reviews, I decided that this hotel was ideal. I arrived early in the morning by overnight bus, but they kindly allowed me to leave my luggage before check-in and go out for breakfast. They also made arrangements to ensure a smooth check-in. I had mentioned in advance that it was my mother's birthday, and unexpectedly, a lovely birthday cake was waiting in our room. The room was clean, and the front desk staff provided wonderful service with smiles before, during, and after check-in. However, I was disappointed by the manners and attitude of some guests. Dogs were roaming freely in the restaurant and near the front desk (the website I checked said that pets were not allowed, but the hotel actually allowed them). There were also people walking down the corridors soaking wet. The most shocking thing was that, although we know it was our mistake, my mother's coat, which she had left near the front desk, went missing. It was an expensive coat that she cherished. My mother, myself, and everyone traveling with us remembered losing the coat at the hotel, so we checked with the staff multiple times, but it couldn't be found. It was almost certainly stolen inside the hotel. I don't know if they checked the security camera footage. I have stayed at famous hotels in the Philippines, such as the Philippine Plaza and the Manila Hotel, and five-star hotels in various countries, but frankly speaking, this is not a five-star hotel. We stayed for one night. When I booked the room, it clearly indicated that the maximum capacity was 3 people, and my booking was for 3 guests. The breakfast was also indicated as being for 3 people. However, the booking stated that we could check with the hotel upon arrival if the additional person would be free of charge or subject to an extra fee. I honestly wouldn’t have minded paying for an extra person’s breakfast.
However, when we arrived at the hotel and were checking in, I was charged for the third person, even though my booking clearly indicated 3 guests. Apparently, the third person was not included in the amount I paid through Trip.com. It was a bit confusing because what was indicated on the app did not seem to match the actual booking at the hotel. It clearly showed that my reservation was for 3 people.
Anyway, we were already there, so there was nothing much I could do except not let it ruin our mood because we just wanted to relax.
Now, when we entered the room, the TV was another issue. Almost none of the channels were watchable because the signal was so poor. It felt like we had to search for a signal just to get a clear picture. Nakakaloka! Thankfully, the Wi-Fi worked, and I was able to connect my Apple TV, so at least we were still able to watch something.
Another thing happened when my companion accidentally dropped their charger. When they looked under the bed, they found two oranges that seemed to have been left behind by the previous guest. That made us wonder if the rooms were being cleaned properly. There were also no power outlets near the bed and no outlet in the bathroom for a hair dryer, which was quite inconvenient.
As for breakfast, it was ₱799 per person. But the options were quite limited: rice, eggs, hotdog, corned beef, potato wedges, two kinds of fruit—papaya and watermelon—pandesal, and sliced bread. At one point, the bread almost caused their microwave to catch fire! They also had coffee and juice.
I was honestly disappointed because, considering the price, I expected more. For the same price, you can find all-you-can-eat breakfast options with a much wider variety of food.
In terms of service, though, the staff were very nice and helpful. That’s something I really can’t complain about.
The hotel itself is already quite old. I understand that it may be considered affordable, but even if the hotel is old, I still hoped that the overall experience would feel worth the price. For me, the breakfast was definitely not worth ₱799 per person.
For comparison, Manila Prince Hotel, which is more affordable than Bayview, exceeded my expectations. The hotel is also quite old, but the quality of their service—especially the breakfast—is on a completely different level.
Anyway, we still enjoyed our stay because we were there to relax and spend time together. But would I book again? Probably not, unless I really need to stay there because of its location and accessibility to the places I need to go.FromDKK 221

The experience of being able to see tropical fish from inside the room was truly special and wonderful! It was also a big plus that we could stay indoors without needing the air conditioning, even though it was hot outside. We were told the tank lights would be off from 9:15 PM to 6:15 AM and curtains would be drawn for cleaning from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM, but this was not actually the case.
Also, as other reviews might mention, check-in was quite busy. They explained that our room was ”under investigation and inaccessible,” and we ended up waiting in the lobby for 50 minutes. I felt that, in return, they should have offered us an extended check-out.FromDKK 281

This 8-day stay was a basic place to crash, but it felt like they cut too many corners, leading to a lot of issues:
1. The hot water relied on solar, so the temperature was often too low. After the staff switched to the boiler, the water pressure became abnormal, and there was a strong, foul odor from a broken septic pipe.
2. The room didn't have any drinking cups, so I had to use my own disposable ones. The space was a bit small, and the old window AC unit was really noisy, which made it hard to sleep.
3. Housekeeping was pretty lackluster. They only changed the bedding and did a quick wipe-down of the bathroom; the floor was never cleaned during my entire stay.

It's a 30-minute Grab ride from the airport if there's no traffic. The hotel is in a historical building, and you can really feel its grandeur in the lobby, hallways, and staircases. However, while it's near the coast, the surrounding area isn't very clean, so I wouldn't recommend walking around. A 5-minute Grab ride to Robinson Place will get you everything you need: a supermarket, a drugstore, and restaurants. We booked a suite room here because we had our wedding preparations at this hotel five years ago, and we expected the same quality of service and experience. Unfortunately, it feels very different now compared to before.
Last night, there were two people sleeping in the lobby who did not appear to be hotel guests. We were wondering why they were allowed to stay there, as we understood that the lobby is intended for hotel guests.
Additionally, the towels in our room appeared old and worn out. Overall, we believe that the cleanliness and security of the hotel should be reviewed and improved.
There was also a drunk individual outside the 7-Eleven last night who was saying things to us, which made us feel scared and uncomfortable. Although the staff did ask him to leave, we still would have appreciated an apology regarding the incident.

I was dissatisfied with the facilities I stayed in. The glue on the washbasin was black and mild, and it looked dirty. There are no toiletries, so forget it, we all have their own. But to vomit, the facility description is seriously inconsistent: 1. No hair dryer. The hotel said that there was a hair dryer, and the result was not in the room. 2. There is no 24-hour front desk service. First there is no front desk, the front desk is the public reception, not the hotel front desk, the hotel has an Office, at 24F, but not 24 hours service, service time is from 10 am to 7 pm, there will be a small list when you stay. The service time indicated above is 10am-7pm! 3, the most opinion is that the swimming pool is the building, not the hotel, the use of charges! The pool is charged! My initial starting point for booking this hotel is to have a swimming pool, but anyone can think that this swimming pool is a building, not a hotel. There is an extra charge for use, Philippine pesos for adults and PHP 150 for children. The only thing that is gratifying is that the responsible manager is a Taiwanese girl, very enthusiastic, has provided a lot of help, and the staff is very enthusiastic. I was so disappointed. The shower host from the bathroom was defective but in fairness it was repaired on the 2nd day midnight. And also no rubber bathroom mat (since the bathroom floor tiles is slippery) . They only produce the mat after my sister a pwd has warned them for any accident that she may incurred the front desk will be responsible. While the water heater is not 24 hours based on their post. Water heater resume on my 3rd day stay. The four treadmills at the gym are also not working it is all under maintenance.

Our stay at this hotel was overall average. There are few areas that need improvement. The carpet was not clean, which made the space feel less comfortable and not maintained as expected. Cleanliness is very important to guest.
Additionally, the breakfast buffet did not offer many choices. The selection was quiet limited.

I had a great stay at Hotel Benilde. The location is very accessible, making it easy to get around the area. The staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating, always ready to assist with a smile. The hotel itself was super clean, which made my stay even more comfortable.
The only downside was the limited breakfast options, which is why I decided not to avail of it. Instead, I opted to eat at KFC, which is conveniently located right next to the hotel.
Overall, I highly recommend Hotel Benilde for its excellent service, cleanliness, and prime location. Just keep in mind that if you’re looking for a wider breakfast selection, you might want to explore nearby options.FromDKK 297

Good location for nightlife.
The view from the balcony is also good.
Good thing, these two are the end.
The interior of the building is very old because it is unmanaged.
There are many Chinese people inside the building, so it is inconvenient to use the elevator.
It's particularly annoying when I use it at mealtimes.
Room condition is special. I used to buy toiletries personally.

Good points:
The room is spacious. The water pressure is excellent, and there's no unpleasant smell. The elevator is electronic (some people might find it a bit tricky to operate).
The location is good. Breakfast is affordable. The safe is sturdy and electronic, which gives me peace of mind.
Bad points:
The rooms facing the street are too noisy... motorcycle sounds, siren noises, etc. I couldn't sleep well.
Maybe it was just my room, but there was an old, musty smell... like a building smell from being unused for a long time. (I was too tired and bothered to complain, so I just aired it out and slept).
Areas for improvement:
The front desk staff seemed a bit bland... I wish they would greet guests with a more smiling face.
I wish the area in front of the hotel was cleaner... when it rains heavily, the mud makes it slippery, so you have to walk around carefully.
I wish the room lighting was brighter... the room's interior is black and red, and with the dim lighting, it felt a bit stuffy (my personal preference).FromDKK 183

The staff were extremely accommodating,helpful and friendly which was great. They offered a morning breakfast which was really appetising! Another big plus was the spacious room which made our stay very comfortable. Just the bed mattress was old and didn’t offer much support (had problems sleeping and experienced back pain) as well the location wasn’t ideal for my partner and I who enjoy roaming around on foot. Didnt feel safe and was very dirty outside. Another positive, it’s a stone throw away from the large Robinson’s Mall which was great too!FromDKK 124

Exceeded my expectations. The room is clean and big. We had the basics plus a small tv and a fridge. Floor is carpeted but it surprisingly doesn’t have the usual bad smell. You could tell that the room was well-maintained. Wifi is acceptable but not that reliable for video conference. Since the hotel is really old, you can’t see “modern” things in the room. And that’s okay. All the staff are friendly and never missed to greet us. Parking infront of the hotel felt safer. Overall, Hotel Miramar is a catch! Overall it was a good stay, they give the breakfast for examinees at 4 AM to accomodate for our schedule so that's considerate. The room is neat and relatively clean too, I say relatively because there's a suspicious reddish stain on one of the pillow and one of the towels, we just didn't use those. For improvement though, I wish they included a hairdryer in the room like they said they would on the included amenities, I would've brought mine if I knew it's not gonna be included in the room. Also, the inside and crevices of the toilet isn't cleaned, not a big problem but as a clean freak, I was a bit bothered about that.FromDKK 155

This hotel has a great location, surrounded by plenty of bars, restaurants, and various massage places, which is really nice. The photos I've uploaded are genuine and accurately depict the hotel. My main suggestion would be to improve the air conditioning; some rooms definitely need their AC units replaced. The area is bustling with large malls and hotels, and there are all sorts of food options available, which is fantastic. I mean, it's fine if the hotel isn't newly renovated, but it wouldn't be difficult to at least provide better towels and working air conditioning, right? Just getting some new towels and bed sheets would make a big difference. After all, we travelers work hard too! Simple but perfectly clean room and bed. It is convenient to get from/to the airport, so we took a room between flights. Absolutely friendly guys at the reception. We reached the historical area of Intramuros on foot in 25-30 minutes. The area is very calm. If you don’t expect anything extraordinary from the room, then don’t hesitate to book! 100% recommend!
