The Manila Hotel has an old but elegant and luxurious style. Marble and stone finishing, tall ceilings and a grand piano at the back with a musician playing pleasant music greets you as you walk through the entrance.
Lacking points from my personal experience:
1. The carpet floors need to be replaced. I had to change rooms because the first room I got had an unpleasant smell to it (they quickly changed my room after I went to the reception, so it wasn't terrible) and although I didn't notice until the end of my stay, the new room's carpet was frayed at the edges.
2. The night mode of the lights (many switches) completely cuts power to the power outlets. I didn't know and ended up waking up to a phone and power bank with a dying battery and needing to stay in the hotel a couple of hours until they finished charging. Maybe just a warning in the future?
The good parts:
1. The service! People are SO accommodating, pleasant and efficient. Reception staff, waiters, bell boys and basically everyone greets you with a smile and tries to solve any problems with utmost focus and cordiality.
2. Traditional pride. Traditional fashion exhibition at the front was a great touch to my visit. The whole place (restaurants, pools, spa, rooms, etc) add to the experience. I could have stayed in the hotel and felt like I hadn't missed Manila's charm.
3. Excellent location. I realised early on that I could literally see every single thing from my ”1 day tour of Manila” from my hotel room. Nothing says great location like this.FromINR 8,609

I traveled to the Philippines to visit relatives. It was my mother's birthday, so we stayed in Manila. Whenever I stayed in Manila, I always stayed at the Philippine Plaza, but as soon as I found out it had closed, I started looking for a hotel. My requirements were that it be located on Roxas Boulevard, have good access to the airport and tourist attractions, and have good security. After searching and reading reviews, I decided that this hotel was ideal. I arrived early in the morning by overnight bus, but they kindly allowed me to leave my luggage before check-in and go out for breakfast. They also made arrangements to ensure a smooth check-in. I had mentioned in advance that it was my mother's birthday, and unexpectedly, a lovely birthday cake was waiting in our room. The room was clean, and the front desk staff provided wonderful service with smiles before, during, and after check-in. However, I was disappointed by the manners and attitude of some guests. Dogs were roaming freely in the restaurant and near the front desk (the website I checked said that pets were not allowed, but the hotel actually allowed them). There were also people walking down the corridors soaking wet. The most shocking thing was that, although we know it was our mistake, my mother's coat, which she had left near the front desk, went missing. It was an expensive coat that she cherished. My mother, myself, and everyone traveling with us remembered losing the coat at the hotel, so we checked with the staff multiple times, but it couldn't be found. It was almost certainly stolen inside the hotel. I don't know if they checked the security camera footage. I have stayed at famous hotels in the Philippines, such as the Philippine Plaza and the Manila Hotel, and five-star hotels in various countries, but frankly speaking, this is not a five-star hotel. First of all, I'm grateful that I found a great deal through Trip.com, almost 50% off with breakfast included!
As I've mentioned in a previous review for another hotel, I'm generally not a fan of older hotels. However, Manila Prince Hotel pleasantly surprised me. The property is very well maintained and has an excellent location, with popular attractions such as the National Museum, Rizal Park, Fort Santiago, and even Chinatown nearby.
What stood out to me the most:
The Service
The staff were amazing! Everyone was attentive, courteous, and pleasant, from the guards and concierge to the receptionists and room service staff. I could tell they are well-trained and professional. Special shoutout to Sir Ivan for taking such good care of us and even taking the time to play a little with our son. You truly made our day!
Another thing I appreciated was how accommodating they were. I needed a needle and thread to sew a piece of clothing, and they were able to provide it promptly.
The Buffet Breakfast
There were plenty of options, everything we tried was delicious, and it offered great value for the price.
The Room
The room is definitely old, but it was clean and came with complete amenities. I also appreciated the complimentary items provided, such as bottled water, coffee, and tea, which made our stay even more comfortable.
One thing I would suggest to management is to gradually replace some of the older fixtures and items that are already showing signs of wear. For example, the bathroom rubber mat had some mold spots, likely due to moisture, and the toilet paper holder had a bit of rust.

I recently stayed at City Garden Suites and would like to share both a commendation and some constructive feedback regarding my experience.
First, I would like to highly commend Ms. Zsan for her outstanding service. After being assigned to a room that, while clean, had an unpleasant odor, I approached the front desk again for assistance. Ms. Zsan handled the situation with genuine care and professionalism. She went beyond simply checking the system—she actively coordinated with housekeeping via radio to personally verify room availability. Her initiative, attentiveness, and willingness to help truly define excellent customer service. She made us feel heard and valued, and her dedication reflects the kind of frontline service that leaves a lasting positive impression.
On the other hand, I would like to offer constructive feedback regarding my experience with Ms. Acel. As a guest, first impressions matter, and my initial interaction with her during check-in was not very reassuring. When I inquired about the possibility of being assigned to a newly renovated room, I was informed that none were available, without much effort to further check or explore options. This gave me the impression that my request was not fully considered.
The following day, when I needed to extend my stay, I spoke with her over the phone and requested an update regarding my concern, emphasizing the urgency as I needed to secure the current room rate online. However, after waiting for around 30 minutes without any callback, I had to follow up myself. During the follow-up, she asked for details I had already communicated earlier, which made it seem like the information was not properly noted or attended to.
On the third day, I needed to extend my booking again. To avoid the same experience, I went directly to the front desk. Unfortunately, she was again the one available. Despite my previous experience, I still chose to give her another chance, hoping for a better interaction. However, the experience remained the same. Because of this, instead of extending my stay further, I decided to transfer to another hotel.
I hope this feedback is received constructively. Frontline staff play a crucial role in shaping the overall guest experience. While Ms. Zsan demonstrated exceptional service and professionalism, there is an opportunity for improvement in consistency, attentiveness, and proactive assistance. We stayed for one night. When I booked the room, it clearly indicated that the maximum capacity was 3 people, and my booking was for 3 guests. The breakfast was also indicated as being for 3 people. However, the booking stated that we could check with the hotel upon arrival if the additional person would be free of charge or subject to an extra fee. I honestly wouldn’t have minded paying for an extra person’s breakfast.
However, when we arrived at the hotel and were checking in, I was charged for the third person, even though my booking clearly indicated 3 guests. Apparently, the third person was not included in the amount I paid through Trip.com. It was a bit confusing because what was indicated on the app did not seem to match the actual booking at the hotel. It clearly showed that my reservation was for 3 people.
Anyway, we were already there, so there was nothing much I could do except not let it ruin our mood because we just wanted to relax.
Now, when we entered the room, the TV was another issue. Almost none of the channels were watchable because the signal was so poor. It felt like we had to search for a signal just to get a clear picture. Nakakaloka! Thankfully, the Wi-Fi worked, and I was able to connect my Apple TV, so at least we were still able to watch something.
Another thing happened when my companion accidentally dropped their charger. When they looked under the bed, they found two oranges that seemed to have been left behind by the previous guest. That made us wonder if the rooms were being cleaned properly. There were also no power outlets near the bed and no outlet in the bathroom for a hair dryer, which was quite inconvenient.
As for breakfast, it was ₱799 per person. But the options were quite limited: rice, eggs, hotdog, corned beef, potato wedges, two kinds of fruit—papaya and watermelon—pandesal, and sliced bread. At one point, the bread almost caused their microwave to catch fire! They also had coffee and juice.
I was honestly disappointed because, considering the price, I expected more. For the same price, you can find all-you-can-eat breakfast options with a much wider variety of food.
In terms of service, though, the staff were very nice and helpful. That’s something I really can’t complain about.
The hotel itself is already quite old. I understand that it may be considered affordable, but even if the hotel is old, I still hoped that the overall experience would feel worth the price. For me, the breakfast was definitely not worth ₱799 per person.
For comparison, Manila Prince Hotel, which is more affordable than Bayview, exceeded my expectations. The hotel is also quite old, but the quality of their service—especially the breakfast—is on a completely different level.
Anyway, we still enjoyed our stay because we were there to relax and spend time together. But would I book again? Probably not, unless I really need to stay there because of its location and accessibility to the places I need to go.FromINR 3,281

This 8-day stay was a basic place to crash, but it felt like they cut too many corners, leading to a lot of issues:
1. The hot water relied on solar, so the temperature was often too low. After the staff switched to the boiler, the water pressure became abnormal, and there was a strong, foul odor from a broken septic pipe.
2. The room didn't have any drinking cups, so I had to use my own disposable ones. The space was a bit small, and the old window AC unit was really noisy, which made it hard to sleep.
3. Housekeeping was pretty lackluster. They only changed the bedding and did a quick wipe-down of the bathroom; the floor was never cleaned during my entire stay.

It's a 30-minute Grab ride from the airport if there's no traffic. The hotel is in a historical building, and you can really feel its grandeur in the lobby, hallways, and staircases. However, while it's near the coast, the surrounding area isn't very clean, so I wouldn't recommend walking around. A 5-minute Grab ride to Robinson Place will get you everything you need: a supermarket, a drugstore, and restaurants. We booked a suite room here because we had our wedding preparations at this hotel five years ago, and we expected the same quality of service and experience. Unfortunately, it feels very different now compared to before.
Last night, there were two people sleeping in the lobby who did not appear to be hotel guests. We were wondering why they were allowed to stay there, as we understood that the lobby is intended for hotel guests.
Additionally, the towels in our room appeared old and worn out. Overall, we believe that the cleanliness and security of the hotel should be reviewed and improved.
There was also a drunk individual outside the 7-Eleven last night who was saying things to us, which made us feel scared and uncomfortable. Although the staff did ask him to leave, we still would have appreciated an apology regarding the incident.

It was the coolest room I’ve stayed here ever.
Cuz we were 4, so needed a big room or connected room. The price of the room was reasonable & the room was flawless aside from the weakness of the water pressure in the shower. They also serve breakfast and tastes good enough even though one of my company is quite picky. But the thing you have to be aware before booking the room here is that it can be a bit noisy if there’re children at the pool.

I was dissatisfied with the facilities I stayed in. The glue on the washbasin was black and mild, and it looked dirty. There are no toiletries, so forget it, we all have their own. There is no 24-hour front desk service. I was so disappointed. The shower host from the bathroom was defective but in fairness it was repaired on the 2nd day midnight. And also no rubber bathroom mat (since the bathroom floor tiles is slippery) . They only produce the mat after my sister a pwd has warned them for any accident that she may incurred the front desk will be responsible. While the water heater is not 24 hours based on their post. Water heater resume on my 3rd day stay. The four treadmills at the gym are also not working it is all under maintenance.

Booked this hotel for one night. Overall, it was okay, but nothing special. The room actually looked different from the photos on Trip. There was no soap in the room, or the dispenser wasn't working. The AC was noisy, but it was very stuffy without it. There's a window. The bed was a bit hard, and there was no duvet, just some kind of blanket without a cover. On the plus side, good water pressure, running water, and two towels. The staff were generally friendly; they stored our luggage after check-out and covered it with a net. Breakfast was decent and included in the price. Overall, this hotel is fine for a one or two-night stay—it's pretty average, nothing outstanding. For the price, it's acceptable.FromINR 2,557

Great place! This is a boutique hotel that has around 80 rooms. The hotel was originally a bank but was later acquired by the university then turned into a teaching hotel.
The view from some areas is beautiful and you can see the walls of Intramuros.
Also, if you don’t decide to stay here, at least go to the restaurant on the top floor(Sky Deck). The sunsets are beautiful from there and the food is good.FromINR 6,421

During or stay they were very soft, we can understand some people may prfer that.
It would be perfect if there was a choice in mattress. very big plus was the breakfast. for descent price it is well worth to purchase the breakfast coupons.

Our stay at this hotel was overall average. There are few areas that need improvement. The carpet was not clean, which made the space feel less comfortable and not maintained as expected. Cleanliness is very important to guest.
Additionally, the breakfast buffet did not offer many choices. The selection was quiet limited.

Good points:
The room is spacious. The water pressure is excellent, and there's no unpleasant smell. The elevator is electronic (some people might find it a bit tricky to operate).
The location is good. Breakfast is affordable. The safe is sturdy and electronic, which gives me peace of mind.
Bad points:
The rooms facing the street are too noisy... motorcycle sounds, siren noises, etc. I couldn't sleep well.
Maybe it was just my room, but there was an old, musty smell... like a building smell from being unused for a long time. (I was too tired and bothered to complain, so I just aired it out and slept).
Areas for improvement:
The front desk staff seemed a bit bland... I wish they would greet guests with a more smiling face.
I wish the area in front of the hotel was cleaner... when it rains heavily, the mud makes it slippery, so you have to walk around carefully.

The staff were extremely accommodating,helpful and friendly which was great. They offered a morning breakfast which was really appetising! Another big plus was the spacious room which made our stay very comfortable. Just the bed mattress was old and didn’t offer much support (had problems sleeping and experienced back pain) as well the location wasn’t ideal for my partner and I who enjoy roaming around on foot. While updates have been done to the rooms, Unfortunately, the elevator was not working during my stay (30-31 May 2026), and the toilet flush did not work. This hotel has a great location, surrounded by plenty of bars, restaurants, and various massage places, which is really nice. The photos I've uploaded are genuine and accurately depict the hotel. My main suggestion would be to improve the air conditioning; some rooms definitely need their AC units replaced. The area is bustling with large malls and hotels, and there are all sorts of food options available, which is fantastic. I mean, it's fine if the hotel isn't newly renovated, but it wouldn't be difficult to at least provide better towels and working air conditioning, right? Just getting some new towels and bed sheets would make a big difference. After all, we travelers work hard too! Simple but perfectly clean room and bed. It is convenient to get from/to the airport, so we took a room between flights. Absolutely friendly guys at the reception. We reached the historical area of Intramuros on foot in 25-30 minutes. The area is very calm. If you don’t expect anything extraordinary from the room, then don’t hesitate to book! 100% recommend!
