The premier room is located at the end of the wing, near the fire exit. The self-closing swing door is quite noisy, and soundproofing between rooms isn't great. The ambiance and decor are classic, old-style, and grand. The bed is quite high off the ground, but the thick mattress is comfortable. Even though you use a key card to turn on the lights, you have to manually switch off each individual lamp. The bathroom is large, with sufficient shampoo, shower gel, and lotion in pump bottles. The shower is still a combination shower-bathtub. Breakfast offers a good variety. Other meals are pricey but worth it for the quality and taste. Service: Pretty mediocre, hard to believe this is a Pullman. I arrived at the hotel around 6 AM due to an early flight and asked if early check-in was possible. The front desk said the room was ready, but there would be a fee for early check-in, which I understood. I asked how much it would be, and the front desk wrote down 4500 Thai Baht, which was more than a night's stay. I found this ridiculous. My friend and I decided to store our luggage instead and forgo early check-in. The front desk gave us a luggage tag and said we could pick up our room key directly with it at 2 PM.
Around 1 PM, we returned from sightseeing and asked the front desk if we could check in. They said the room wasn't ready and was still being cleaned, even though the morning front desk agent had stated the room was available. So we asked another front desk agent, who then, to our surprise, simply pulled our room key from a box next to the phone on the counter and said we could check in...
Facilities: Very old and dated. I definitely won't choose this hotel again on my next trip to Bangkok. The toiletries in the shower were difficult to use; the dispensers were hard to press. This hotel was booked for a one-night stay as we had an evening flight after attending an exhibition with family. In conclusion, while the hotel was larger than expected, it felt a bit old, and the carpet in the hallways had a strong musty smell. However, once inside the room, it was fine. The air conditioning seemed to be centrally controlled, and it was quite hot from the morning, which was a bit uncomfortable. Also, make sure to bring your own hairdryer. The one provided was so weak it was almost unusable; it felt like a ventilation fan, so I gave up trying to dry my hair and just left. For around 50,000 won, it's not a bad place. I absolutely enjoyed the stay so much I wanted to extend my trip because of this hotel! The service was top notch, similar to the experience I had at a luxury hotel in Singapore!
The receptionist accompanies you to the room, pointing out the different facilities and where you are able to find everything!
This hotel is also the tallest in Chinatown, so the sunset view is gorgeous at the very top, where there is a 360 panoramic view in a revolving restaurant and bar.
However, I enjoyed the 17th level bar even more, as they have a nostalgia set when I was there, costing only 450 baht for soup, salad, pizza and 2 pints of beer!
P.S Colouring my hair (roots) was 800baht at the salon downstairs, look for TangMo! She did a wonderful job and even threw in hair treatment at this price! I stayed at Asia Hotel for two days back in October 2019. At the time, part of the hotel was under renovation, and half of my window was blocked, which was a bit of a mood killer. But because I really value its excellent location and super convenient access, I decided to stay there again for three nights this time. The hotel lobby has since been redecorated and looks much better than it did seven years ago. The hallways and rooms, however, don't seem to have changed much. It still has that old-hotel charm, which I actually prefer; many newly opened hotels these days feel too cramped and oppressive. The breakfast buffet didn't have a huge variety, but it covered Thai, American, pastries, and fruits, so there was definitely enough to eat. We had a nice experience here! Compliments especially to the friendly doorman — he left such an impression on me because he greeted us so enthusiastically every day.
Check-in was quick and easy.
Our room was clean and spacious, the bed was comfy, the shower hot with good water pressure, and they had actual conditioner. WiFi was fast, and housekeeping was thorough every day and kept replacing our amenities even though we didn’t need it, lol. Plus we had a great view of the amazing city view nearby. So beautiful!
Location was beyond excellent! Close to both the Nana BTS, and has a private turnaround area for taxis/Grabs, so take your pick really. This particular combination is kind of rare, actually, since the two systems don’t overlap a lot. We picked this location over Sukhumvit at Nana because it’s closer to all of the places. There is also a small night market nearby, both of the food and the flesh variety, though the latter is easily avoidable if you wish (it’s not seedy tho). To be honest, the night market felt really touristy and the options were quite limited. My first trip to Bangkok, and while browsing hotels on Trip.com, I stumbled upon the cheapest Banyan Tree in all of Asia. As a budget traveler, I couldn't resist! I just had to experience staying at a Banyan Tree. Honestly, for the price, I have no regrets. While the room facilities are a bit dated, you can tell they've been meticulously maintained, and everything is very clean. The service, especially with Chinese-speaking staff, was fantastic – truly excellent. I have to praise the breakfast; it was absolutely delicious. They had marinated raw salmon and Hainanese chicken rice which was so good. Their Americano coffee was also excellent. I recently stayed at Grand Mercure Bangkok Atrium room 842 from 27 May to 1 June and would like to share some feedback regarding my experience.
First and foremost, I would like to emphasize that I genuinely enjoyed my stay. The hotel, facilities, and the majority of the team members provided excellent service, and overall I had a pleasant experience.
In fact, I am not the type of guest who frequently raises complaints. During my travels, I spend very little time in my hotel room. Most of my day is spent outside the property, and my interaction with the hotel is generally limited to breakfast and sleeping. As such, it takes a significant issue for me to feel compelled to formally raise a concern.
The first issue relates to breakfast. During my stay, I invited a Muslim friend to join me for breakfast. He entered the restaurant with me but did not consume any food because he was unable to find suitable options that met his dietary requirements. While I acknowledge that I did not raise this directly with the restaurant team at the time, I was surprised when Reception later informed me that they had verified that my friend had taken breakfast.
From my perspective, entering the restaurant should not automatically be considered as consuming breakfast when no food was actually taken. Nevertheless, I have decided to let this matter rest and move on.
The second issue is far more serious and is the primary reason for this email.
On my final night at the hotel, I was expecting a visitor. However, Reception did not contact me to verify whether I was expecting anyone before allowing my visitor access to the guest floors. Instead, my visitor was simply directed to my room and arrived at my door unannounced.
Having worked within the Accor group for approximately 15 years as a Duty Manager in Singapore, I am very familiar with hotel operational procedures, guest privacy standards, and security protocols. It has always been my understanding that when a visitor arrives for an in-house guest, Reception should first contact the guest to obtain authorization before granting access to the room floors.
While my visitor was indeed expected on this occasion, Reception had no way of knowing that without contacting me first. Had the visitor not been known to me, this could have resulted in a serious security and privacy issue. In my professional opinion, allowing a visitor direct access to a guest room without prior verification is unacceptable and falls short of the standards expected from an Accor property.
What further disappointed me was the handling of the matter after I raised my concern.
I wish to be clear that I am not seeking compensation of any kind. My concern is not financial. Rather, I expect an appropriate resolution and acknowledgement of the seriousness of the issue. Simply being told ”sorry” was not sufficient given the nature of the security lapse.
The alternatives presented to me by the Night Manager were also, in my view, unreasonable. One option was for me to move to another room on my final night. Considering that I was due to check out the following morning, I found this solution impractical and disruptive. Being asked to pack my belongings and relocate because of an issue that was not caused by me did not seem to be an appropriate resolution.
I was also informed that a Reception Manager would speak with me. However, I was unable to wait indefinitely for the manager's arrival. As a guest who was raising a legitimate concern, I do not believe I should have been expected to delay my evening plans or remain available for an uncertain period of time. Furthermore, I was scheduled to leave the hotel at 7:00 AM the next morning in order to arrive at the airport early for my flight.
For these reasons, I felt that the issue was not properly addressed during my stay, which is why I am bringing it directly to your attention.

**Facilities:** The room facilities were pretty standard. The swimming pool on the 8th floor was particularly great, and there's also a gym. It's actually quite a large gym for a hotel, with plenty of equipment, more than enough for a good workout.

Taxis in Bangkok are incredibly slow due to traffic, so I recommend taking the Skytrain, even though the cost isn't cheap – it's comparable to a taxi fare, but at least you won't get stuck. Overall, it's definitely not a 9-star hotel, despite the rating here.
The room is good, small, but has everything you need. That's one thing the hotel gets right. I especially want to highlight the washing machine with dryer; we did laundry every evening, and detergent was provided. It was also convenient for drying swimsuits after using the pool. There's one drawback: you have to wait about two minutes for hot water in the shower.
Unfortunately, the breakfasts, which are unavoidable when booking, really spoil the experience. However, if you're a fan of eggs and sausages, you'll be fine. The rest of the food isn't great – a mix of vegetables, chicken, lots of batter, and rice. Packaged yogurts were also edible. After about three days, we were dragging ourselves to breakfast. Breakfast is served in the hotel's Coffee Club, which has a student cafeteria vibe. Tables are arranged in pairs, so you'll practically be elbowing your neighbor's plate and participating in their conversations. If you're unlucky, you'll have to queue because there aren't enough seats for everyone.
The pool is small but compensated by good hydro-massage. I didn't go to the onsen; sitting naked in a bath with strangers isn't our tradition.
One more thing about the service. Even if a hotel positions itself as a 4-star establishment, guests, especially older ones, shouldn't have to carry their own luggage to their room upon check-in. I don't understand why there aren't staff available for this.FromPHP 5,444

We stayed for two nights and booked a one-bedroom suite. Everything seemed great: the room was clean, service was good, breakfast was enjoyable, and the location was excellent. The only peculiar thing for a 5-star hotel was the empty mini-bar. The pools were fantastic, and the view was splendid.
What I didn't like, and didn't see mentioned in other reviews (if I had, I definitely wouldn't have stayed here), was the 'closed' door connecting to the next room. You could hear the neighbors extremely clearly, which was quite bothersome. I had no desire to hear our Chinese neighbors or see light spilling from under their door at 1 or 2 AM. We definitely won't be staying at this hotel again, or perhaps we'd need to book a higher room category.FromPHP 7,310

The privacy here is excellent. You need a card to access the check-in area, and there's a designated waiting area for guests outside. When checking in, they offer a soft drink menu and snacks! Upon arrival, you're greeted with welcome champagne, fruit, and more snacks. The pool is uncrowded, perfect for a refreshing swim. The breakfast is absolutely delicious – a must-try! A good location hotel with foods, shopping around. Everything was good just that was not that very soundproof. Every day we go out at 12pm but around 9am onwards the corridor was quite noisy as the hotel cleaners is cleaning other rooms talking quite loudly. The hotel cleaner is good and assisting us to clear the rubbish etc just that if can lower down the volume will be better. Will consider to book this hotel again since overall is good! Can consider to stay if going for budget hotel (a 5 mins walk from center point hotel).FromPHP 1,793
