For a small hotel, the room is pretty big! The breakfast buffet was impressive but what was inconvenient were the stairs in between rooms. However being a heritage building it is understandable as they tried to keep most of the facets. The staff were extremely helpful with my luggage and I noticed a majority of them were female! I felt safe and taken care of here as a solo female traveler!

Walls are thin, you can hear your neighbours if they are loud. In our case, we had a loud man staying next to our room on the first night. Our room was really far from the lift area I’m not kidding it was really deep inside. It is not convenient for elderly and young families. While we were there, the main automatic door was down for 2 out of 4 days. Like what many others mentioned, getting up or off your private car was an absolute nightmare as there is no drop off point or foyer. The hotel is newly renovated but there are already signs of age/use. The only saving grace was raffles city is 1 min away.

Very friendly staff, all you need is to contact them via WeChat and they offer free shuttle service to and from PVG Airport regardless of the timing, so as long as it’s one day in advance. Disneyland shuttle service is offered to and fro, FOC as well! A supper buffet is available daily, good for those who wish to have a meal after long days at Disney.
The staff are very accommodating and helpful, even offered us a free upgrade when we requested a more spacious room for our luggage.
Rooms are clean and spacious, very comfortable.
There are lots of facilities nearby, including food options and a metro station 5 minutes away.
Overall, would recommend!

During winter period, suggest travellers to book room with window! In case theirs is a centralized heater. We encountered the room to be super stuffy and the aircon has been configured to heater only so we requested for a standing fan but it was a bad experience. Luckily upon contacting trip and they managed to make arrangements for us the next day! Glad on how they managed the situation!

While check-in was satisfactory, more comprehensive information regarding hotel amenities and room features would be beneficial. Overall, it's an excellent hotel, though the quality of the view is contingent upon the assigned room type.

ККонстантин СеврюковThe hotel is located in the very center of Shanghai, offering a fantastically beautiful view. There is direct access from the hotel to a huge shopping mall (mainly featuring high-end brands) and the metro. On the top floor, there’s a swimming pool—not very deep, but enough for a swim. The room had all the necessary amenities: a worn-out ironing board and iron (I had a similar one back in 2007), a drip coffee maker (without filters), and a dirty, shabby toaster. The internet, TVs, bathroom, and beds were excellent.
The downsides: there was a strong smell in the room and the corridors. This really bothered me, as it reminded me of the scent of an old grandmother’s closet where we used to play hide-and-seek. To me, it smelled like old carpets and rotting cloth. By the end of the week, I almost stopped noticing it, but when I unpacked my suitcase at home, I realized I had brought that smell back with me. Another downside is the cleanliness. On close inspection, there was plenty of dirt and dust in the corners and under the beds. The dishes were washed terribly, with food residue left on the forks.
The front desk staff are competent and speak decent English. There is a luggage storage facility as well.

AAnonymous UserLuxury experience, home away from home - an unforgettable hotel
As a foreign tourist, I am very satisfied with the service and facilities of this hotel. The hotel is strategically located, convenient transportation, and surrounded by abundant food and shopping places. The rooms are spacious and bright, tastefully decorated, and the beds are comfortable for a good night's sleep. What impressed me most was the service of the hotel staff. Mathys and Eden were warm and thoughtful and patiently answered all my questions, which made me feel the warmth of home. In addition, the hotel's Chinese and Western breakfast is also memorable. All in all, this experience made me feel very much at home, and I will choose this hotel again next time I come to China!
XXxxxhcOverall the place location is good and the hotel staff tries their best in every aspect. The only downside is that the hotel lobby and the lift corridors smells really bad. It will be good if they can invest in a scent for the whole hotel. Room wise it is good size and have basic amenities.

FFeliciaFront desk staff, ”Yu” is really rude. We booked two room for 4 nights each. We just wanted to ask if the bed is queen or king bed but she kept telling us it is 1.5m length and does not want to listen to our explanation at all. We spoke in full mandarin and just used English for Queen and King bed and she shouted at us and say speak in Mandarin, don't speak in English! However, the listing states that the hotel can speak both English and Mandarin. She said she worked in Guangzhou and can understand cantonese but when we spoke in cantonese, she does not even understand or could reply us.
If she is unable to speak English or do not know how to answer our questions, she could have directed us to another staff. She also screamed at me and said we are not hotel, we are just a condo after we just questioned about the bed type. The reason to question is that during the trip my mother injure herself and she is unable to stay at second story and my dad need to take care of her at the first story so if it is a king bed, both of them can sleep together and they can leave the upper storey empty. During this time, there was no other guests at the reception so there is no reason to be so impatient and impolite. On another day at night, another receptionist was also very rude to us when we enquire about our delivery package.
Another issue was the housekeeping and my clumps of long hair that was dropped on the floor and eyelashes extension was not vacuum away. The room is quite dirty at some corners as well. Some rooms have washing machine while another room type does not have and the common washing machine need to pay money. Fortunately it was a short stay for us.
Linda, the front desk receptionist on the other hand was really nice and patient but unfortunately we only got to know her on the second last day of our stay. Hope all the other staff will undergo training and provide the same level of service as Linda. It's the first time to encounter such service. I'm a frequent traveler to China, at least four times within 6 months. Each trip for two weeks.
JJimzuReview from Singaporean couple .
Pleas download Gaode map to use in china. Hotel easy to find . I took cab. Nearby a lot of food and walk to Jingan temple only 7min. Near to train line 2. Train line 2 super easy to go nanjing road and multiple place including direct to pudong airport .
Go to level 16 and check in. Room was clean daily . Love the washer cum dryer so I no bed bring alot of clothes . Please bring own detergent . Air con was super shiok! Cold ! Mini living space ! Butler thru WeChat was helpful. Beside mall has supermarket and food . This place location was awsome ! I will stay again . Slight issue was toilet shower drainage abit slow … so need to shower slowly. Do not put high expectation . It’s a service apartment concept . The door step BBQ meat meat by the XinJiang stall super delicious !

GGuest UserWe had a pleasant stay at Baselite. The location is decent - there's no metro station very close, but there are 3 lines within 15 minutes. Check-in was a little tough with the language barrier, including lots of inspection and photos of visas that have nothing to do with China. There's an adequately-equipped gym, a yoga room that was hardly ever in use, and a shared kitchen where some of the longer-term residents seem to hang out. Each room also has a kitchen, but we were given no kitchen supplies whatsoever at the beginning - not even a cup or a set of chopsticks. Everything was clean and functional though. Can recommend.

GGuest UserThe luxurious one-bedroom hotel-style apartment is very good, suitable for us to live with our dogs. The room is 45 square meters, very large and very clean. Since we have our dogs, we don’t have to worry about the housekeeping department and clean up the surrounding environment by ourselves. It's very nice, quiet, the garden is clean, there is a large lawn for the dogs to play, and we are very conscious about picking up dog poop. There are also many catering services around, including Starbucks, Luckin, coffee shops, restaurants, etc. The most important thing is that this place allows dogs to stay, and I feel love and respect for pets. Although it is a hotel, you can bring pets to live with you, and it is very clean. There is no peculiar smell, which shows that the hotel works hard. The kitchen in the room has everything we need, which is convenient for us to make simple meals. Needs some improvement. The navigation easily takes us to the opposite community. It was difficult to find it the first time. There is also a sensor light in the closet of the room, which is good and bad. Haha, there is something wrong with the high technology. The attitude of the service staff is particularly friendly. We will still choose this pet-friendly hotel when we come to Shanghai again
GGuest UserIt was my first time to arrive in Shanghai late at night. I had a good experience after staying for one night. I extended my stay for another two nights. It is very suitable for girls. The front desk upgraded the room for free. Thank you!
AAilian O.Ascott at HuaiHai (Middle) Road has an excellent location, there are bus stops and metro stations (no.1, 2, 14 lines), shopping malls and a variety of cafes and restaurants that suit different pockets nearby. Xintaidi is also a stone's throw away. Behind the hotel is a lovely and good sized public park for walks and runs. I deeply appreciated the fact my room came with a fully equipped kitchenette with washer! While the furnishings may be a little dated, the cleanliness and excellent services provided by the staff more than made up for anything that could be amissed. A big shout out to my (11th) floor housekeeper, Mdm Ling Xin Mei (凌心梅阿姨). She noticed that I consumed all my mineral water on day 1 and left me more bottles on the second day of my stay. Throughout my 7 days stay, she made sure I always have sufficient mineral water, shower supplies and ear plugs...she always leave me a note wishing me a good day and stay. She made me feel well taken care of and I felt at home while staying at Ascott, room number 1105 from Nov 7 to 13, 2024. I want to return to stay the next time I visit Shanghai.

GGuest UserStayed for 4D3N. Super good location next to aeast Nanjing Station. If you have big luggage, please go to exit 2 as there is an upward and downward escalator. Exit 5 is closer to the hotel if you don't have luggage. The specky male staff at the counter was rather rude and relatively unfriendly when we first stepped in to inform that we have a booking for 3 nights. Instead of greeting or welcoming us, he immediately confronted us that check in time was only after 2pm. Well, we just wanna inform him that we are the guests and want to store our luggage with the hotel. But the FIRST impression towards the hotel was going down to the drain! They provide free luggage storing your luggage which is rather good but just leave it beside the lifts and the side of front counter. We were given a room on the fourth floor. The room was spacious and looked cosy. the room has a tv box with some old ancient movies or dramas. The bed was very cosy and comfortable. The room has a washing machine, stove but no kitchen utensils were given. You need to get yourself the toothbrushes at the registration counter during registration. The water shower pressure during our stay was extremely small. It was kind of frustrating as after a long day out and back to the hotel but without a good showering. The water pressure is not only small but the water temperature is also very unstable. Only on the last night of staying, the water pressure was ok. The hair dryer was also damaged when we wanted to make use of it. The dryer will get very hot and even can see some sparkling coming out but no air blowing out. The steps next to the tatami beds were not even. It is quite dangerous if you are staying with kids or elderly. The house keeping will come to your room to clean if you didn't ask not to, she will be very likely to throw away anything on the table that looks like rubbish to her Therefore, please do not simply put anything that you want on the table, otherwise it might get dumped away. Overall, the stay was considered pleasant if you don't need to deal with the front desk counter staff. I particularly like the tatami beds as it was very cosy and comfortable. I just felt not to wake up from the bed. There are plenty of restaurants around the hotel. Only a few footsteps away to Nanjing road and is very close to Waitan and even Yu yuan garden.
