3-Star Hotels in Surat Thani Province, Thailand

Just stopped for one night during a road trip down south, very good value, I had read reviews were people had complained about the lifts, we had.no problems, perhaps they've resolved any issues, this is a budget hotel and as such don't expect 4star quality, room bedding shower all clean, fridge and kettle 👍 Only problem I had was they didn't accept cash at the snack/drinks counter, i find that particularly annoying for any business, but hey my girlfriend paid with her phone, win for me I suppose 🤣 good location and plenty of paring spaces

Advantages: ~perfect loxation in a shopping mall, great choice of restaurants and shopping ~clean Disadvantages: ~small room ~people constantly walking and talking in the corridor ~there's no breakfast, they just give you cuopons for coffee

As an economy chain of Accor group this hotel offers just very very very basic services. Awfully terrible soundproofing. You can hear literary everything that is going on around including birds and shouting kids in the morning. I might suggest that is it the worst part. Also of course this hotel NEEDS renovation.  The rest in rather fine.

For the price point, this location is really clean! Just that we arrived late at night and the counter lady had limited English command, so I had a bit of issue as I couldn’t get more info. But when I came down to get my grab food, I met with a gentleman who was very kind to show me all the complimentary items available 24/7 (like juice and drinks). If I have to have another stopover at Surat Thani, I’ll be back. Breakfast was provided too! Parking is available at the premises.

I was placed in a room that overlooked the staff entrance so had the noise of them chatting on breaks and coming and going on their scooters so was a bit noisy. The phone in the room wasn’t connected, so just a prop I guess? The fridge defrosted and stopped working. They replaced this but with a European plug (using my only adaptor). Turns out that the plug port had blown so I had to lose some food and find another socket in the room (could not supply me with a replacement adaptor). The teaspoon was dirty and I had to ask to have a tv provided. The shower wouldn’t work hot. The pressure of the hot water wasn’t enough to keep the valve to feed the shower, open. On arrival I used the “luggage storage” which was just an area where everyone dumped their luggage (open plan next to reception) when I came back to check in, my rucksack wasn’t there. It was erroneously taken with another guests luggage. My passport and cash/cards were enclosed so luckily they managed to locate it. The hotel is a bit dilapidated and needs attention. Overall the staff are great and hard workers, the owner clearly lets the place down.

This time, there were 3 of us traveling, so we booked a large room. Large bed, 3 pillows, 3 towels, 2 bottles of water, 2 packs of tissues, the room is very spacious, you can comfortably put your luggage in the closet, there are hangers for clothes. Additional soap compared to the normal room for 2 people that I have stayed in. A budget hotel near Makro Surat Thani. Convenient to book, easy to book, cheap price, clean room, staff. Welcome, many facilities. Wifi. Car park, security guards take care of you at night. Check in 24 hours, in the morning there is toast, hot coffee, hot water. Convenient to travel whether going into the city or out of the city.

I stayed at their hostel room only because there was no other option as the island was fully booked. Pools looked nice, the breakfast view was fantastic, staff were nice. The dorm situation was just uncomfortable, as there was zero privacy. The shower/toilet was very tiny. The blanket they give at check-in was very weird and without a sheet, but very clean.

Clean and safe hotel near the airport. Very basic, but has everything you need. The water heater is a bit old, but everything else is super clean and well maintained. Good for one night stays. 7-11 nearby, Amazon cafe, and local food just downstairs. The location is very basic though, so you need a car or taxi, there is no walking path.

I like the ambiance of the hotel.. the bathtub feels refreshing after a long holiday. I will surely go back to this hotel.

Stayed at the beach front villa with direct access to the beach . It’s the best type of accommodation of all the rooms that the hotel offer. The staff really takes care of the beach. They smoothen the sand out and clean the beaches every morning. You wake up to a clean litter free beach. That’s really the bonus. However being so close to the beach, there is always people sitting infront of the villa. Less privacy and distracting the view. There is a block of water right at the steps before you enter the villa. That’s a very nice touch to clean and wash off sand before going into the villa and avoid too much sand in the room. Another good bonus. Another nice touch, clean towels were provided after every two days The front porch was good to hang out and chill. It was also good pls to dry wet cloths as there is not enough hooks and hangers. We were happy the villa comes with a bath tub. In general the entire villa is a lil rustic but it’s clean and still good condition The location is away from the noisy street which was good but it also means there is only a few restaurant/ shops option nearby. It still works for a short beach getaway. The water is pretty calm and shallow. Not much to see during snorkeling but it’s still fun to see fishes. The view of the beach at night is pretty and has a touch of Italy with all the lights on the hill. Overall a good experience and lovely stay

Quite possibly the best hotel I've stayed in whilst being in thailand. The staff were polite and extremely helpful. The rooms were clean and tidy, it had a gym albeit a small gym, but it had a gym nonetheless. The location was excellent. Just a really good stay.

Lovely room with a sea view. Great value for money. Kind and happy staff who were always available to help day or night. Thank-you Zaw for your quick repair in our bathroom! Incredible pool open 24/7. Easy to hail local transport from the bottom of the driveway. Enjoyed our stay and would recommend

The room is clean, very comfortable, quiet and suitable for relaxation. The staff provides excellent service. The facilities are complete. There is a swimming pool and a bathtub for soaking.

Not ”bad,:.... But a 3/5 is fair description.... Staff on fone, ignore you.. Walls like paper... To 'ask' for a room to be cleaned.... Hostel, and average..

NO THANK YOU NO PRIVACY grims very good hot water good air condition excellent but no privacy curtains rooms two meters across and you do need blinds closed 24 hour. hotel also sell beach lounges to externals so hard to get one. privacy curtains are must at this hotel

Awesome staff!! Surprisingly quiet location with very relaxed pool area and well appointed gym. The masseuse also fixed a small back issue I was experiencing. The location is great with many things to see and do very close by. I couldn’t fault the room and cleanliness and give them 5 stars

This hotel is good for just spending one night and going further along the route, in fact the hotel looks outdated, in my room 402 there were some old dried splashes on the walls and furniture that didn't look very good, the shower room was very small, but this hotel matches the price per night and you can have free coffee at the buffet on the first floor

Only stayed for one night. The room was spacious..you can tell it’s not new n the design/ furniture gives dormitory. The ac worked well n there were sockets next to our beds so we can charge our phones..Water pressure very high ( which we loved). No toothbrush provided…Maybe there was a pet shop downstairs, but for the whole night there was animal sounds. Awwm 🤔 7/11 and transport bus station close by ( so u can schedule bus to the islands). Helpful staff.

Brand new very clean hotel. There is no facilities to have a meal in the hotel, except the buffet breakfast area which is open for breakfast only. There were no tea or coffee in the room, the minibar was empty. The staff is very friendly.

Nice spot across the river from downtown Surat Thani, easy walk to restaurants and bars. Clean, comfortable room. Perfect for overnight stays between the airport and taking the ferry to the islands. Would stay again.

not bad! It’s quick to take a taxi to the airport in transit! There is not much to eat at the Wanlun night market, so I recommend not going there. There are also high prices for tuk-tuks. Locals charge 20 baht per person. Don't give it to the cub!

This place on arrival was quite messy with old furniture items in the walkways to the rooms in sections Hot water was hit a miss and outdoor shower was out of order in general items not maintained well I was allocated a room on the third floor however requested a room downstairs and after quite a bit of time it was allocated - the next day I found out they had a lift, so could not understand why on checking in I wasn't told about it, even when stating my reason for changing room was I didn't want to walk up 3 flights of stairs no mention of lift - this would have saved the drama I was not impressed at the beginning and the girl at reception was lovely however stated that she couldn't do much as I was uncertain the hotel was clean given the state of the hotel in parts I saw - the lovely girl call the Manager and was told if I wanted a refund to contact Agoda even though my booking was not with them however - the Manager who was on the phone, refused to speak with me a paying customer - any person who runs a hotel in that position should speak with a customer - this quickly told me why the hotel was poorly run with a Manager who couldn't even try and resolve certain issues I had - I wasn't after a refund, infact I asked to pay for an upgrade but there wasn't one available - that was ok but it's not ok for a Manager to treat a customer like she did - very poor example for her staff The breakfast was nice and if it wasn't for the staff being so nice, it made things nice and hotel was ok

We had an amazing stay at Villa ChaCha. Location was excellent, very close to a number of lovely restaurants on the beach. The accommodation itself is about a 2 minute walk to the beach (which was great for swimming!) The staff were very friendly and helpful. The only criticism I have is that our room was not serviced for almost 2 days. After having reminded them, they serviced it 👌The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The massages right on the beach were amazing and well-priced. This part of the island is truly magical. We stayed more in the south of the island after being at Villa ChaCha and it was a complete different vibe with more noise, tourists and crowded beaches. I would recommend Villa ChaCha to anyone who wants a relaxing, quiet getaway.

The hotel is located very close to the center of Thong Sala and the market is nearby, so it is crowded. There is a 7/11 and a laundry nearby, so it will be ok for a short stop. We lived in a room with a shared balcony, but it is very dark, it is impossible to read anything, you need to open the door and window, but then you will see what is happening in the room opposite, because the buildings are very close. There is no ventilation in the bathroom at all, so it stinks. With the current prices on Koh Phangan, you can't complain about the hotel, it has been neat for a long time, there is a good pool that is cleaned. Cleaning but shelter on request.

The location is ok, it's not far from the beach, but far enough away from the bars to reduce that particular noise at night. However, it is near a significant amount of construction, and on the main street, so it gets quite loud. The walls are also very thin, so you heard all the noise of your neighbors, every door slamming in the hallway, and everyone noisily going to/leaving their rooms. The rooms without AC are almost unbearable... It was so hot and miserable, and only has one tiny ceiling fan (which you aren't able to control the direction of), that we decided to change accomodation after one night. Luckily, we were able to find a similar accomodation, right on the beach, with AC, for half the price. The staff were very friendly/helpful (probably the best aspect about the hotel), and the property is well taken care of). However, overall it just wasn't worth the price, especially given that we switched to something better, while also paying half as much. If it's the only or the cheapest option available, and you don't mind noise, and can get an AC room, then it's fine. But personally, there are better places for the price.

Very nice room and lovely swimming pool, however I didn’t like the fact that being on the ground floor, anybody using the pool had a direct view inside the room and there were only thick curtains, so you’d have to either pull the curtains and not enjoy the natural light, or give up your privacy and let everyone outside be able to see whatever you’re doing. It would seem sensible to add a set of light curtains.

Large beautiful territory. The pool is looked after, its own beach. There are houses built at different times, each with its own charm. Responsive staff. Nearby 7-eleven and a pier (I think only to Samui). Beautiful sunsets as a gift)

The room is a bit old, the facilities are also very old, and there are unwashed marks on the sheets. But the location of the hotel is so perfect that these shortcomings can be ignored. You can see the sunrise at 6:30 in the morning, you can see the moon rising over the sea in the evening, and you can see the sun and the moon shining together in the morning around the 15th. The sand on the beach is very fine and the waves on the sea are a bit big.

I recently stayed at Tatoa Resort and had an exceptional experience! The resort boasts stunning views and is nestled in a tranquil setting that provides the perfect escape from city life. Bans! Been in and out this place throughout the years since 2015 and kept coming back wether I dive or just having a chill trip in koh tao. Bans, was by far MY FAV for many reasons. Location is great, big resorts, i am in love with pool with cafe (behind the lake) and their outdoor shower + amenities! I enjoy my morning dips, my painting session, my coffee and books afternoon. Just this time round, it was just a tad different feelings and experience. Mostly are still great but theres confusion of the room booked and the actual room itself (i reckon website needs to be updated and clearer details) and a minor incident where I have to pay additional 1 night just because the reception didn’t remember that Ive paid which partly my fault for not asking receipt and or prove of payment. Also, Bans used to be having such a great team member in service but ive came across some that’s quite cold and impatient unfortunately this time round unfortunately. sad 😢 and last thing my room floor were sandy meaning the room cleaning isnt that immaculate. Hopefully, next time I go back “home” this feeling was just such indifference and bans will still be me fav.
