A Memorable Family Stay at Atlantis Sanya
During the long Korean Chuseok holiday in early October 2025, my family and I took a short trip to Sanya for some rest and fun. We stayed at Atlantis Sanya, and from the moment we checked in, it already felt like the right choice. The room was big enough for our family of four and so comfortable that we felt at home right away. Everything, including the bathroom and the amenities, was modern and spotless.
Most of our time was spent enjoying the water park, which quickly became our kids’ favorite place. We laughed, played, and probably spent more time there than we planned. Breakfast was another highlight — every morning offered something new, fresh, and delicious. Those small changes each day made every meal feel special, and the cheerful atmosphere helped us start each day in a good mood.
The most unforgettable moment came when my daughter lost her phone in a taxi. We were quite worried, but the duty manager and our butler, Farhana, stepped in immediately. They contacted the driver, explained the situation, and somehow managed to get the phone back to the hotel. I was honestly amazed — I never thought we’d see it again, especially in another country. Their kindness and determination left a deep impression on all of us.
Thanks to the thoughtful staff — especially Farhana, who took care of our family as if we were old friends — our stay at Atlantis became something truly special. It was a trip filled with warmth, laughter, and unforgettable moments. If we ever visit Sanya again, there’s no question — we’ll be staying at Atlantis once more.

Absolutely Unforgettable Experience at MGM Sanya! Shoutout to Jelly from Guest Relations!
Location: The hotel boasts a prime spot in Sanya Bay, with a private stretch of soft, white-sand beach. Just cross the street, and you're at the ocean—the sunsets are breathtaking!
Facilities: Infinity pool + kids' water park + VR game zone—there's so much fun for both adults and children, you won't even want to step outside!
Ambiance: Surrounded by lush tropical gardens, the resort vibe is totally on point. The live music at the lobby bar creates such a chill atmosphere, and every corner is Instagram-worthy!
Cleanliness: The room was spotless, complete with disinfection seals on the bathtub. Even the towels on the beach chairs were folded into swan shapes—attention to detail that truly delights!
Service: A special thanks to Jelly—she was incredibly responsive and made sure all our needs were met effortlessly.

We spent our 10-day vacation at The Westin on Hainan Island. A very nice hotel with a great hotel complex. The hotel is beautifully located. The ocean and its great beach are just a few minutes' walk away, or you can also take the shuttle. The room was very spacious, very tidy, and clean. The breakfast was very good. The staff were all very friendly. Damon introduced himself to us upon arrival at the hotel. I was able to contact Damon at any time; no matter what questions or concerns I had, he took care of everything. Many thanks again to Damon. We had a wonderfully relaxing vacation at The Westin. Thank you very much.

Third time here and we had a fantastic family holiday again! Location, beach, swimming pools and gardens are gorgeous and really well kept. We love the different pool options and the room with direct pool access is so convenient with kids. I agree with other reviews that rooms could use renovation, especially if they used to be smoking rooms, but daily cleaning is impeccable. The open air breakfast spot is lovely and breakfast choice is excellent, Chinese restaurant is also very good and provided such nice support to celebrate kid’s birthday. Derrick Liu was so helpful to address any concerns, everyone on staff is super friendly and goes above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Can wholeheartedly recommend!

We arrived at the hotel around 6 PM on the 23rd. We had anticipated the typhoon would arrive at 8 PM as per the forecast, but it turned out to be inaccurate. Even at 10 PM, the pool was still bustling with people enjoying themselves.
Later that evening, I took a stroll from my room to the observation deck at the end of the corridor and noticed that the staff had already prepared all the sandbags for flood prevention.
The front desk staff were very friendly, and our butler, Luy, was incredibly thoughtful. They even arranged for a fruit platter to be placed in our room while we were out for dinner. I felt the value for money was excellent. The facilities are comprehensive, and there's a supermarket conveniently located right next to the hotel's elevators.
The road outside the lobby entrance was undergoing repairs, but this didn't affect our ability to hail a taxi; cabs were readily available nearby. On pleasant days, it's also very convenient to walk to the local market for a meal.
In the evenings, the hotel pool was lively with many children, and the staff were diligently supervising, blowing whistles, and giving reminders to ensure safety. It's very convenient for families with children, and the hotel's playground is also quite spacious.
By the way, in the evenings, both older gentlemen and young people could be seen sea fishing downstairs. Overall, the stay was very enjoyable and felt very welcoming. The scenery here is beautiful, regardless of the weather.

I booked for six nights, half a month in advance, so I certainly didn't expect any issues with room allocation.
1. First, we had reserved a deluxe family room, and according to the pictures, the bathroom was supposed to have a window. We arrived at 11 PM as two families and were assigned two completely different rooms. I wouldn't have even realized if my friend hadn't brought it to my attention. And this was in September, mind you – not peak season – yet instead of an upgrade, we received a *downgrade*? My room's bathroom had no window, and the bed faced two large mirrors. Seriously? I contacted the butler, who promised an upgrade for the next day, but that never materialized... (I hope you'll honor your promises in the future.) They simply moved me to the room I *should* have been in originally. Oh, and as a consolation, they sent some fruit the next day (see picture 1) – *how generous*.
2. We forgot a doll when we checked out. While it was great that the butler promptly contacted us, they then sent it back via SF Express with *cash on delivery*! Honestly, even a chain like Atour wouldn't do that. I was genuinely speechless.
3. I've never left a negative review on Ctrip before, and I won't this time either, but I hope this serves as a warning for future guests. I definitely won't be returning.
4. While the butler's responses were quick, their communication when handling issues felt consistently cold and unhelpful. The only time they became more communicative was when they were soliciting a good review at the very end.
(I've already deleted the butler's WeChat account. I doubt they'll miss one customer, but this is just for your information.)

They charged me a deposit almost equivalent to the room rate when I paid for the room, even though they hadn't released the pre-authorization yet. So, effectively, I paid double the deposit.
I've never encountered a hotel that charges deposits this way.
This is supposedly the best-performing hotel in the area, yet it has so many bad practices.
1. They literally collected double the deposit. In contrast, most 5-star hotels in Sanya don't even collect a deposit. Hotels in Shenzhou Peninsula also don't. Only this place does.
2. The lobby bar food is genuinely terrible. The only redeeming quality is the view. They don't even have basic pastries that a normal 5-star hotel in Shanghai would offer.
3. They generally make guests wait a long time for check-in. I arrived at 2 PM and waited for over an hour, then went to ask and they still told me to wait. If you arrived at 3 PM, they'd make you wait. If you arrived at 4 PM, they'd make you wait. There was a large crowd of people waiting nearby, and no queueing system, so people would just cut in. Most 5-star hotels with better service in Sanya usually start check-in by 1 PM.
4. The facilities are old. The cushions on the balcony were already sunken. Of course, this also has a lot to do with the relatively low素质 (poor manners/upbringing) of many guests from the mainland. They carelessly dirty other people's cushions, arbitrarily dirty bathtubs, and you see unruly, noisy children (mostly due to their parents' low素质) jumping around on the lobby bar chairs with their shoes on.
Pros:
1. The beach is relatively uncrowded.
2. The room was equipped with a yoga mat for guests, which was convenient.
3. The room design and layout are well-thought-out, with good lighting.
4. Aside from the slow and poor check-in service at the front desk, other staff members (shuttle bus, restaurant, pool, and lobby bar) had good attitudes and provided good service.
5. The tap dance show was enjoyable.

We stayed there for 5 nights and I have to say, while it was nice to relax, we were starting to become bored. There is no animation, no music by the pool, you can only order Drinks by the pool via wechat which didn‘t work for me - it kept telling to write my phone number, which I did and I still couldn‘t order. Sometimes there were workers at the pool who would bring drinks, but not everyday. Same at the beach, which is public so be prepared for people trying to Sell you stuff (mostly drinks or fruits). There is a food court nearby with some restaurants and that‘s it. There is only one restaurant with buffet for the whole hotel. For dinner, the buffet is transfered on the beach and costed 200 yuan on top which i think is a lot ( i think it was close to 400 yuan per person per dinner). The food was good and while everything looked nice, I have to say that the choice of music while the singers were preparing was horrible. Extremly loud and in no way fitting for a nice dinner at the beach. The beach bar for drinks after dinner was poorly organized, we sat down and were completely ignored while the staff was chatting and sitting on their phones behind the bar. Only when my fiance went up to them, they served us (warm beer btw) and didn‘t even clean the table with food from the people sitting before us. And here as well, horrible music which repeats every night. The rooms were pretty, but had their best years behind them. The staff couldn‘t speak english at all (maybe russian because I think every foreigner was russian except us) so communication was a little bit draining with translator. There was one worker, I think her name was Luna (not sure) which was really attentive and nice and when she was there, the service was always good. Since we have stayed in other hilton hotels, I have to say that in comparison this one wasn‘t as amazing as the others for a resort.

As one of Sanya Bay's long-standing premier hotels, the service here remains excellent. Due to our tight schedule, we only stayed in Sanya Bay for one day, which was a pity as this hotel is definitely worth a two or three-day stay.
We booked a two-bedroom suite, and upon check-in, we discovered it was more like a private home with two bedrooms, a living room, and two bathrooms. The private lift access to the unit ensures great privacy, making it perfect for families seeking an undisturbed long-term stay.
Here are some highlights:
1. The service is excellent. One night, I urgently ordered takeout, and the staff even helped deliver it directly to our room.
2. The location is superb. It's very close to the airport, and the First Market (a popular seafood market) is easily accessible whenever we wanted to go. But the absolute best feature is its beachfront – a long coastline with a gentle, shell-rich sandy beach, perfect and safe for young children to play freely.
3. There are plenty of activities. My little one especially loved the hotel's bottle-feeding fish activity.
I didn't get a chance to take many photos, but if I visit Sanya Bay again, I would definitely choose to stay here.

I personally really did not enjoying my stay at this hotel. I felt it was more of a mainstream Chinese tour group hotel than an international high-end brand. The breakfast was so busy full of so many people the swimming pools were really bad. Are they too small and weird shaped and closed. you can’t swim on the beach here. There was only two check in staff for 1 million people so expect to have to wait to check in. If you have kids, maybe it’s fine but for Western tourists especially those without kids I would strongly recommend not to stay here.

Ffengxiao96Our second stop on the National Day holiday trip to Hainan, and what a fantastic hotel experience! The hotel is located within the scenic area, spread across (what I'd estimate to be) four different hills. It's nestled in a tropical rainforest, surrounded by the sounds of birds and fragrant flowers. You might encounter an occasional insect or gecko in your room (though the hotel seems to put a lot of effort into pest control). But honestly, it just adds to the authentic natural ambiance! After checking in, you get a dedicated personal concierge service. For getting around, you rely on the hotel's private shuttle service, which arrives within 10 minutes of calling (even during the busy October 1st holiday period). A friendly tip! If you're traveling with elderly guests or those with mobility issues, I recommend contacting the hotel in advance to arrange special services. The Bird's Nest rooms, in particular, require walking along boardwalks to reach them. The quality, environment, and overall experience of this hotel are definitely commensurate with the price!

CChristieThis hotel was excellent. There are 2 pools, both very clean and large. The staff also frequently check the pool and maintain it in excellent condition. The highlight….the breakfast buffet was amazing!!!!! It had multiple stations including BBQ, noodles, traditional dim sum, western breakfast options, Thai/malay curry, pastries, desserts and an excellent assortment of fresh tropical fruit. They had guava, passion fruit and fresh melons.
Would definitely come again and stay longer so that I can see other parts of the island.
CCynthiaxing0420Service: The front desk staff were very friendly and accommodating with room requests. We asked for a quiet, non-smoking, high-floor room that wasn't a corner unit, and they delivered. Very good.
Facilities: This hotel has been open for almost 10 years, so you can't expect it to be up to current 5-star standards. However, it still has the essentials: a bathtub, a three-part bathroom (separate shower, toilet, and sink area), an electric bidet toilet, a pool, a gym, and an all-day dining restaurant. The only downside is that laundry service is extra, which isn't very convenient.
Cleanliness: The bedding was mostly satisfactory, and I slept very comfortably.
Ambiance: It's generally fine, but you can tell it's a bit dated.
Breakfast: The selection is mostly pastries and desserts, with very few hot dishes. The hot soup and noodle station had decent seafood congee and very good Hou'an noodles. However, there was no Zhaopo vinegar in the morning, and the egg rolls were just so-so.
The apricot jam was good, but the half-apricot syrup was quite mediocre.
Other local specialties included Qionghai multigrain dishes. The Pandan flower buns were delicious and highly recommended.
The pineapple buns weren't good.
The Pandan coconut floss buns were also quite nice.
Location: Pretty good. It faces Haikou Bay and is not far from Wanlu Garden, about a 7-8 minute walk. There's also MixC shopping mall and the Guomao business district nearby, offering plenty of dining and entertainment options.

GGuest UserThe Sanya Shanhaitian JW Marriott far exceeded my expectations! Upon check-in, I was immediately struck by the lobby's tropical design. From the room, simply opening the window revealed a magnificent ocean view. Waking up to the sound of waves in the early morning was incredibly therapeutic. The balcony bathtub was fantastic; soaking in it during the evening, watching the sunset paint the sea crimson, was the epitome of romance. The dining experience was also a pleasant surprise. The freshly made Hainanese rice noodles for breakfast were perfectly tangy and spicy. The service was exceptionally thoughtful. A big shout-out to Strawberry from Guest Relations; she went above and beyond! Learning it was my girlfriend's birthday, she thoughtfully arranged a birthday setup, which was incredibly touching. Dadonghai Beach is just a ten-minute walk away, boasting fine sand and clear waters, making it an excellent spot for photos. Whether you're a couple on a romantic getaway or a family on vacation, this is an excellent choice. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

MM225220****Grand Hyatt Sanya Haitang Bay: A Perfect Holiday Cured by Max's Thoughtful Service
I have to give full marks to Grand Hyatt Sanya Haitang Bay and my personal butler, Max! A huge part of the joy from this vacation came from her.
The hotel itself is stunning. As the first beachfront resort for Grand Hyatt in China, it beautifully blends traditional culture with modern design. Walking through the grounds feels like stepping into a tropical oasis, with lush flowers, plants, and trees everywhere you look. Our sea-view room offered incredibly expansive views, and the 180-degree ocean-view bathtub was perfect for photos. Soaking in it at night, listening to the sound of the waves, instantly melted away all fatigue. The three unique pools each offered different fun, and the 900-square-meter Camp Hyatt kept the kids entertained to no end. The direct access to 68 Food Street from the basement made dining and shopping super convenient. Breakfast had a rich variety, with a good balance of Chinese and Western options.
But the most delightful surprise was the service from our butler, Max. From proactively adding us on WeChat after check-in to confirm our needs, to responding instantly to any questions we had during our stay, she was amazing. Every day, she delivered fresh fruit and delicious refreshments, thoughtfully sent us local activity guides, and even prepared a bubble bath for us in the evenings to wash away the day's tiredness. In short, the experience was fantastic, and we'll definitely stay here again.
This vacation completely won me over with Max's professionalism and warmth. The luxury of the Grand Hyatt isn't just in its hardware, but in the service that permeates every detail. I'm already looking forward to my next visit and hope to meet Max again!
GGuest UserOn our way back from Wenchang after watching the rocket launch with our child, we spotted Mission Hills Hotel, a place we'd stayed at before. Seeing such a great price, we booked it right away! I recall when Mission Hills first opened; it was quite a sensation, and we felt so proud to stay there. This time, with our child in tow, we arrived to find the doorman as friendly and enthusiastic as ever – truly maintaining their high standards. Even though it was almost midnight, the front desk attendant politely and gently handled our check-in, making us feel the hotel's service genuinely exceeds five-star expectations. Our room, while small, was immaculately clean. The thick carpet immediately conveyed its luxury status, and the room smelled wonderfully fresh, completely free of any odors. They thoughtfully provided a children's toiletries and slipper set for our little one. This attention to detail made us feel incredibly warm and cared for. Throughout our one-day stay, every staff member greeted us with a smile, making us feel completely at home. Mission Hills Hotel truly is a super five-star experience!

CCeciliacao[Five-Star Review for Banyan Tree Sanya]
Banyan Tree Sanya absolutely deserves a perfect score! This stay completely exceeded my expectations; everything from the small details to the service left a lasting impression.
🌟 Proactive and Thoughtful Service, Enthusiastic Staff
From the moment we arrived until departure, every staff member greeted us proactively and offered assistance. Luggage handlers and cleaning staff would smile and step aside for guests, and restaurant staff would actively help out. This kind of unified service awareness among all staff is truly rare!
🌿 Room with Amazing Ambiance, Private Pool + Healing Aromas
The aromatherapy in the villa was so therapeutic! As soon as we entered, we were greeted by a subtle, natural essential oil scent, instantly putting us at ease. The private pool in each villa is perfect for couples or families, offering complete privacy. You can jump in for a refreshing dip anytime~
🍷 Brunch + Afternoon Tea, A Blissfully Tipsy Vacation
I absolutely applaud the 'breakfast until 12 PM' policy! It's perfect for someone like me who doesn't like to wake up early on vacation, allowing for a leisurely 'brunch.' Even more surprising, both breakfast and the complimentary afternoon tea offer alcoholic beverages! Champagne, wine, and specialty cocktails are all available, instantly elevating the vacation vibe~
💯 High-EQ Front Desk Staff, Problem-Solving MAX
I especially want to commend a young man at the front desk. He coordinated various arrangements, thoughtfully prepared welcome desserts, and communicated with humor and grace, making the entire interaction delightful. This kind of high-emotional intelligence service truly adds significant value to the hotel!

Ccandyb****My recent Hainan trip, encompassing Wanning, Lingshui, and Sanya, found its most satisfying highlight in our choice of the Sunshine One Hotel in Sanya. Even during the bustling summer peak season with such high occupancy, the hotel's management remained remarkably organized. Our dedicated butler, Jenny, provided incredibly meticulous and personalized service, which was truly outstanding. Having visited Hainan numerous times, I can confidently say this hotel's attention to detail was the best I've encountered. The overall experience was superb, offering excellent value for money. The entire hotel also boasts an eco-friendly design theme.
A particular highlight was the breakfast; it was incredibly diverse, incorporating local specialties, and even featured a dedicated coffee bar with a wide array of choices – truly thoughtful! Both adults and children were thoroughly pleased, with plenty of activities available for booking for everyone. There's also an indoor kids' club and a very unique pool area, including a massive infinity pool.
The only minor point is its slight distance from the beach. However, we had such a wonderful time simply relaxing at the hotel for two days that we didn't even feel the need to go to the seaside. If we preferred not to go out, dining at the hotel's restaurants was consistently delicious. For those looking to explore, the duty-free shop is just a 15-minute drive away, and the Haichang Evernight City, a mere 6 minutes distant, offers a variety of specialized Hainanese restaurants. Overall satisfaction: 100%!
