Five-star review! The free room upgrade at Sanya Tiancheng Hotel was such a delightful surprise ✨ Choosing Sanya Tiancheng Hotel for this trip to Sanya was definitely the right decision! I had only booked a basic sea-view room, but upon check-in, I was informed of a complimentary upgrade to a larger room. It was such a pleasant, unexpected bonus that truly made me happy and satisfied. The upgraded room was incredibly spacious and featured its own private ocean-view balcony. Opening the window revealed stunning panoramic views of the clear blue sea and the iconic Phoenix Island – the scenery was absolutely breathtaking! The room was impeccably clean, and the bedding was soft and comfortable, ensuring a wonderful night's sleep. It even came equipped with a washing machine and refrigerator, which added to the convenience of the stay. The hotel's location is superb, right in the heart of the city center. It's just a short walk to the beach, and shopping districts and food streets are all nearby, making dining, shopping, and getting around incredibly easy. Plus, there's free parking for those who drive. While it doesn't offer an excessive array of complex services, the core experience was truly excellent, and the room upgrade alone made it incredibly worthwhile – fantastic value for money! I'll definitely prioritize staying here again on my next visit to Sanya, and I've already recommended it to my friends~

The architecture and environment are truly magnificent, definitely worth a deeper exploration. The 'Dongpo Academy' play was well-produced; it would be even better if there was transport in the evening to experience the immersive live show at Dongpo Academy! However, the service and transportation have significantly deteriorated compared to four years ago. The shuttle service to the high-speed rail station is practically non-existent: no clear signs, long waits between buses, and often no seats due to overcrowding – I couldn't get a ride both ways. The bus service to Haikou has also been cancelled. The most disappointing aspect is that many of the original attractions are closed, and those that are open charge exorbitant fees. A ticket to the Ocean World costs 160 yuan per person, and the mini-train, which used to be included in the accommodation fee, now costs 60 yuan per person! Such a large-scale resort, yet the management is so outdated! I have no interest in returning next time.

Stayed here for three nights, and overall it was decent. It was super crowded, which made for a lively atmosphere, but we had to queue just to get into breakfast, though the wait wasn't too long. The prices here are really high. A bottle of Coke Zero at the water park was 28, and a serving of Oden (6 skewers) was 48 (68 downstairs at the hotel). A single squid skewer was 48! At the Japanese restaurant downstairs, a bowl of Udon was 138 and a beef rice bowl was 168. We really should have taken a taxi to eat out, but we were just too lazy 😭. On the other hand, the room service food was delicious, and by comparison, it didn't seem so expensive. A set menu with four dishes (pictured in Figure 4) was 378. The worst experience here was the travel photography service (Fuyou Pai). The hotel offered five complimentary digital raw photos. First off, the photographer was probably in their forties or fifties, and had us pose in those old-fashioned studio styles from my childhood – and I couldn't refuse! 😭 The raw photos weren't even as good as what I could take with my phone, so I had no choice but to pay 100 for retouched versions. Then I ended up spending another 680 to buy 15 more retouched photos. That money was totally wasted. I've got a new goal for 2026: learn photography 📷. I thought the C Show performance was just okay, but the kids loved it and wanted to see it again 😓. Definitely get seats in the middle.

Gentle sea breeze and abundant sunshine – whoever says Haikou isn't as good as Sanya for a vacation clearly hasn't experienced it; I think Haikou is great! This hotel offers excellent value for money. For just a few hundred yuan, you get to stay in a beachfront hotel. Although it's been open for several years, and I was prepared for the facilities not to be brand new, I was pleasantly surprised upon checking in – it's actually quite nice. The staff are very welcoming; the cleaning lady always has a smile on her face every day, and the young lady at the front desk is noticeably enthusiastic. Erin's service was also very thoughtful. This place is truly wonderful.

The service here deserves full marks! Every staff member I encountered was incredibly enthusiastic. Our butler, Coco, was very responsive to all our questions and proactively offered help. The room was spacious and clean, and the mattress was just right—not too soft, not too firm—which made for a fantastic night's sleep. From check-in to check-out, there was absolutely nothing to complain about; the whole experience was excellent.

A five-star hotel, highly recommended! It's built into the hillside, offering a beautiful and pleasant environment. Dining in the sunroom, surrounded by lush greenery, was absolutely delightful. In the mornings, you can go for a run in or around the hotel, and in the evenings, unwind in the hot springs. We also enjoyed the coconut chicken at the hotel restaurant – a truly wonderful vacation experience. My only regret is that the outdoor pool water was a bit cold in January, so swimming wasn't an option. The occupancy seemed quite high, and the staff were patient and attentive. Even though it's not far to walk, you can call for an electric buggy every time you go in or out. This is an ideal rainforest getaway in central Hainan.

The Howard Johnson Resort far exceeded my expectations; the entire experience, from check-in to check-out, was simply perfect. 🌴 Environment and Location: The hotel boasts a prime beachfront location on Sanya Bay. A stroll through lush tropical gardens leads directly to the pristine white sand beach. The 180° sea view from the balcony was absolutely stunning. Waking up to the sound of waves every morning and taking an evening walk under the coconut trees as the sun set truly brought the dream of ”facing the sea, with spring blossoms” to life. 🏨 Room Experience: Our sea-view suite was spacious and bright, with an elegant and comfortable modern Southeast Asian design. The bedding was soft and skin-friendly, and the toiletries were high-quality – attention to detail was evident everywhere. The balcony lounge chair became my favorite spot to relax and unwind, with the sea breeze offering ultimate comfort. 🍽️ Dining Services: The breakfast buffet offered a rich variety, with Hainanese specialties like seafood fermented vinegar noodles and freshly cooked Hou'an noodles being particularly memorable. The seafood BBQ buffet we had for dinner at the hotel was excellent value for money. 👨👩👧 Family-Friendly: The kids' club had a wide range of activities, and the water park kept the children thoroughly entertained. The family-themed rooms were decorated with playful charm, and there was a delightful little dolphin plush toy surprise every day. Our butler, KAY, was incredibly warm and attentive. I've already recommended it to friends planning a trip to Sanya, and I will definitely be back! 📍 Helpful Tips: * It's very convenient to reach the beach via an underpass. * The hotel gardens are perfect for photos; I recommend bringing light-colored dresses. * Staying during the off-season offers fantastic value, with sea-view rooms being a great deal. If you're looking for a relaxing beach holiday in Sanya, the Howard Johnson Resort is undoubtedly the best choice!

This hotel is truly fantastic for families! They have timed science experiments, a huge indoor heated pool, and the ocean view room I booked on the 12th floor offered incredible visuals – so relaxing to lie in bed and just gaze outside. The breakfast buffet downstairs was also excellent, with interactive activities for kids. The hotel service was top-notch too. I regretted going to Yalong Bay first and then staying here in Sanya Bay; we should have come straight here after landing. Oh, and the iron flower show was absolutely amazing! I don't have fancy words, but I highly recommend it. There's an underpass directly from the hotel to Coconut Dream Corridor and the beach, which is unbelievably convenient. You've got to check this place out, guys!

The hotel is about a 25-minute drive from Haikou East Railway Station. It is a large resort mainly designed for golf visitors. The hot spring pools are located very close to the hotel building and stay open until 11 p.m. The breakfast starts as early as 6 a.m., which is convenient for early risers or guests catching a morning flight. The location is not very convenient, as the nearest shopping mall is about a 20-minute drive away. We booked a room for three adults, but the hotel only provided two complimentary entries to the hot spring pools. The third guest had to pay 88 RMB. Since the booking clearly included three adults, it would have been a nice gesture for the hotel to extend complimentary access for all three. Overall, it’s a spacious resort with enjoyable hot springs.

This hotel was our first stop on our East Coast Hainan island tour, and it didn't disappoint. The service was excellent, especially our butler, Mile. He contacted us two days in advance to ask about our preferences, sent us menus, arranged our room, and even turned on the dehumidifier before we arrived. Our luggage was delivered directly to our room, which made our stay incredibly comfortable. Our room had a direct ocean view, perfect for watching both sunrises and moonrises. The balcony was very spacious and sunny, the air conditioning worked great, and the sheets were clean. The lobby has a fantastic, grand design. Watching the sunrise from the beach was also breathtaking.
