The hotel itself is clean, well-maintained, and has good amenities. The rooms and common areas were kept tidy, and I appreciate the effort put into maintaining the property. However, my biggest concern was the Wi-Fi connection. I stayed for a week and experienced connectivity issues throughout my entire stay. As someone who relies on internet access, I ended up using my mobile data most of the time because the Wi-Fi was unreliable. I also found that some of the staff in the dining area were not very welcoming. While not everyone was unfriendly, a few crew members came across as dismissive and seemed to have an attitude when interacting with guests. Customer service is an important part of the hotel experience, and I hope management can provide additional training to ensure all guests feel welcomed and valued. Overall, the hotel has good facilities and cleanliness standards, but the Wi-Fi issues and inconsistent customer service affected my experience.

Our flight arrived early, and they were very accommodating by allowing us to check in as early as 11:00 AM, which we truly appreciated. They even prepared a small suprise for me since we arrived on the day of my birthday. We booked the Rattan Villa for five people, and it was incredibly spacious. There was more than enough room for everyone to move around comfortably. We also had restful nights—the beds were so soft and comfortable that it felt like sleeping in a five-star hotel. The resort has a peaceful and relaxing ambiance. Although there was some ongoing construction during our stay, it wasn't a major issue since we were out most of the day for our island activities, and the work had already stopped by the time we returned each afternoon. We also enjoyed dining at their restaurant. The food was delicious, and we appreciated that the chef personally came over to ask how we liked our meals. My only suggestion would be to add more menu options, as the resort is quite far from restaurants and convenience stores. Having a wider selection would be especially helpful for guests staying several days. The staff were all friendly, accommodating, and approachable. They assisted us with everything we needed before, during, and even after our stay, making us feel well taken care of. Overall a very good resort, located on the main road close to all the action and night life. They provide a free tuk tuk to take you to a particular place on this road whether it is a restaurant or the Cloud nine beach. The resort has its own small beach. The villas have a fan and air con.. The bathroom has 2 showers, one inside and one outside which is nice.The shower heads though are due for decalcification to provide a good and comfortable shower. Be aware that villas that are located close to the road are quite noisy. Breakfast is buffet style and is served near the pool. If you arrive before the official check in time of 2pm and even if your villa is ready, you will have to pay an extra fee to get the key.

Beautiful hotel, but as a new hotel they are poorly unorganised and many amenities are still yet to be completed. Couldnt vook the meeting rooms. The internet in the rooms always dropped out amd very unreliable to do business meetimgs, I had to rum team calls down near reception. Inconvenient!. ,I stayed in 3 different rooms and woke up to no hot water for a shower more than twice. Poor comtrols in place to ensure a customer room is ready and functioning. The food is probably great for locals but not for westerners. Many advertised meals they simply dont have. Great poolside, but no outside bar, or aloud to have a drink in the pool area. I will be a regular business visitor to Butuan during 2025 and therefore looking for a decent place that has a variety of food and reliable internet. Didn't fins it here.

Kalipay is conveniently located along the main road, walking distance from CEV (the best ceviche in Siargao) and Happiness Bar (best happy hour deal). The resort is quiet, has a nice pool and the rooms are clean. The staff are amazing — friendly, accommodating and extra helpful. The receptionist, Kim, took really good care of us.

Pros: • hotel is new, they only opened last August • room was very spacious • beds, pillows, comforter were very comfortable • bathroom was very spacious with complimentary toothbrushes, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner • airconditioning was superb • room has a balcony (that we didn’t use) Cons • because it’s new, apparently their how shower has not been installed yet. But they provide hot water from the kitchen and will bring to the room in a pail 😂 • location is not ideal as it is a good 10-minute walk on a dirt road to get to the main tourism road • breakfast wasn’t impressive. The tapa and the tocino were tough. All in all, it’s still value for money. The entries crew were very friendly and accommodating. And I will still consider staying there next time.

Rucksack is the biggest Hostel in Siargao, it offers private rooms for couple, family or group traveller and Dormitory Type rooms for Solo Traveller like me. Dormitory bed is comfortable with thick Hotel bedding, ventilation is very cool. Price is also great specially if you are budget conscious . Rucksack has its own Pool, Restaurant and Bar. Plus activities for guests every night. You will definitely enjoy your stay.
