"It looks close to the airport, but even taking the number 8 bus still requires about a 30-minute walk, especially since there are so many cars on the main roads, it's quite inconvenient and gives you goosebumps.
Advantages: It's close to the car rental company, but once you get there, you'll realize how terrible the route is. It's very unsafe, requiring you to cross many roads without traffic lights. New Zealand drivers are noticeably less courteous than Australian drivers, so be extremely careful.
As for the environment and hygiene, I won't go into details. In the overnight hotel, you have to run outside to use the restroom. But considering the price, you'll have to put up with it."

"I had a great stay there. I arrived very early but I could leave my backpack in the reception and also use the facility such as kitchen. The staff was very helpful. Some rooms have very nice view. It was best place to chill. Also you can rent a bike around $5/1h or $15/4h. I enjoyed the ride to the Mt Fyfee carpark and did a little hiking:)"

"This hotel location is superb right opposite The village city central. Everything is good EXCEPT no air con which is really hot in summer month …all 4 of us didn’t sleep well as is too hot- they only provide a standing Fan. I think winter month stay is ok."

Great
GGuest UserThe DoubleTree by Hilton Christchurch is excellent in every aspect. It's very close to Christchurch city center and the Botanic Gardens, and the surroundings are beautiful. Even though it was winter, you could tell the hotel's maintenance and facilities were very well-kept. The breakfast selection was also quite varied. Overall, I was very satisfied!
AA-wuzhemamaThis is a large campsite facing the beach. There's a small kitchenette for cooking simple meals, and a communal kitchen. We went back to the hotel quite late and went straight to sleep. The foreigners were very quiet and didn't make a fuss; no one was smoking, which was great.
AAnonymous UserWhen I checked into the hotel that day, the front desk lady was very enthusiastic, introduced the basic situation of the hotel, and specially said that the door was closed at night, how to open the door, and then introduced the parking spot for the Christchurch bus, and walked less.
AAnonymous UserWe met other great locals and tourists in the common kitchen!
A well equipped Kitchen with hit water, microwave, large oven, bread toaster etc. This really helped us to be productive for our short stay in Christchurch.
Thanks
GGuest UserLoved this hotel, it was very new and stylish. Ticked all the boxes, comfortable beds with nice pillows, we all slept well, big walking shower with great water pressure and a big TV. Nice view of the water too, however the beds were facing the wrong way to take advantage of the views.
GGuest UserTekapo is a small town, so there aren't many choices if you want to stay right in the heart of it. Luckily, it was off-peak season, so the price wasn't outrageous. It's a little over a 5-minute walk from the lake, and also very close to the famous 'Li Xian Bridge'. The Intercity bus stop is at the Dark Sky Project, which isn't far from the hotel, so it's convenient for getting around. It's a perfectly decent motel, and the hygiene was good. All in all, great value for money during the off-season.
AAnonymous UserThe hotel is fairly centrally located (about a 15 minute walk), but at the same time in a quiet area. The room was huge, for lack of a better term - it's basically a lounge, a twin room and a double room. Not sure if that's actually the room I booked or an upgrade. At any rate, it was clean and had all the necessary amenities. The outer design is also very nice. There's also afternoon tea for free from 15:30 till 16:30. The price is not particularly low, but all things considered it's value for money (only 25-30% more expensive than a private room in a hostel), especially if more than one person is staying. All in all, a great option, if your budget allows it.
GGuest UserAirport shuttle [round trip]: I called the hotel for a pick-up from the airport, and they picked me up right at Gate 1. If you're not sure where Gate 1 is, you can ask the airport staff. In the morning, you just wait at the front desk to be taken to the airport to pick up your rental car.
Facilities: The hotel has a long history, which is detailed in a description next to the front desk. Despite its age, the room facilities are quite good, and I'm very satisfied for the price.

GGuest UserAll were good, the location is very near to the city center. Although the parking was a bit narrow, we were able to park in front of our unit safely.
The kitchenette was rather small and dont have a complete utensils like chopping board, but we managed with whatever provided. There was no hood as well so when we were cooking, the smoke alarm went on for a while, we had to open our front door while cooking because the ventilation was not the best. But overall it was fine.
