Decent Hotel that is approximately 15-20 minutes from Madrid's main airport. There are no local shops or restaurants and for this they exploit the opportunity by charging 3-4 times the normal retail price for drinks and snacks in the vending machine on the ground floor. Restaurant left little to be desired on the menu. To get to central Madrid, like areas such as Sol you will need to exit the hotel to reach the main road, cross over (don't forget this) and catch most of the available buses to the metro station and then continue your journey by metro for 7-8 stops. So a transport card is recommended for a few days travelling around. Rooms are a little spacious and are clean but have no in-room safe leaving you to juggle your valuables and to secure them in your luggage. Overall a decent stay at a ”no-frills” hotel that is priced really well. Expect the price to go up once they add more amenities such as complimentary bottled water, a safe and a mini-bar.

The hotel is far away from the city center but public transportations are nearby so pretty convenient. I traveled solo and was put in a room with 2 twin beds pushed together so I’d asked to change me to a one queen but the front desk guy said they’re all booked, although it seemed pretty empty on a Monday. The room I stayed in didn’t have a bathtub but the design was really nice with a great view. The lights were very complicated to use because they had too many things going on so sometimes the lights in the room turn on out of no where in the middle of the night extra bright. The room had cool technologies though like automatic blinds that blackout the room, vanity lights, and rainfall showers. You pretty much don’t know what kind of designs the room you get will have so it might not be for everyone who must have certain things-might be better to go with a chain brand. The room had weird things like 3 landline phones-one by the bed, one on the tv wall, and one near the toilet in case you need to order room service while pooping I guess. The hotel amenities like the pool were closed and chairs were covered and certain areas seemed rundown for a 5-star hotel. Overall, ok experience.

This hotel was a great option for someone who wants to stay in the center. The room was clean and spacious enough for just one person. The breakfast buffet was a great option to start the day with a variety of food choices. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Thank you

First of all, the location is excellent, just a 5-minute walk from the Prado Museum and a 10-minute walk from Puerta del Sol, which is commendable. However, the room smelled strongly after renovations. The hotel also insisted on charging an extra €55 for bringing my daughter, who's under 11. This is incomprehensible. We've traveled all the way from Amsterdam, Brussels, Cologne, Frankfurt, and Madrid, and we've never encountered such treatment. Hilton and Marriott hotels don't charge extra for bringing children, and the Frankfurt Hilton even offered a free extra bed. We booked a so-called superior king room with a street view, but if you look closely at the room pictures, you can only see the balcony of the building opposite, with no street view at all. Beware! We tipped €50 from check-in to check-out. The bellhop was incredibly helpful. This hotel has a large staircase, so travelers with a lot of luggage should be aware of this pitfall. 😂😂

Hotel and Service in general was good. But when ordering the airport shuttle for 4:30, I was told “no problem” I was in front of the hotel 4:29, no bus, I asked the receptionist at 4:32, she said “I will call the driver” At 4:40 the bus arrives, telling me that will drive at 5am and that they left at 4:30 - I wasn’t there. It’s absolutely impossible to go to the airport and come back within 10min, so the driver lied straight into my face. I had no time to argue at the reception, so I took a taxi instead. Why are you ruining the experience at your hotel which such behavior? Would have been a 4-5 otherwise.

NNo sugar ,but coffee 2025.07.23
The room was clean and tidy. The breakfast spread was extensive, with options catering to Chinese palates, including local fried dough sticks (youtiao) and dumplings, all of which tasted great. There was also a wide selection of fresh fruit. The only minor downside was the typical European hotel amenity setup – no complimentary toothbrushes, toothpaste, or slippers provided in the room. The location is also excellent, right next to Retiro Park and the Prado Museum.

TTraveler 123recently had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Palacio de los Duques in Madrid, and I must say that it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. From the moment I entered the magnificent palace-like building, I was captivated by the grandeur and elegance that surrounded me. The hotel's location in the heart of Madrid's historic center is perfect for exploring the city's attractions. Many iconic landmarks, such as the Royal Palace and Plaza Mayor, are within walking distance, making it convenient for sightseeing enthusiasts like me. The staff at Palacio de los Duques Madrid truly went above and beyond to ensure my comfort and satisfaction throughout my stay. From the warm welcome at check-in to the attentive service provided by the concierge, every interaction was marked by genuine hospitality and professionalism. The room I stayed in was beautifully appointed and exuded a sense of luxury. The elegant decor, comfortable furnishings, and modern amenities created a perfect sanctuary after a day of exploring the city. The attention to detail was impeccable, and I appreciated the little touches that enhanced my stay, such as the plush bathrobes and high-quality toiletries. One of the highlights of my stay was the hotel's stunning rooftop terrace. Offering panoramic views of Madrid's skyline, it provided a breathtaking backdrop for enjoying a drink or simply unwinding while taking in the city's beauty. The on-site restaurant also surpassed my expectations with its delectable cuisine, showcasing a fusion of traditional and contemporary flavors. Hotel Palacio de los Duques Madrid seamlessly blends historical charm with modern luxury. The preservation of the building's architectural heritage, combined with the impeccable service and attention to detail, creates an unforgettable experience. Overall, my stay at Hotel Palacio de los Duques Madrid exceeded all expectations. It is a true gem in the heart of Madrid, offering a perfect blend of comfort, elegance, and convenience. Whether you are visiting for business or leisure, I highly recommend this hotel for an unforgettable stay in the vibrant capital city of Spain.

MMrWong888After traveling extensively in China, returning to Spain highlighted some noticeable differences, particularly in Madrid. While the city and its infrastructure may feel a bit outdated compared to other global hubs, the Hotel Madrid Chamartín Affiliated by Meliá was a decent and comfortable place to stay. The hotel’s location is its strongest feature—it’s directly across from Chamartín Train Station and its adjacent subway station. While the train station and subway facilities are not the most modern or impressive, the convenience of being so close to transportation hubs is a definite plus. The street leading to the hotel is a bit unusual, set on a slope, but it’s manageable. The room was clean and functional, though slightly dated. The beds were comfortable, albeit with older spring mattresses that could use an upgrade. Despite the slightly worn feel, the room provided a comfortable space to rest after a day of exploring or work. The standout feature of this hotel was undoubtedly the breakfast. It was absolutely amazing, with a wide variety of fresh and delicious options that catered to different tastes. It was easily the highlight of my stay and set a great tone for the day. The service was also pleasant and friendly, which is a nice touch, especially given the sometimes lackluster service standards in Spain. The staff were helpful and made the stay more enjoyable. Overall, while the Hotel Madrid Chamartín Affiliated by Meliá may not be the most modern or luxurious option, it offers good value for its location, a comfortable stay, and an exceptional breakfast. If you’re looking for a convenient and reliable place to stay near Chamartín Station, this hotel is a solid choice.

GGuest UserOur stay at Hard Rock was really pleasant! The staff were really helpful and accommodating, ready to answer all our questions and provide recommendations. Special shout to Alejandro and Alberto at the front desk, and also Adrian who took care of our luggages. There are two bars, one in the lobby and one on the rooftop. Drinks are good. We did not have breakfast in the hotel so we can’t comment on that. Room was nice and comfortable, they clean daily. Only thing I didn’t like was the sink was outside the bathroom. Not sure why many people complained about the location. There are PLENTY of cafes, bars, and restaurants within walking distance and all frequented by locals. It’s also just a couple of stops away from Sol station. Here’s a tip, the hotel will tell you that the nearest station is Atocha, but we feel like Lavapies station is much closer and easier to walk to. Lavapies is also only one stop from Sol station - which is the centre. For breakfast, there is a Panaderia right across the road. For lunch or dinner, there’s Bar Argumosa and Orisha restaurant. If you’re okay to walk a bit more, there’s a lovely neighbourhood called Anton Martin with many bars and restaurants too.
