I came here because of Detective Conan, and the hotel's location is just incredible – facing the sea, absolutely stunning! However, since the hotel is in a small town, taking the bus during peak season can be really inconvenient. You can contact the hotel to arrange a taxi, but most local drivers don't speak English. There are many great places to eat in town, but they tend to close early. The hotel's onsen is very comfortable; soaking in the hot spring while listening to the sea is a wonderful experience. The hotel is also very close to Engetsu Island, where you can watch the sunset 🌄 – it's truly amazing and perfect for photos! The only drawback is that the facilities are a bit old, probably due to its long history!
We had a room with an open-air bath and a stunning view, it was a dream 💙 Breakfast and dinner were excellent. Yukatas came in a wide variety of colors.
Regarding the onsen, I liked the one to the right of reception much less than the one to the left. Both are small, but the rotenburo on the right has a very strange lighting system: wherever you sit, the bright lights shine right in your face, which is unpleasant. But the one on the left is excellent – it has a view of the bay through unique blinds, and the lighting is decent.
It's not very close to the station, so it's better to take a shuttle with luggage.
The main picture is misleading! I couldn't find the hotel after getting off the train. The first attached picture is what it actually looks like! Exit Tottori Station North Exit, and it's diagonally opposite on your left. Look for a large '由' character on the roof; the tall building to its left is the hotel. The front desk was decent, and simple English communication was possible. According to the lobby display, this year marks their 50th anniversary, and both the Emperor and Crown Prince have visited. The rooms are a bit old, but the towels are very new, and the lamps have a classic, old-money vibe. I have to rave about the breakfast coffee! And they even have ice cream. I ended up drinking three cups on the first day 🤣 The breakfast features many Tottori specialties. It's very thoughtfully prepared, and if you buy it with the accommodation, it's not expensive. For three people, two nights for under 2000 RMB, I think it's a great deal. The location is truly excellent! It's right opposite the train station, with many shops and a huge 7-Eleven. The bus station is also directly across the road; the bus to the sand dunes is just 10 meters from the hotel entrance. There's a shopping mall next door. This will be my first choice next time I visit!
Location: About a 15-minute taxi ride from Shirahama Station, and there's also a bus that stops right at the entrance. The overall design is quite modern, and the ocean view far exceeded my expectations. The Pacific Ocean views from both the common areas and the rooms are very chill and expansive.
Facilities: The room size is significantly larger than hotels of similar price in big cities, making for a very comfortable stay.
Dining: A convenience store is just a 5-minute walk away. Right next door is a popular ramen shop; although it's mostly frequented by Chinese tourists, the taste is genuinely good and perfect for dinner. In the morning, I bought bread and coffee from the lobby and took it to the terrace to enjoy while soaking my feet and gazing at the sea – utterly delightful.
This is a fantastic ocean-view hotel for a vacation, and I would definitely come back given the chance!
in the adventure world and the market
It was a very convenient place nearby!
and i opened the door and my hair fell off.
I thought it was easy to stand out because of the white floor.
i thought, but when i went downstairs
the smell of drainage is coming up from the dressing room.
I smelled pretty bad.
When I opened the bedroom, I smelled up to the bedroom.
I was a little uncomfortable because I came.
and i had them lower their cleanliness
Others were satisfied.
Thank you.
A very good experience. The house is very clean and can accommodate 6 people. But the house agent can explain clearly where to get the house key, but the email instructions are unclear. Otherwise very good.
This was the most satisfying and cost-effective hotel among my seven trips to Japan. Arriving early and unable to check in, I stored my luggage on the first floor; the process was simple and easy following the instructions.
Transportation: The hotel offers a free shuttle bus to JR Kushimoto Station, generally coinciding with the arrival times of the Limited Express Kuroshio. The driver will help with luggage. Additionally, the Kushimoto sightseeing bus stops at the hotel entrance. To take the community bus, it's about an 8-minute walk to the B&G Marine Center.
The first-floor lounge area offers a variety of complimentary drinks, beer, and draft beer, along with unlimited snacks, from 3 PM to 5 PM. The view overlooks the hotel's outdoor swimming pool and the Pacific Ocean. From 5 PM to 10 PM, everything else continues except for beer.
The mountain view room is very large, over 30 square meters, although the facilities are slightly outdated. There's a shop selling Wakayama souvenirs on the first floor.
Finally, I must mention the onsen (hot spring). While there are no private baths, the public bath is very large, and the water temperature is similar to home bath water. The large public bath also has a door leading to the outdoor hot spring. After soaking in the hot spring, you can go to the outdoor lounge to have tea and popsicles. The lounge area is also very spacious and comfortable.
The view is stunning, but taking the bus to Oura Station means you have to drag your suitcases up a bit, or catch the 6:00 PM shuttle bus from Shirahama Station. It's worth checking the shuttle bus schedule beforehand; the last one seems to be around 5:00 PM. The bathroom facilities are a bit dated, but the other services are good. With fewer Chinese tourists, it's mostly Japanese families with children. The indoor pool is a bit small, mostly occupied by the children. The breakfast was okay and filling, a typical hotel buffet, but they do offer mentaiko and tuna. On the way back, the hotel booked a taxi to the airport, which took 10 minutes. It's a bit far from Shirarahama, Senjojiki, and Sandanbeki, so it's best to get a timetable and have change ready if you're taking the bus.
Summary:
1. Airport transfer to Shirahama needs to be booked in advance via email.
2. The hotel is excellent and newly renovated. The hot springs are fantastic.
3. Transportation is inconvenient, but there's a shuttle service to Shirarahama Beach.
4. It's about a 15-20 minute walk downhill to a convenience store. The distance isn't actually that far.
I had a wonderful stay here and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Shirahama for a relaxing getaway.
First off, the location is fantastic. The bus stop is right in front of the hotel, and after taking bus #12 from Shirahama JR Station, you get off directly at the hotel. The hotel staff are very welcoming and were at the entrance to help with luggage – super friendly! Across the street from the hotel is Shirarahama Beach, which is stunning whether it's cloudy or sunny. The white sand paired with the blue ocean is a real treat for the eyes. Shirahama is very quiet at night, and shops close early, but within a five-minute walk, there's a FamilyMart, Lawson, and a 24-hour supermarket. So, if you need snacks or drinks, these are great options. The hotel also has a microwave on the first floor for heating food. You can even buy fireworks at the supermarket to enjoy on the beach.
Room: The room was very spacious with plenty of space and directly faced the beach. During my two-day stay, I spent time just relaxing in the room, watching the sunset, observing people on the beach, or heading downstairs to cross the road and lie on the beach or play in the water. It was incredibly relaxing for both my mind and body. The room had both a bathtub and a shower. The bathtub was right next to the balcony, so you could soak while enjoying the view. The hotel also has indoor hot springs, but unfortunately, I couldn't use them.
Service: Most of the staff were middle-aged men and women, very kind and gentle. There was also a Chinese-speaking girl with a particularly soft voice who always greeted me with a smile. The service was excellent.
Although breakfast was the same every day, it tasted quite good.
Overall, I was very satisfied with my stay and would definitely choose Sanrakuso again if I come back to Shirahama.

HH.ChanVery nice hotel, love the facilities so much
Esp the free massage chair n lounge area, felt very cozy
We miss the welcome drink at 9pm. Understanding that it can’t redeem back, it’s good to have a option for client , like swap with soft drink etc
Overall hotel staff are nice n attentive, food quality is good also

AakikoMusashi Ryokan: Good location, next to the white sand beach of Shirarahama, separated from Shirarahama Hotel by a wall. Outside the hotel, there is a 24-hour supermarket diagonally opposite, with Daiso upstairs, Lawson on the other side of the street corner, and a bus stop (Shirahama Bus Stop) at the door, which is very convenient to go to various places.
Room: The Japanese-style sea view room I booked is just right for three people. The room does face the sea. Looking at the sunset, the beach and the sea, my heart is healed
Service: No one cleans the room, it's simply!!
Hot springs: Hot springs are on the first, second and 17th floors (those who book the Hedi room can go to the 17th floor, the rooftop outdoor, but they can't take a bath. They have to take a bath in the room and go up, which is very inconvenient). The hot spring water temperature on the first and second floors is very suitable
Meals: The first night was a buffet, and the second day I chose a Japanese set meal. I felt that it would be better not to book it. It broke my good impression of the one-night and two-night hot spring hotel. I thought the quality of the buffet was not very good, and the Japanese set meal should be okay, but the result was also unsatisfactory.
So I suggest you don’t order meals. There are many places to eat around. It’s only a half-hour bus ride to the seafood market.
