Very tired and dated hotel.
Pluses are good location for town centre and most amenities, clean room and comfortable bed.
Downside no bar open, old draughty windows so more traffic noise and squeaky floorboards than ideal.
Still overall a pleasant comfortable stay at the price I got (under £60).

Very Good

I recently stayed at the Chatsworth Hotel in Worthing. Overall, it offered reasonable value for money, with good service from the staff throughout my visit. The location is excellent – right in the centre of Worthing and just a short walk from the seafront, which made it very convenient.
That said, the hotel itself is clearly in need of some renovation. My room felt very dated, and the shower wasn’t particularly practical, with the shower head set so low it was awkward to use. The toiletries situation was also a bit puzzling, as there was only a single dispenser of a purple liquid that could have been either shampoo or body wash – not the most guest-friendly setup.
The corridors were another drawback, as they were very dimly lit. The proximity-activated lights only came on when you were practically underneath them, which made walking down the hallway feel rather gloomy.
In summary, the Chatsworth offers a great location and good service at a fair price, but the rooms and facilities really do need modernising. With some investment, it could be an excellent place to stay, but at the moment it feels a little tired.

Ideal location beside the promenade; facing peaceful green gardens and view of sea - so best of both. Friendly reception, we were given an upgrade on arrival. I was glad to have booked in good time at a very fair rate. A Canadian male on front desk especially welcoming as was a very patient, sunny young woman - both dealing with some pressure in person and on the phone, as hotel rooms were all full. The same cheerful coping/cooperation was evident next morning when breakfast demand was high. The hotel displays an Award received for the high quality of its Breakfasts. Plenty of choice for full English cooked and options for lighter Continental, including fresh fruit salad. Building is old, historic and characterful, clean and well-tended (the flowers in Reception were real) - the very opposite of stark modern blocks. The room was small but adequate for our needs/short stay, with comfortable twin beds, both windows were open to cooling air. Shower very easy to operate; it is within the bath itself so requires some agility to access. Parking is on-street, we were outside front door (card £1.80 per hour, cash in multiples of 90p for 30 mins); it is possible to 'over-pay' overnight, so there is no morning rush to avoid a Fine first thing. We were visiting for a funeral, at which I was to speak, and stayed one night; it was peaceful to rest after travelling and to prepare for the Service. Chatsworth was a good choice for us and we can recommend.

Service was good with friendly staff. Room was very old, floor was unevenness, although was clean with nice seaview.
Seagulls doesn't allow to sleep if you stay on the top floor room

there are 2 very good points and quite a few bad points
Location is excellent almost in front of the sea, in a very nice area with restaurants and a long promenade on the sea.
The guy at the desk was absolutely kind helpful and friendly.
Structure is old fashioned, nice from outside but once you go to the rooms they are old, the heavy curtains smell dust as the carpet, bed was absolutely unconfortable as the mattress was too soft when I sat I thought I would be sitting on the floor.
The worse part of it all are the wardrobe ( old, smelling closed ) and the bathroom which was very small with a tiny shower and a very tiny washbasin. It was very difficult to turn the shower off and I had to ask the kind guy at the desk to help me to turn it off .
The room did not make me feel at ease at all.

Good Hotel.. It will be very helpful if cash is accepted instead of card only. Furthermore, the laundry service should be brought back and availability of microwave.

This lovely traditional hotel sits on the sea front located near to the beach restaurants and town. There can be some noise from the road and the floors and bathroom extractor fans are quite noisy.
Staff were very polite and helpful. We were able to take our dog into our room and breakfast once ordered taken to our room to eat.
