Stayed one night on a side trip on our way from Memphis to New Orleans. Saw this spot on YouTube and decided to book up, what a great choice, the house has so much history and been beautifully restored. From the Civil War cannon ball in the wall to the beautiful furniture & paintings, Cedar inn has so much character. Our room was lovely, so well decorated with a good shower. The staff are soooo friendly and professional which creats a lovely atmosphere, the food is beautiful (my wife is a chef and she was very impressed) we had breakfast & dinner. Threre is a nice out door pool which was a bit cold. Be aware this house is over 200 years old so obviously no elevator, so bring a small bag with what you need for your stay unless you can haul a suitcase up the stairs.

Had the pleasure of booking the breakfast and estate tour for my birthday. Would have liked to have stayed here but they were booked. The breakfast was delicious and the ladies in the dining room were very pleasant. This restored gem is beautiful and the restoration is to be commended. Amy and her staff went above and beyond to make our morning very enjoyable. Look forward to staying in the future.

We stayed here for our 22nd anniversary, and enjoyed our stay. Our room was #5 the John Klein Jr with a king bed. Room is fill of antiques, the bed was extremely comfortable. The bathroom was small but workable. I personally would hang a different curtain that a lace one in the bathroom. As far as we could tell, the neighboring homes were below eyesight (we hope, lol). The breakfast was ok. The portions are a little on the small side according to my 6'4" and 230 lb husband. I would strongly recommend making dinner reservations one night. Very delicious. I had the pork tenderloin with a peppercorn cognac sause that was absolutely amazing. Hubby had the 8 oz filet mignon and said it was delicious. The dinners are pricey, so keep that in mind.

Definitely not what we expected from the beautiful pics of the property online. Unfortunately we were in the annexe and therefore didn’t get to stay in the main house which is what we had wanted. The kitchen and bar were closing at 8pm so dinner and drinks wasn’t an option so had to drive downtown (told we shouldn’t walk). Ladies servicing breakfast were very friendly.

Very interesting old house. We liked looking at the rooms and furnishings. Don't miss the cannon balls still in the wall and floor! Staff was nice. Breakfast was good. We had a yogurt parfait to start and then sausage, scrambled eggs, and biscuits. They also had coffee, tea, and juice available. Parking is in the back and you enter through the back. The parking was a little confusing at first. We weren't sure where to turn in from the direction we came from. Our guess was right though and we figured it out. :)

The property is amazing! Keeping in mind this property is from the 1800’s. We were transported back in time. My kids will never remember the whatever inn or whoever suites we stayed at that one time.. They will always remember this place. The history, the cannonball stuck in the wall, the view and overall experience. It will always be a memory that sticks out. It is such a peaceful property. We stayed in the Riverview Sweet #34 which is not in the main house. It is at the back of the property up 2 flights of stairs but the view is worth it. I will say it is a little noisy at night because at that level you are up at street level to the main road through historic Vicksburg. The staff is so kind and accommodating and breakfast was so good! We would definitely come back again if we come back through Vicksburg.

When we arrived there was no one at reception, we waited 10mins then a woman arrived and apologised. She took us to our room, which was upstairs through doors, which took us outside, first room on left, 8 Uncle Henry's room. It was very nice all made to look oldy worldy but new furniture. Bed was extremely comfortable. All nice and clean and airy. We sat down on the veranda and watched the setting up of wedding being held next day, lovely place to get married. We booked to have a tour of the house, and the lady who owns the property did the tour. It was very informative, and she was wonderful We had a really nice evening meal and a tasty cocktail that was recommended by the lovely woman who served us. Breakfast was also delicious apart from the grits, first time tried not to my liking. Definitely recommend this place and recommend visit into Vicksburgh and visit Coca-Cola shop where it all started.

My husband and I wanted a long weekend away, and Vicksburg was a place we had wanted to go ever since we moved to Memphis. We both were employed by a major international hotel company and are entitled to Friends and Family rates when available- so choosing a Bed and Breakfast was out of our comfort zone. A little on-line research brought me to Cedar Grove. Amazing! The house is stunning, our room (#8 Uncle Henry's Room) was comfortable and well appointed, and the food was extraordinary. Our dinner was one of the best meals I have had in years. 5 stars all around- we would totally go back!

The house and the room were fantastic. We stayed in Grant's Room. The Union General and US President stayed in that very room during the siege of the city. The house if full of history. Be sure to stay for the morning tour. The host, Latonya Brown, is exceptional. Her love for her city and the house showed throughout the tour. It was very educational. Her hospitality guaranteed that we will return to stay again. We stayed for dinner. The pork tenderloin and the catfish were amazing. The staff were attentive and courteous. The room itself is full of history. The bed frame is the same frame Grant slept on. The room was brimming with nostalgia. The mattress was comfortable. The shower was great. The room had all the present day comforts you would want in a bed and breakfast. We cannot wait to return.
