Shibuya
This was a great hotel to stay in for the duration of two nights. I would definitely go back when I visit Shibuya again. I loved that the hall had paintings. Everything you need is provided in the room and if you need extras like razor blades or cotton swabs, the front desk if happy to accommodate you with as well.
Dormy Inn EXPRESS Meguro-Aobadai Hot Spring

BEWARE Not recommended for solo females OR couples with females! I chose this place because of the listed spa amenity. It says separate areas for men and women. FALSE that is a lie! There is 1 area only, and separate DAYS for men and women. Men get 5 days (weekdays), women get 2 days (weekends). I arrived Sunday night, and the lady took so long to check me in and finally got to explaining the spa at which point I said, wait, so I only have 20 minutes now to use the spa? She said ”Sorry, 15 min sorry” So I had to rush, while she was still talking to me about the ramen I don't care! So I got to use the spa for 10 min! So I booked another hotel, Super Hotel I stayed at before that I know has 2 separate areas and the spa is open ALL night until 9am. I asked Dormy to give me a refund because of the false advertising. Of course they say sorry no. I would not have stayed there if I had known this. Seeing that I was a single female booking they should have notified me. And what I really cannot tolerate is gender inequality. I know this is a more male dominate society, but that is old and backwards and I do not support that type of thinking. Please do not support this gender inequality! If you are a woman, this is NOT the hotel for you. Location is also weird and not much to walk to. Who cares about the Starbucks you can get that anywhere. I left first thing in the morning, I don't care if I lost money on it, I wasn't going to stay there a minute longer.

Shibuya
Very cute, warm , small and petite lobby . Lobby would be the size of a large bedroom with a small sit out ( about 2 sofas) and desk . People at the desk are super friendly . Most can understand English at the desk and one of the front desk lady speaks impeccable english ( she stayed in US for few years ). I stayed in such a small room for the first time. If you are travelling with 2 suitcase, there is probably no space to put both of them. I didnt like the bed though : wrought iron bed , bit creaky and shaking. I personally like beds that you can sit and lean on while reading ... not possible here. The room lighting is very dim and i have never seen such small bathrooms/ shower before. The railway station is 10 minutes walk, many eateries right in front ( local japanese, turkish, Indian, american diner, Thai food ... most options available ). Shibuya

Shinjyuku Okubo House

Shinjuku Area
It only takes 10 minutes from the B&B to Shinjuku in Wang District, which is a good choice! Our family of 5 people (2 large and 3 small), the room was very clean, as the photo introduced on Trip.com; There is a large room with 2 double beds and the other room with a double bed, which is just enough to sleep in the larger room than 3 children. The homestay provides toothbrushes, shaving cream, shower gel, shampoo, moisturizer and basic tea bags and coffee. And the same good thing is that he can cook there, and I will book this one next time! Also make a Shabu Shabu!
Tokyu Stay Meguro Yutenji

Was bracing myself after reading all the reviews here, and it turned out to be better than good. The service is professional, informative and orderly. Arrived a bit early and cooled off in the small lobby where they had a coffee machine to make hot or iced drinks. Small amenities station next to the elevator. After check-in, I opened the door to reveal a cute and cozy place that was bright. When you enter, there is a washing machine, large kitchen sink, small cupboard with two sets of dishes, induction stove, microwave, mini-fridge and electric kettle. Didn't use any of the major appliances. Most importantly, the bed was comfortable, with a comforter, top sheet and 4 assorted pillows. The receptionist explained that there is limited cleaning and you navigate this using the magnetic hotel door signs. If you do have a longer stay, room cleaning has a small fee as listed on the faded hotel folders. Liked that there were a ton of electrical outlets in logical places. There is a small wood table to set up your laptop or have some simple meals, a corner couch and a stool opposite. Wifi was stable and lighting was bright. Judging from the bathroom, this was probably built in the 70s and yeah, you can look for mold and other imperfections like carpet stains, but it's forgivable, because the room was very clean otherwise. The balcony was small enough to just stand and you can see the city lights from the 6th floor. Did hear a kid throwing a mid-day tantrum and it echoed down the hall. Stayed for two nights and would consider staying here again because of the local neighborhood and walkable areas with a good amount of modern shops and restaurants. It's peaceful. You could also walk along the train line toward Naka-Meguro station, another great local neighborhood. Lobby doors are accessed with your key card. Yutenji Temple has picnic tables, a children's playground and is about a 10 -minute walk. The subway is about a 3-minute walk and easy to transfer to the Narita Express when you depart. If it's your first time to Japan, this might feel far from the Shibuya Scramble action. However, it seemed to be good value for the time I booked.
