I booked this hotel because it was touted as one of Asia's top 100 onsen hotels for 2025. However, apart from the hot springs being decent, every other aspect of the service was a massive letdown. To begin with, both the kaiseki dinner and the breakfast the following day were truly subpar. The room was dreadfully small. Furthermore, despite inquiring about kimonos (as there were none in the room) with both the front desk manager and a server, who assured us they would send them up shortly and even took our sizes, not a single kimono materialized by the time we checked out the next day. We paid over 7,000 RMB for a family tatami room for four, including breakfast and dinner. At this price point, anyone staying here is simply getting ripped off. There will absolutely not be a second visit, and I also sensed a certain unfriendliness towards Chinese guests.

The hotel is quite big. It takes a big slope to get there from the station. It's too hard to pull the luggage. I wanted to call to pick up, but the store number provided by Ctrip was one digit less, so I couldn't get through. It happened that a ********* family called the station pick-up number and picked us up together.
The hotel is good, the service staff is very enthusiastic, the mountain view outside the window is beautiful, and there is no one in the hot spring at night, so you can enjoy the private bath treatment.
You can also open a private bath for free.
Because Ctrip's phone number is wrong, I can't contact the hotel, and I didn't book dinner in advance. When I checked in, the dinner was fully booked. I wanted to find food in the town, but the better restaurants were also fully booked. Be sure to book dinner in advance during the peak tourist season.

Guest UserChorakuen Ryokan is a truly traditional Japanese inn, with all rooms featuring tatami mat flooring. The ryokan boasts excellent onsen baths, and both the Kinsen (Gold Spring) and Ginsen (Silver Spring) were a delight to soak in. They also provide Chinese-speaking staff, and every employee was incredibly polite, always greeting guests with a bow. The kaiseki dinner we had ordered was absolutely delicious. Overall, a fantastic experience!

Camilla TamI booked this place at the last minute as we wanted to extend our stay in Arima Onsen by one night and most hotels were fully-booked. I searched on *********** but couldn't find any suitable accomodation so thought to try Trip.com. This hotel came up only on this site and I was delighted to find it. At first I was concerned by the lack of reviews, but all the reviews were good and the room looked ideal for a family of four; 2 western beds and 2 tatami beds, with spacious living area and separate bathroom and toilet. It was really great value for money. The size of the room was very generous, and the facilities were great. We made use of the Onsen baths and the table tennis room during our stay. None of the staff spoke english but this wasn't an issue as they were all adept at using google translate. The location is also fine - it is situated between the town and the ropeway, so it is easy walking distance to each, which was very useful since they dont offer any shuttle service. All in all I would reccomend it for a short stay in Arima onsen as it is really good value for money.

NGUYEN LE HONG SONThe hotel has a considerable history. Situated high in the mountains, the air is pleasant. The Japanese-style rooms are excellent, and the balconies are nice. It has all the necessary amenities for a holiday. The onsen is really good, with many indoor and outdoor baths. Because it's an old and large hotel, there are certainly some areas that could be improved. But overall, it's still acceptable considering the price and the quality of service.
