"The hotel has a unique design and is located in Meriken Park, Kobe Port. Standing on the balcony and gazing out at the sea, it feels as if you're on a real ship's deck. During check-in, the hotel thoughtfully provides drinks, coffee, and snacks. I initially thought it was very far from the JR station, but after getting familiar with the area, I realized the location is quite good. It's a 10-15 minute walk to Daimaru and Motomachi. It's worth noting that the hotel shuttle bus times provided by Trip.com are incorrect; the shuttle actually runs quite frequently, not just once an hour. I even took photos for other travelers' reference."

"This hotel exceeded my expectations. The room was very comfortable, and I loved the thoughtful design of the bedside lamp controls. The size of the room was also quite generous. The bathroom was relatively new and spacious, and the soundproofing was good too. I would definitely choose to stay here again the next time I visit Kobe."

"This colonial-style hotel is imbued with a strong maritime theme from the lobby to the bar, restaurant, and executive lounge. Every detail, from the ceiling fans, shutters, telescopes, heavy wooden desks, and leather chairs in the rooms, to the tropical plants and wicker weaving in the restaurant, and the magenta swan display rack and fabric sofas in the lobby, exudes a refined charm with a sense of history. The hotel breakfast was also quite good, with a satisfying variety and excellent quality. This time, my room included a minibar and executive lounge access. The minibar was superb, with delicious complimentary chocolates and snacks for drinks, as well as local beer and fresh juices. However, please note that the executive lounge does not allow children, so unfortunately, I couldn't experience it fully this time, only went in for a quick look. My child did get a huge, delicious cookie. I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit Kobe!"

"An older hotel but still very comfortable. Complimentary beverages are available at the reception and there’s a convenience store right next door for added convenience. The rates are affordable making it a great option for both short and long stays. The room was clean and overall there’s really nothing to complain about considering the price. "The service was excellent! I believe true old-money style is all about staying calm and unruffled, and this hotel's smart facilities and attentive staff perfectly embody that. I arrived quite late, and the hotel was very thoughtful, upgrading me to a sea-view room. I went out for a day to the hot springs and returned to extend my stay, and they continued to upgrade my room. During my stay, it rained, and I took one of the hotel's umbrellas. I accidentally picked up someone else's umbrella when I returned, but the front desk kindly kept the wrong umbrella and exchanged it for the correct one. All in all, the service was superb, and the smiling service was very much appreciated."

"The hotel's location is excellent, offering a quiet retreat while being just across the street from Sannomiya Shopping Street, and to the west, it connects directly to Daimaru department store. The hotel is very clean. We booked a 'leisure twin room' which even had a small massage chair and was quite spacious; we could easily open up two large suitcases. The staff were also very friendly and quickly helped us call a taxi. The Italian restaurant on the second floor is absolutely delicious! The cocktails are great too, and not overpriced. We stayed for 7 days and ate there several times. Sometimes after a long day of sightseeing, we didn't want to go out, so we'd just order room service. We'll definitely choose this hotel again when we visit Kobe next time."

"Kobe is an excellent destination for a comfortable family trip with kids. It offers mountains, the sea, cable cars, parks, an aquarium, a Ferris wheel, night views, and shopping. We chose this hotel purely for its convenient location, especially with children. It's right above Sannomiya Station, Kobe's largest transportation hub (buses, private railways, JR trains all in one place), making getting around incredibly easy. The room wasn't huge but perfectly adequate. It's a shame we weren't assigned a high-floor room this time; we would have loved to enjoy the city's night view from up there. I hope Trip.com can pay more attention to requests from Black Diamond members. We look forward to visiting Kobe again, and if we're not staying overnight at Arima Onsen, this hotel will definitely remain our top choice for 2-3 nights."

"The hotel's location is fantastic, allowing easy access to Motomachi, Sannomiya, and Meriken Park. If you arrive in the afternoon, you can explore Meriken Park first. The next day, you can walk from Motomachi to Sannomiya and Ikuta Shrine, which takes only about 20 minutes. "We stayed at Negiya Ryofukaku in Arima Onsen during the maple leaf season, opting for the West Wing's deluxe Japanese-Western mixed room with a mountain view. The hotel staff were incredibly attentive and thoughtful, making us feel truly comfortable. Looking out the window, the mountain was ablaze with vibrant red maple leaves, like a flowing oil painting—the scenery far exceeded our expectations. Upon check-out, the hotel even thoughtfully arranged a car to take us to Arima Station, which was incredibly convenient."

Great hotel to stay in and relax. They have everything we need to rest with comforts, onsen, sauna, massage chair, free ramen every night and free ice cream after onsen, just to name a few. Our room (18sqm) is more spacious than the typical business hotel. Hotel location is good, right at the edge of Kobe Chinatown, 3 min walk to the Kobe Motomachi Shopping Street, 7 min walk to the nearest JR Line of Hanshin Line Motomachi Station and 10-15min to Sannomiya Center Gai Shopping Street.

I don't speak Japanese, only a little English, so I was worried I wouldn't understand the check-in explanation. To my surprise, I actually understood it, and the staff member who explained everything was very thoughtful with their language. There's a shuttle service, and if you don't speak Japanese and want the driver to pick you up, you can ask for help at the Arima Town Tourist Information Center.

The double room was quite a bit more expensive than the king room, but it was very spacious and clean inside, truly comfortable 👍 The front desk is on the second floor, and there's a lounge next to it. It seems like they offer free snacks in the afternoon, but we didn't get to try them. The location isn't far from Sannomiya Station, but it felt like a maze around there 😵💫 Plus, with the skybridge under construction, several directions were blocked, so it took us ages to find our way in and out every time 🙃 And we had to go up and down that complicated skybridge—maybe I'm just bad with directions… It's about a 10-minute walk to the airport bus stop, which isn't super convenient if you're hauling luggage.

Not sure what has happened to Japan standard in the past couple of years but had called the hotel to confirm that linens are scent free (standard in Japan before) and was told yes. Unfortunately they are not, this new laundry detergent that is slowly spreading throughout Japan is absolutely horrible causing all sorts of allergic reactions (not only to me.) I start having rashes, compromised breathing, and inflammation issues. If it’s the same detergent used back in America, then it might be eco-friendly, but definitely not human friendly. I truly hope that Japan goes back to the way it was before the introduction of some western products filled with harmful chemicals to humans. It is not because you don’t react to it that it is not harming your body, it’s only a question of time and when it does, you won’t know why and there is no turning back. Take it from an Asian American born who was the biggest fan of American marketed products. We do have good products like ECOLAB, which is both, sustainable for the environment without compromising human health. Maybe laundry company should look into that company or simply return to Japanese products before. Good thing thing their pyjama are still scent free so I had to wrap the bed and cover with their pyjama to get through the night.

This hotel is quite close to JR Sannomiya, Hankyu Department Store, and the bus stop for Kansai Airport, though you'll need to cross a couple of traffic lights. It's a bit further from the bus stop where you arrive from Kansai Airport in Kobe and the bus stop for Arima Onsen, but overall it's acceptable, as Kobe is small and walking with luggage isn't a problem. Montbell and Patagonia are just a 2-minute walk away. It's an older hotel, but the exterior is very grand. The foreign front desk staff speak excellent English. You can store your luggage on the day of check-out and also before check-in. For under 300 [currency, e.g., Yen/CNY] without breakfast, it's fantastic value for money for a one-night stay.

This is a truly excellent hotel. It was exceptionally clean and the room was spacious. As I was traveling solo, I left the second bed completely untouched to make cleaning easier for the staff. The friendliness of the staff was also very impressive, and breakfast was superb. Many thanks to all the ANA staff for such a wonderful experience.

The hygiene was impeccable, and the front desk staff spoke excellent English. The room size was quite generous for Japan, easily accommodating a 28-inch suitcase fully open. It's about a 5-10 minute walk from JR Sannomiya, a straight shot down one road. Breakfast was at Matsuya downstairs, with two Japanese and two Western set meal options, which was more than enough.

The hotel's location is really convenient for exploring Kobe, with lots of small shops nearby and even a large supermarket next door. Even though Sannomiya Station is still under renovation, once you get your bearings, getting around isn't a big issue. It's also easy to get to Osaka, as there's a direct JR line to Umeda. Kobe is truly perfect for a city walk. I'd love to visit again sometime!

Perfect quiet onsen resort to unwind and relax. The kaiseki dinner was a highlight and buffet breakfast offered a great variety. Onsen is not too big, not crowded during our stay but probably will if it gets busy. The room was a decent size with good air conditioning and being away from the busy streets made for a peaceful stay. The only downside was the bathtub leaked whenever we showered. Free parking is available, though it’s located underneath the property so it’s best to drop off your bags first if you have a lot of luggage.

A fine hostel. No lift, so you'll have to haul your luggage up at least 4 flights of stairs. Towels are available only for rental. I didn't see much of the staff. The space was very clean, I stayed for two nights and there were only a couple other people. A little expensive for what it is, though I think prices in late December tend to be higher
