"The environment: It's quite noisy as it's located close to the railway tracks. I didn't notice this beforehand, nor did I see any previous reviews mentioning the noise. After checking in at the machine, we found ourselves assigned to a room at the very end of the corridor, closest to the tracks. The window overlooked the railway, which was less than 100 meters away. Some of the trains made incredibly loud braking sounds when arriving at the station. Even with the windows closed, it was clearly audible, feeling like it was right next to my ear when lying in bed. I checked and found that the last subway train runs around midnight, and the first one starts around 5 AM. As a result, I barely slept the first night. The following two nights, I either got used to it or was too tired, as it didn't seem as noisy as the first day.
The soundproofing of the room was also mediocre. One day, our neighbors were watching TV; the volume wasn't high, but I could hear it very clearly. Fortunately, they turned it off after a while.
So, I'd advise anyone sensitive to noise to avoid rooms on the side closer to the railway tracks.
Cleanliness: It felt quite clean.
Location: Excellent, a three-minute walk to Sannomiya Station.
Service: Check-in was self-service. On the day of check-out, it was raining, and I borrowed an umbrella from the front desk uncle, who seemed very friendly.
Facilities: The room has an electric kettle. I also noticed that it seems possible to borrow curling irons from the common area downstairs."

"it was stated as a smoking room but honestly there’s no cigarette smell! conveniently located right beside a 7-11 konbini & a few more others down the road! i love how towels, slippers, toiletries & even pajamas are generously provided. the nearest exit is exit 6 (stairs) and exit 14!!!!! (upslope if you’re heading to the hotel down) has a godsend elevator! would def book this hotel when i’m back in kobe :-)"

"My stay at Hotel Okura Kobe was generally good, but there are a few details worth sharing. Since the hotel was fully booked when we checked in, we were assigned a mountain view room and missed out on the sea view. If you're set on a sea view, I'd recommend opting for the nearby Oriental Hotel Meriken Park instead. The breakfast selection wasn't extensive, but what they offered was refined, with a good mix of Western and Asian options that should satisfy most tastes. What I liked most was the hotel's location, which made getting around very convenient. Plus, the room size was quite generous for a Japanese hotel, making for a comfortable and uncrowded stay. "The location of the hotel is superb as it was located at the Sannomiya station. You can easily identify the hotel building afar from nearby as it was one of the highest building in the district. There were tones of local restaurants and department stores nearby in walking distance. Public transportation was highly accessible to most of the tourist spots in Kobe.
The hotel receptionists was friendly and spoke fluent English. They always greeted the customers with cheerful smile and polite greetings whenever we stepped out from the elevator. For the room itself, it was clean and tidy, not extremely spacious but sufficient for opening up 2 suitcases. And the massage chair was definitely the icing on the cake in which I regarded it as the most unexpected yet satisfying element out of all of my three stays in Kobe, Kyoto and Osaka! It saved our exhausted, sore feet, back and neck every night after the long walk. Highly recommended this hotel for everyone!"

"I've stayed at this hotel twice a year for business trips, so I'm quite familiar with it. Let me tell you about the pros: The location is convenient, nestled in a quiet spot yet still in the heart of Sannomiya. It's easy to access the subway, JR lines, and buses, and it's not far from Shin-Kobe Station, about a 1300 yen taxi ride. If you're arriving from Kansai Airport, it's less than a ten-minute walk from where the airport bus drops off in Sannomiya. It's also very friendly for shoppers, with Daimaru department store and a luxury shopping street just a few hundred meters from the hotel entrance. My only minor gripe is that the breakfast selection is a bit limited and leans heavily towards Japanese style, with no boiled eggs, but this is a common situation in Japanese hotels.
Also, a quick correction regarding the room type information on Ctrip: for the medium or small double rooms at this hotel, Ctrip lists bed sizes as 1.6m and 1.3m. Having stayed here many times, I can confirm there's actually only one size: 1.54 meters wide by 2.03 meters long. I got these measurements directly from the front desk."

"The hotel is about a 10-minute walk from Sannomiya, Kobe's busiest area, and 3 minutes from Motomachi Station. Downstairs is Nanjing Town, full of Chinese restaurants, which is basically Kobe's Chinatown food street. It's very convenient for dining, drinking, and shopping. The hotel's top floor has a sauna and hot bath, along with various free cold drinks and coffee. From 9:30 PM, they also offer complimentary special soy sauce ramen as a late-night snack. The room isn't huge, but it has everything you need; two large suitcases can be opened up without a problem. They don't provide daily cleaning service, but if you leave your trash and used towels outside the door, the staff will collect them and provide fresh ones. Overall, everything was excellent and quiet. Every day I'd wake up and it would already be almost 10 AM! 😂 I would definitely choose to stay here again next time I visit."

"The hotel's location is excellent, right within the Motomachi shopping street, yet surprisingly quiet. Next door there's a lovely coffee shop with great coffee and delicious bread. Several famous old coffee shops like Nishimura, Kohshodo, Taco, the bakery Riki, and a drugstore are all within a 1-2 minute walk. Daimaru department store is conveniently located at the entrance of the shopping street. It's about a 3-minute walk to JR Motomachi Station, and you can reach Osaka Umeda in about 30 minutes. Sannomiya, Kobe, is roughly a 10-15 minute walk away. This hotel offers easy access to everything.
What's particularly impressive is that the hotel cleans the rooms daily, which is not always common in Japan. Even if you don't require a full cleaning, they'll hang fresh toiletries and towels on your door. Although the room isn't huge, it's perfectly fine for a solo traveler. It's clean, well-maintained, and offers incredible value for money, truly exceeding my expectations and making my trip more enjoyable. The front desk also has staff who speak Chinese, and everyone is incredibly patient and always smiling. The service is truly top-notch."

"Pros:
1. The lobby is grand and spacious, which is quite rare for hotels in Japan.
2. The location is excellent. There's a subway station right downstairs, and Shin-Kobe Station is just a 3-minute walk away, making Shinkansen access super convenient. The cable car station for Nunobiki Herb Garden is also next door, and Kitano Ijinkan (Foreigner's Residences) is only a 10-minute walk.
3. The view from the guest room window is lovely.
4. The breakfast buffet is of high quality, and there's also a Japanese set breakfast option (if you're staying only 1-2 nights, I recommend sticking to the buffet; for three nights, you might try the set meal one day).
5. The staff are well-trained and have excellent service attitudes.
Cons:
1. The guest rooms' decor and furniture are quite outdated and lack design flair. They are overly simple and plain, not matching the impressive lobby.
2. In November, there was no air conditioning in the room. The south-facing room got a lot of sun, making it very stuffy and hot. I had to keep the emergency exit open to make it more bearable.
Overall, it's still worth recommending."

AAndrea ElijhaOverall, the experience was pleasant, with the only minor drawback being the price, which was a bit steep. While I had hoped for a more traditional Japanese garden and architecture, the hotel itself leans towards a modern Japanese aesthetic.
Visiting in summer, gazing at the lush green mountains through the window truly feels like a picturesque framed view, and the hot springs were wonderfully rejuvenating. However, I suspect autumn would be the most opportune time to visit, to witness the mountains ablaze with crimson foliage (assuming the trees aren't evergreen).
A misunderstanding arose at check-out due to unclear communication regarding payment policies between the booking platform, the hotel, and myself. The hotel insisted they had not received the online payment and demanded offline payment for a range of services, including breakfast, dinner, taxes, accommodation, and private onsen. As a customer, I initially thought I was being double-charged, as I had already made a payment online. The total cost for the two-day stay was approximately 221,110 JPY, which converts to roughly 11,000 HKD or CNY.
Upon immediately contacting Trip.com's customer service, they confirmed that our online payment covered both accommodation and meals, and advised that the hotel's demand for offline payment for these items was contentious and unnecessary. It was only later clarified that the payment made on Trip.com was merely a hold to secure the room and would be fully refunded upon check-out.

The traditional Japanese-style room (washitsu) was a particularly charming touch. Both dinner and breakfast were exquisitely prepared, and the onsen (hot spring) was wonderfully relaxing. We stayed with my parents and children, and everyone in our group was thoroughly delighted.

Room is very clean and bathroom is spaces that I can sit on bath tub and shower. It would be perfect if the room is slightly bigger. They charge parking for 2000¥ for night which is too high for me but the front desk young lady ( ********* girl) who was very friendly and helpful, she recommended me to park my car at nearby coin parking which cost me on 800¥ for 24 hours. I called the hotel front desk immediately when I arrived at the bus station, and the hotel shuttle bus arrived in about 5 minutes. Don't walk to the hotel by yourself, don't! ! ! The hotel facilities are not bad. The room is not big, but it has everything it should have. The Jintang Hot Spring is really great and washed away the fatigue along the way! I booked a one-night stay and two-night stay. The kaiseki cuisine for dinner was great! The quantity was very large! The quantity was very large! I went back to the room after eating too much, and rested for an hour before going to the hot spring! The next day, I ran directly to the train station, which was very convenient! The hotel provides carbonated cakes and Japanese confectionery. After eating, you can consider whether you really want to buy this as a souvenir.

KkarekarekareBook a female dorm room for 4 people, but I was alone so have the room for myself. The bed is futon style, a thin foam and then the futon mattress itself. We get a new white sheet upon check in. There's a thin full body mirror, small rack for suitcases and personal belongings, but if you need to, there's also safe box near staff room. The female dorm room is on the 2nd floor, next to the shared kitchen so you can kinda hear other guests cooking or working on their laptop with the wifi. You can have your coffe, tea, cup ramen and even light cooking is allowed as they provided the pans, and also some seasonings. The sink and the toilet is next to it, hairdryers are available and the toilet has bidet seat.
The shower room are on the b1f floor, which a little bit of hassle because you have to pass the staff room everytime. You can wash & dry you clothes too in the utility room next to it, but I dont know if they charge or not. Another kitchen and TV room is also here. Over all a pleasant place if you only looking to for a place to sleep, and wash your self. It's 5 minutes walk from Oishi station. There's a small river near too which also a nice place for a small walk.

LLucky101I recently stayed at the Kobe Sannomiya Tokyu Rei Hotel during my visit to the Kobe Exhibition, and I must say it was an excellent choice. The location is ideal, just a 15-minute subway ride to the exhibition center, with a direct line making the journey straightforward and hassle-free.
The hotel's proximity to the subway is a major plus, offering seamless travel around the city. Notably, there's only one line change required to get to Osaka, making it convenient for day trips or additional business meetings.
Surrounding the hotel, you'll find a plethora of restaurants catering to all tastes, ensuring you won't go hungry. Additionally, there's a massage center nearby, perfect for relaxing after a long day of activities. For those traveling by night buses, the station is conveniently close, making late-night travel plans easy to manage.
While the hotel amenities were generally good, I did miss the availability of free coffee, which would have been a nice touch. However, this was a minor issue in an otherwise excellent stay.
Overall, I highly recommend the Kobe Sannomiya Tokyu Rei Hotel for its prime location, convenience, and the abundance of nearby facilities. It’s an ideal choice for anyone visiting Kobe, whether for business or leisure.

Meals are between 350 and 600 per person, which is pretty good. Breakfast is more than 100 per person, which is quite cost-effective.
The front desk can communicate in English or a translator depending on the personnel situation, and the service attitude is very good.
There was a foreign waiter in the restaurant who said he was learning English, but his English was actually very good.
There were no reviews when booking, so it was a successful adventure.
