InterContinental Hotels DANANG SUN PENINSULA RESORT by IHG

Amazing

Pros: 1. The hotel's natural environment is excellent, offering sightings of incredibly rare protected animals. They also provide a free wildlife tour, which I highly recommend. It's a fantastic experience to simply walk around the hotel and spot monkeys foraging. 2. The service is outstanding. The hotel staff are attentive and very considerate of guests. The welcome drink was delicious. The hotel facilities are well-maintained, and I received a room upgrade with a great view and a spacious layout. 3. The slippers were very comfortable. The breakfast tableware was exquisite. Cons for me: 1. The claim of being the 'most beautiful Intercontinental' is an exaggeration. Some areas even felt [as pictured], though I suppose one could call it 'unique.' Personally, I found it gaudy. 2. I strongly recommend including executive lounge access. If you arrive early, since there's no air conditioning in the public areas, the only cool indoor space to relax is the executive lounge. Otherwise, you're stuck waiting in the hotel lobby, and elderly guests and children need to be careful to avoid heatstroke. 3. The breakfast was delicious, and the fruit quality was high. However, it's baffling why the other restaurants were so bad. After reading reviews that even the Michelin-starred Japanese restaurant wasn't great, I booked a package that included dinner. I paid extra to change the dishes, but they were still terrible. It was arguably the worst meal I had in Vietnam. 4. Although the hotel was uncrowded and had a good environment, the beach quality was very average, and the loungers by the sea started closing down every day at 6 PM. In summary, I think this Intercontinental is worth staying at, but don't go in with exceptionally high expectations.

This was a hotel that I spent a long time researching before booking. It had excellent reviews and a very high rating online. Unfortunately, my experience was a case of “looks great from a distance, but not quite as impressive up close.” Let me start with the positives. The lobby is beautiful, with a charming vintage design that creates a great first impression. The front desk staff were friendly, helpful, and communicated well in English. Upon arrival, we were offered cold towels and refreshing welcome drinks, which was a nice touch after a long journey. We decided to have lunch at the hotel’s restaurant. The food was average—not particularly memorable, but enough to satisfy our hunger. The staff escorted us and our luggage to the room. At first glance, the room looked acceptable, but as someone who is quite particular about cleanliness, I quickly noticed a significant amount of dust on various surfaces. I tried not to dwell on it because, for me, the most important thing is a clean and comfortable bed. Unfortunately, that night became the worst part of our stay. I barely slept during my first night. Throughout the night, I felt as though something was biting my skin, and I found myself constantly scratching. It was extremely uncomfortable and frustrating. The following morning during breakfast, a staff member kindly asked how we had slept. I honestly explained my experience and mentioned that I felt I had been bitten by something during the night. I requested that the bed linens be changed. To their credit, the staff responded immediately. They informed the front desk, and shortly afterwards a manager came to speak with us personally, apologised sincerely, and arranged for a deep cleaning of our room. At that moment, I truly appreciated their attitude because they made me feel that they genuinely cared and were actively trying to solve the problem. We then left for our day of sightseeing. When we returned to the hotel that afternoon, I was genuinely surprised. The room felt completely different from the day before. It smelled fresh and clean, every surface had been thoroughly wiped down, the floors were spotless, and even the musty smell that I had previously noticed was gone. The room finally felt as clean as I had expected from a highly rated hotel. As an additional gesture, the hotel offered me a complimentary 20-minute herbal bath treatment as compensation. I thought that was a thoughtful gesture and appreciated the effort they made to make things right. Most importantly, I slept wonderfully on the second night. For service and recovery, I would honestly give the team more than full marks. While the initial issue should not have happened, the way they handled the situation was professional, sincere, and efficient. As for breakfast, it was decent and perfectly acceptable. There was enough variety, although I believe there is still room for improvement. I would still recommend this hotel. The location is excellent, with many attractions and the riverside within easy walking distance. Regarding the facilities, they are all on the smaller side. The swimming pool is beautiful but quite small. The gym is compact, and the children’s playroom is also rather limited in size. None of these were deal-breakers for us, but they are worth noting for future guests. Overall, while the stay did not start well, the outstanding service recovery and excellent location left a positive final impression. No hotel is perfect, but what matters is how they respond when something goes wrong—and this hotel handled it exceptionally well.

Check-in on the night of June 15th, check-out on June 17th. I'm writing an honest review to help fellow Koreans. *Overall, the hotel staff are friendly.* *The room is quiet with no noticeable noise.* *The air conditioning is very cold.* *You can watch YouTube.* 1. This hotel requires a deposit of 1,000,000 VND per night. Any paid services you use at the hotel (laundry, F&B, etc.) will be deducted from your deposit upon check-out. Korean guests, please keep this in mind. 2. Late check-out is possible (if the hotel isn't fully booked). Many people take late-night flights back home. My flight was at 11 PM, and I extended my check-out until 6 PM for about 1,400,000 VND. 3. The hotel is a 5-minute walk from Han Market. Along the way, you'll find Cong Cafe, 4P's Pizza, and Michelin-starred restaurants. The location is unbeatable. 4. While the rooftop pool isn't huge, the view is great, making it worth using every day. (However, the food and beverage service from the bar is generally expensive). Two cocktails can easily set you back 600,000-700,000 VND. I recommend enjoying it once and then finding other bars. 5. The rooftop bar that operates in the evening only sells cocktails, not food. This is also very expensive. I recommend trying it once for the experience. 6. The breakfast selection isn't vast, but the quality is above average. This is especially noticeable in the freshly made pho, fried eggs, and omelets, which are excellent. The other buffet items are standard. I think women would particularly enjoy the breakfast, especially the delicious bread. 7. The room was clean, and the cleaning quality was good, but it seems they don't check the amenity levels. Some were empty and weren't refilled. 8. This was a pleasant surprise: it was my birthday during my stay, and I hadn't mentioned or requested anything, but they still prepared a birthday dessert in my room. 9. There was only one minor disappointment: my girlfriend and I checked in near midnight on June 15th. It's a 5-star hotel, but there was no bellboy to help with our luggage. Perhaps it was due to the late hour? From a service perspective, this was a letdown for a newly built 5-star hotel right from the first impression. Finally, I've attached photos of the breakfast, and I hope my review helps everyone staying at this hotel.

My impression of Risemount was that it felt fresh, modern, and youthful. However, my overall experience did not fully meet my expectations. I arrived at the hotel at 3:30 PM, but there was no greeting at the entrance. At that time, only one receptionist was assisting another guest. While I was carrying my child and two hand-carry suitcases to the counter, a female staff member from another desk kindly came over to help me with the check-in. After checking in, I was offered a glass of ginger tea with honey. At first, the flavor felt quite strong and slightly spicy, so I thought it might contain a bit of alcohol. After asking, I understood that it was ginger tea with honey, which was a thoughtful welcome drink. In the room, I noticed a strand of hair in the bathtub, and the showerhead in the standing shower was loose, causing water to splash outside. Together with the bathroom slippers, this made me feel a bit uncomfortable and less safe while using the bathroom. The soundproofing could also be improved, as I could still hear traffic noise and sounds from the neighboring room even with the windows and doors closed. During the night, I was disturbed by mosquitoes and couldn’t sleep well. At around 2 AM, my daughter, who was very tired after a long day at the beach, had an accident in bed. I tried to contact housekeeping and the reception for assistance, but unfortunately, I could not reach anyone at that time. This was quite inconvenient during our stay. In addition, although the breakfast offered a wide variety of dishes, I personally felt that the presentation and overall setup could be more refined to better match the hotel’s standard.

The hotel is modern and comfortable, just a short walk from the beach, with exceptionally friendly staff. While the ventilation in the elevators could be improved and the breakfast selection is somewhat limited, overall it was a pleasant stay. I’ll definitely return the next time I’m in Da Nang.

The hotel is very clean with excellent hygiene. The rooms are spacious, and the bedding is incredibly comfortable. I also really enjoyed the overall environment and loved the fact that they offer free Ao Dai rentals. However, the breakfast and spa experiences were disappointing. Even though there are three restaurants available for breakfast, only one serves a buffet; the other two offer unappealing set menus. As for the spa, it is definitely not worth it. We booked a package that included daily spa treatments, so we expected everything to be covered. However, after we were asked to choose a massage oil, they informed us—only after we had made our choice—that it required an extra fee of 100,000 VND. They never mentioned any complimentary oil options until our last visit when I specifically asked, 'Are there any free oil options?' and they finally said yes. Furthermore, I noticed they only use the essential oil on the arms and shoulders, switching to regular coconut oil for the back and legs. Paying extra for such a tiny amount of oil without prior warning felt quite deceptive. To make matters worse, the massage quality is inconsistent; some therapists clearly lacked training and cut corners. The towels used during the massage were also cold. I have total 4 times spa experience and overall, it was a very poor spa experience.

My second stay in just over a year as I really enjoyed staying here first time around. Glad to find the resort is still as impeccable and luxurious as before. I really like the room here as it’s big, modern and has a touch of luxury. The breakfast buffet is so good here and the ingredients are very high quality - it’s always a thing I look forward every day while staying here. I made a request for high floor which was fulfilled but the initial room was too far from the lift for my elderly mom and so I request the customer service using WhatsApp to assign me to a different room. The WhatsApp guest service is top notch and I get a response fairly quickly and we like the second room assigned very much, although there is a bit of wait while changing room. A minor point as well is the room toilet do not have shower bidet which is usually standard in Vietnamese hotels. I was looking forward for the pickleball training but I couldn’t use the free pickleball facility this time around as the indoor court is under renovation, and only 1030am slot is available for training which will use outdoor court. It’s simply not doable as the weather is so hot at this time in danang. I hope mgmt can consider different time slot next time such as earlier or much later if indoor court is not available yet. Swimming pool is so much cleaner this time than my first visit. There was algae at the bottom in my first visit that I have feedback to management, and they did take notice and put to action. Also the shuttle bus situation is now ample, we manage to catch shuttle back to hotel from Hoian every time now, unlike before where the bus was always full and we had to take grab back. Overall we really enjoyed our stay here and glad management reacted to feedback positively and implemented changes. Keep up the good work.

While the hotel's location is a bit out of the way, getting a taxi was quite easy. The air conditioning in the room had issues and wasn't fully fixed even after we reported it. The rooftop infinity pool is definitely the hotel's best feature. Breakfast was decent.

I'm very satisfied with this hotel. The staff are friendly and responsible. My kids lost their swimming goggles and coin purse, and the staff helped us find them, which I really appreciate. The water park and hot springs are also highly recommended. They truly care about their guests, and my whole family had a wonderful time.

This place is perfect for those who love relaxation. It's the best spot for families with kids. The grounds are beautiful and well-maintained. The reception service is excellent; the staff really try their best. The only downside is the language barrier – you'll definitely need a translator. The food gets an 8 out of 10. Everything in the restaurant is lovely, and they have a great selection. Both the kids' and adult pools are excellent. There are 3 restaurants and a nightclub on site. We got an early check-in and a free transfer, plus a fantastic 60-minute massage and a tea ceremony. The Marble Mountains are just a 3-minute walk away (with cafes, souvenir shops, and a mini-market nearby). It's a 20-minute motorbike ride to Hoi An (we went and it was great!). And about 15-20 minutes by Grab bike to Da Nang city center (My Khe Beach). Every day, there's a free, comfortable, air-conditioned car departing from the hotel at 9:00 AM, with a return pick-up at 3:00 PM (you *must* book this in advance). If you're looking for peace, quiet, delicious food, and relaxation, this is the place for you.
