"The heritage Kandalama Hotel is in the heart of the Gungal near a lake. The hotel was designed with consideration and respect for the environment, the animals that live there and the nature that surrounds the hotel.
The room is cozy and well-equipped and includes a balcony overlooking the jungle. The infinity pool overlooks a lake where elephants and birds stay. We received a pleasant welcome from the hotel staff. The dining room is immersed in green and the breakfast is great. We received excellent service and personal attention from the entire staff at the hotel. We arrived at the hotel without luggage and they made sure to coordinate the arrival of the luggage for us.
We liked Nalinda the kind guide from the hotel who took us on a morning tour and since then we became friends. Nalinda took care of our well-being even after we left the hotel. Thank you very much for a pleasant stay. Definitely recommended for those who want to rest and relax in a dreamy place."

Outstanding
11367113****I am very satisfied with this hotel. The rooms are in the form of tree houses, which are very unique. The hotel environment is good and the privacy is also very good. It does not feel crowded or noisy at all. It is very suitable for vacation. The swimming pool is very clean and beautiful, and the night view is also beautiful. We will recommend this place to every friend who is going to Sri Lanka.
MMINBooked the Danbulak Kandalam Heritage Hotel, but later said the hotel was full, let ’s change the hotel, changing the hotel we wanted before the trip was really uncomfortable at first, then Ctrip let us choose the hotel ourselves because of time I was nervous when I chose the water garden hotel, but I did n’t have much hope, but the staying experience was very good, the rooms are comfortable, the environment is quiet, you can overlook the Lion Rock. Returned the difference to me, very good hotel, added points for my trip to Sri Lanka, thanks
GGuest UserI was able to stay in the wilderness and the service was great, but the drainage of the shower in the villa I stayed in was completely useless and the water overflowed from the shower room. Fortunately, there was another bathroom, so I tried to use it, but I don't think it will improve unless I redo the left-handed construction on the floor of the shower room. And when I was taking a shower in the middle of the night, the water supply suddenly stopped coming out, so I spilled it with mineral water. If I hadn't improved by the morning, I was going to tell the front desk, and I was going to leave in the morning.
XXingma7788The room is so big and amazing. It's a luxurious experience at a price of more than 800. The scenery in the courtyard is beautiful and you don't want to leave. The courtyard is very large. You need a shuttle bus to go to and from the restaurant. The car was sent quickly after calling. I really should stay a few more days. I have recommended it
__WeChat12600****Facilities: Complete facilities, with its own private small swimming pool and massage
Hygiene: Overall it is quite clean
Environment: Very primitive, with peacocks in the yard
Service: Very good service, the waiter helped with the luggage. Breakfast can be booked in advance, you can try the local Sri Lankan breakfast
MMark RizzutoOur least popular hotel stay in Sri Lanka. We checked in for 4 nights and needed to ask for a room change the following day given the toilet smelt and slowly kept flooding the bathroom floor. That problem clearly pre-existed, but given most people only stay a night, It wasn't something that was high on the hotels priority list to address. The coaches come and go carrying 55-70 year old Europeans and Chinese, and they only stay a night. The level of service at this hotel wasn't a great experience, with reception needing management attention. There were exceptions (pool guy and luggage porter were both lovely).
The most frustrating thing about this hotel is that they should be rocking it. It's a great location, nice pool and a good setting, but that's where it stops. The rooms and restaurant are physically tired. Food was pretty average bordering poor despite being plentiful in choice. They had live music playing at night, which was so 'live' that it sent us to sleep early two nights in a row. Great idea, terrible execution, and that is pretty much how we would sum up the place.
It's no surprise that the hero promotional shot used by the hotel to market it's hotel is the photo of the view from the swimming póol to Lions Rock. Sadly, that's the only hero experience to be found at this hotel.
ちちこるんWe stayed for 2 nights for sightseeing in Sigiriya Rock, but it was a nice resort hotel living in a large forest.
The room was a two-story cottage style and our room was on the first floor. It was noisy that the footsteps of the people on the upper floor heard the slapstick from 4 o'clock in the morning and I was worried about the smell of the drain, but the rice was delicious (breakfast did not change much) It was good to be able to eat comfortably at the restaurant in front of the pool where the refreshing breeze passes. I had dinner because there was no restaurant nearby, but I chose the first night from the a la carte menu, and the second night was a buffet with plenty of curry and desserts. On the second day, I was troubled because I couldn't use Wi-Fi on the 1 day due to network failure, but it was fixed the next morning.
The staff were kind and smiley. Because the hotel is remote, I asked the hotel to arrange a round trip to Sigiriya Rock and a round trip to Pidulangara, but it was said that it was 4800 ruby twice. The same driver came on both days and was a good young man, but the local guide was surprised that this price was much higher than the tuk-tuk I caught around it. Please be careful if you are using it.
GGuest UserThe facilities are very old, the room smells like old wood, and the air conditioner is very noisy, which affects sleep a bit. The room is divided into two floors, with a single bed in the upper loft and a double bed below. However, the temperature upstairs is always higher than that downstairs, so if there are many people, sleeping upstairs may not be so comfortable.
