The hotel is located in the Loop area, with a relatively high safety factor. The location is excellent, close to the Chicago River, and it is very convenient for boat trips. Although the solution provided by Ctrip is a drop in the bucket, it is more important to be in a good mood when you go out, so I just give up. The staff were amazing so I want everyone to know that part. This is not the front desk staff. Now on to the bad…. The rooms are not clean. I dislike having to say this. But it’s facts. When walking in the room- first thing we notice is a huge pretty fresh stain on floor that screamed puke. It was attempted to be cleaned but the orange stain was disgusting. The windows were smudged. The glass tables had finger prints all over. The walls had dried splashes of who knows what and edges around the room at knee high were full of dust. Soap was left in shower and the floor when the door was opened and closed was disgusting. No liners in garbage cans. The front desk was very understanding and switched us rooms. Problem was it was a downsize. We lived through it but will all the hotels we have stayed in while in the city - (dozens- as we are only 2 hours away and like to stay at different places) this one unfortunately we will not be returning too.

The hotel was in a great location. The staff was helpful and professional. When we first got there, we were confused because the hotel lobby is on the second floor, but we were directed to where we needed to go. The hairdryer in my room didn't work, so I let the front desk know so that they could get it replaced. The only thing I was a little disappointed about was that the rooftop wasn't available for guests and only for private parties. I think that it would be nice to offer to guests when the rooftop isn't rented out.

Overall, I had a very good stay at this hotel. The room was comfortable, and I really liked the filtered water station on our floor. It had several options and was very convenient. Guest services were excellent. Anytime we made a request, they handled it quickly and professionally. After the first night, housekeeping took our towels but didn’t replace them, so we had to call and ask for more. Thankfully, after that, we didn’t have any other towel issues. Housekeeping overall was a bit different than what I’m used to. They made the beds and handled the bathroom by emptying the trash, picking up dirty towels, and refilling tissues, but they didn’t take out the trash in the main room. Since we had a lot of takeout, that trash piled up pretty quickly. They also didn’t replenish items like used tea bags or glassware, which would’ve been helpful. We also had an issue with the fridge. It stayed warm for the first few days until we realized it hadn’t been turned on. Once we figured that out, it worked fine, but it would’ve been nice if it had been checked before we arrived. The hotel is in a beautiful location, which added to the overall experience. Despite the few small issues, the staff was friendly and responsive, and the positives definitely outweighed the negatives. I would absolutely book with them again!

Excellent location. The staff were very friendly. The only downside was the breakfast; even though it states you've booked breakfast, when you arrive, you only get credit to use at the restaurant, and the credit isn't enough for a full breakfast. Plus, they serve very few people at a time, so you have to wait to eat. On our last day, we had to wait an hour.

The environment is top-notch, with a rich sense of history, making for an excellent stay. Most importantly, it feels incredibly safe, which really put my mind at ease. Dining options nearby are super convenient; a food street is right outside, making life incredibly easy. Definitely great value for money!

I really loved the room, it had a great American vibe. The location is in the city center, very convenient with subway and bus stations nearby, plus plenty of restaurants and coffee shops. The staff were very polite and proactively helpful. The only downside was the terrible Wi-Fi; it kept disconnecting, so I ended up using my own mobile data the whole time.

Valet team was very helpful and nice. Front desk didnt seem too family friendly. Was disappointed there was no microwave in hotel room. With the price of room per night, I was expecting to be able to microwave some popcorn at the end of the night. Room with a view aparently meant we got to look at the backside of other buildings. We had no internet service in the hotel and had to purchase hotel wifi for $10 a night.

The hotel lobby is breathtakingly beautiful, like stepping back into the Golden Age. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the staff are professional and courteous. If you're in Chicago, you absolutely cannot miss this classic hotel with its rich history!

Front desk neglected to tell me you must use your room key to take the elevator to your floor or info on WiFi. No biggie, as I eventually figured it out. But the room was squeezed in a corner so you couldn't open the room door if the bathroom door was open. Luckily only 1 guest as it was tight. It was disappointing that there was no mini-fridge, couldn't find an ice maker and the workout facility desperately needs a couple of large fans as it was sweltering.
