"This hotel genuinely offers the best service I've encountered, bar none, including those from big 5-star chains. The customer service communication via WeChat was incredibly gentle and patient. From our pick-up at the station for check-in, the staff were exceptionally thoughtful and genuine. When it rained, they even brought half a dozen umbrellas to help us with our luggage – truly attentive service throughout! 👍
The front desk staff were as friendly and welcoming as family, and the complimentary afternoon tea was a perfect touch, instantly soothing our travel weariness.
The room's decor was even more stunning – refined and elegant, with impeccable attention to detail. Our dedicated staff member even drew a hot spring bath for us ahead of time. Returning from the ancient town after a light drizzle and then soaking in that warm bath was simply heavenly. Truly couldn't have been more blissful!

"The experience of staying at the Sweeten Resort was really great! Every detail from booking to check out was intimate and comfortable, completely exceeding my expectations.
The rooms are spacious and bright, and the decoration style is modern and simple, very warm. Facilities are all available: the kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator and washing machine, which can fully meet the needs of short-term home; the bathroom is clean and tidy, with plenty of hot water; the bedding is soft and comfortable, and the sleep is very reliable.

"Huge thanks to the owner for accommodating our specific pick-up and drop-off requests. Traveling with elderly parents and children, this saved us a lot of hassle. The guesthouse environment and rooms are exactly as pictured – what you see is what you get, no complaints there. Even though it wasn't a perfectly clear day, seeing the full panoramic view of the snow-capped mountains was still incredibly breathtaking. We stayed for two nights, and communication was super smooth; any issues we had were resolved immediately. The best part was definitely the free electric scooter provided by the guesthouse. It made getting around so convenient and was a lot of fun to ride. Breakfast was also delicious. Highly recommended!"

"I traveled to Lijiang, initially just looking for a simple place to stay. Unexpectedly, this accommodation became the most cherished part of my trip – especially the room where I could lie back and gaze at the snow-capped mountains!
Stepping into the room, I was greeted by a massive, wall-spanning floor-to-ceiling window, perfectly framing the snow mountain like a living masterpiece. The sense of peace and healing it brought was more comforting than any other view.
In the courtyard, a charming treehouse is nestled within a 160-year-old walnut tree. As you climb up, you can touch the hanging branches, feeling as though you've stepped right into a childhood fairy tale. The adjacent viewing platform is incredibly photogenic too; there's no need to jostle with crowds at tourist spots. Just stand here, let the snow mountains be your backdrop, and you'll get stunning photos in no time!
The hotel's back garden is equally delightful, boasting a sprawling lawn perfect for events like team-building activities or cozy bonfire nights.
Being a pet-friendly hotel, complete with complimentary unlimited coffee and juice during your stay, it truly feels like a place filled with warmth and care. What's not to love?!

The location is perfect, situated inside Yuhu Village. **I would recommend staying here if you’re visiting Lijiang.** You don’t actually need to visit Baisha or Old Town Lijiang—this place is far more beautiful. It’s quieter, less crowded, and has fewer tourists. Every corner of this hotel is aesthetically pleasing. The coffee is excellent, and they offer free pickup and drop-off service to the station. The views are magnificent.
**Cons:**
Now, onto what’s lacking. The toilets don’t have bidets. This might be acceptable for some travelers.

"The hotel environment is very good, the room even provides a separate washing machine and curling stick (this is not expected), and there is a special praise for the store manager Yusong and his service team friends, really responsive, and the reply is very timely. The hotel provides pick-up and drop-off from Baisha Ancient Town. Whether you go to the ancient town or come back, you will arrange a car transfer to the store manager. I really like it! Because the little friend's birthday, we also upgraded our suites for free, and provided a surprise service with fireworks, which was really intimate. The front desk of the hotel also provides free ice American and latte. It is especially recommended to travel to Lijiang to stay at this hotel. Their service really makes people feel at home."

"I have been to Lijiang three times and stayed in chain hotels and B&Bs. This one was newly opened this year. It has all kinds of new and complete facilities. The yard is its own, a real B&B. The owner's family are local Naxi people who all live here. They are also descendants of the Yunnan Mu Mansion. In addition to the Ancient Tea-Horse Road, I also learned some stories about the Mu Mansion. The yard is beautifully maintained, and there are all kinds of root carvings, incense and tea that I like. There are several places to drink tea, there are also fireplaces, billiard rooms, KTV rooms, and even a gym. This place is suitable for lying down. Who works out? 😜 Originally, I came here to lie down, stroll around the village, drink tea, smell the fragrance and listen to music in the yard. We also enjoyed camping, and the Jinsha River and Lashi Lake were so spectacular. We also had a barbecue, which was free as an opening event. The fare for the airport pick-up and drop-off was about 200 yuan. The room was big and the facilities were very good. I saw a note on the headboard saying that the mattress was a Mousse smart mattress that could be connected to a phone to view sleep data, but I didn't do it because it was too troublesome. The room rate was very cost-effective. I wrote so much to support the boss. Not many people know about this new business, and I hope it can provide reference for others. The pictures of the room are not good. The pictures in their store are the same as the rooms. The real thing will be better with beautiful views."

"Hotel is located near the middle of Baisha Town. Workers came out to the main road to fetch us with their small ”buggy”
Hotel also provided a free upgrade for us and within the hotel area, you can also see the snow mountain when weather is clear.

__WeChat47083****You can see Jade Dragon Snow Mountain from your bed, and you don't even have to wake up early to catch the sunrise over Jinshan! It was a shame we were foggy both nights. 😭੧ I saw other people's photos and it was so beautiful.
The room had a panoramic floor-to-ceiling window and a washing machine and dryer. My kids' clothes were dirty from dinner, so I washed them and put them in the dryer to wear the next day. The housekeeper and all the staff were so welcoming and took great care of the kids. It was a perfect trip.
The B&B is right in Baisha Ancient Town, a 5-minute walk from where you can enjoy handmade shops and afternoon tea. At night, you can fall asleep to the starry sky beneath the snow-capped mountains. ✨ The housekeeper was incredibly helpful, helping with itinerary planning and making the experience a blast!

The service was exceptional — the staff were warm, welcoming, and constantly checked in to ensure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Their hospitality truly stood out.
Breakfast was included and featured a local specialty noodle dish accompanied by a variety of delicious side dishes. Dining with a view — whether in the morning or at dinner — was a memorable experience.
The resort also provided afternoon tea, which included a fruit platter, some nuts, and a choice of drinks. I especially appreciated the peaceful and serene atmosphere while gazing at the mountains — it was a perfect moment of calm and relaxation.
All the amenities we could possibly need were thoughtfully provided. The resort is also conveniently located near one of the ancient towns, and food delivery is available if you’re in the mood to explore other dining options.
Overall, we had a very pleasant and restful stay. I highly recommend this resort for families or anyone looking to unwind and escape the hustle and bustle of city life.

LLowJia JinOnce in a while, we have the rare privilege of staying somewhere that exemplifies all that is good about travel. Nguluko is one such place.
As the photos suggest, the hotel is beautifully designed. It’s a zen-like, modern annex, connected to Liusan’s generational home. What a curious privilege it is, to be able to join her family around the home’s traditional Naxi courtyard for a bonfire dance, before retreating upstairs to a room of luxurious comforts, including an actual Dyson hairdryer and electronic toilet.
But more important is what the photos cannot capture. In an age of faceless travel, dominated by flavourless hotel chains and mass-produced group tours, it’s rare to be able to feel a connection with folks eager to share a little slice of their life with you. Whether it be a morning stroll around the old village, a sharing session on Naxi culture and Dongba script, or even the aforementioned bonfire dance (replete with lived-in details like the family’s aging hams dangling off the awnings), it harkens back to a more serendipitous style of travel that made me smile.
Even meals (all-inclusive!) are a chance to experience local culture. Locally foraged bracken and morels make an appearance, as do different varieties of liangfen, and Lijiang-style baba. There’s also the most moreish chicken hotpot — which I was going to drive out of the way to Luguzhen to try — but which she ended up serving for dinner on the second night. I’m quite obsessive when it comes to food, and yet everything I wanted to try here, except perhaps the rainbow trout and yak, were cooked up and served.
Some small things could be improved: many stairways lack railings for the mobility impaired, and the ‘October’ room has an odd bathroom design where the toilet cubicle barely has space to close when one is seated. But such issues pale in comparison to the overall experience. Perhaps the biggest compliment I can give it is that in a world filled with a million wonderful destinations, this is one place I would choose to return to.

The service was exceptionally thoughtful; from the moment we checked in until we left, the staff were incredibly warm and attentive, looking after our needs as if we were their own family. The location was absolutely incredible; we could see Jade Dragon Snow Mountain directly from our room, and the view was absolutely stunning. The balcony was particularly spacious, and gathering there as a family to chat and admire the mountain views was truly the most idyllic part of our journey.
The guesthouse itself felt like a collection of popular 'Instagrammable' spots; every photo we took looked like it belonged in a magazine. This meant we didn't have to join the crowds and queues at other attractions just for a good picture, saving us a lot of precious time. The travel photography service offered by the guesthouse was a particular highlight. The photographer had an amazing knack for capturing candid moments, making our family's interactions and smiles incredibly vibrant and infectious. Each photo is now a cherished memory.
The biggest surprise was the restaurant's cuisine; every dish was delightful. We particularly recommend the preserved pork rib hotpot – the meat was incredibly tender and the broth rich and flavorful. Our entire family left feeling completely satisfied.
We will definitely choose to stay here again on our next trip to Yunnan!

Getting back to it, I came to Lijiang to unwind. Before arriving, I spent a long time choosing where to stay, searching for places with breathtaking views like the 'Golden Mountain at Sunrise.' After sifting through countless options and weighing various reviews, I, with a mix of anticipation and a touch of fate, chose Mujianshan.
Once I arrived, I immediately felt great about my choice. It's not too far from Baisha Ancient Town; a leisurely walk takes just over ten minutes. And since my main destination was Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, a taxi ride there was under thirty minutes, even faster without traffic.
The staff here, especially the ladies, are incredibly kind and attentive. They really go above and beyond, even anticipating your emotional needs – truly thoughtful and meticulous. The ambiance here is wonderful – very quiet and perfect for relaxation. They offer coffee, tea, and even wine.
Even though it's been mostly cloudy these past two days, my overall experience has been fantastic. I definitely want to come back again, and when I do, I'll absolutely choose Mujianshan again. Next time, I'd love to just spend a whole day relaxing quietly at the guesthouse.

The hotel's service is really impeccable. From the moment I stepped into the hotel, the staff greeted me with a sincere smile, and also formed a 5-person service group to plan your itinerary and recommend surrounding attractions. I checked in in the afternoon and prepared a sumptuous afternoon tea. The breakfast on the second day was also rich. It is worth mentioning that the breakfast can be served until 12 o'clock, which is really suitable for people like me who love to sleep in.
Facilities:
Walking into the guest room, wooden furniture, tables and chairs, with soft beds and night lights, and wireless charging integrated with the night lights, it can really solve the urgent problem if you forget to bring a charger. The weather in Yunnan is relatively dry, and a humidifier is placed at the head of the bed. It automatically cuts off the power when there is no water, which is safe and considerate. The bathroom has complete toiletries, and it is a Dyson hair dryer. The boss really spent a lot of money. Wet toilet paper is also provided next to the toilet.
Environment:
The hotel is close to the mountains and rivers, close to nature, and most of them use floor-to-ceiling glass, which has good lighting. Every shot is a beautiful scene. It is worth mentioning that the hotel not only has a restaurant and a tea room, but also a study room with a large collection of Nobel Prizes in Literature. There is also a yoga room upstairs and a conference room that can accommodate 30 people. It is very suitable for both personal travel and company team building.
Hygiene:
The bedding is clean and tidy, the disposable supplies in the bathroom are complete, and even the bath towels are individually packaged.

Location: It's a bit far from the Old Town, but there's no traffic during holidays, and it's quite close to Lijiang Station.
Facilities: The public areas offer ample space for activities. There's even a self-service tea room on the rooftop, which is very quiet. Laundry and drying services are also available. However, the showerhead in the room couldn't be fixed in place, making it inconvenient to rinse off. We booked the Mansong room, which was very spacious and comfortable.
Service: All the staff were polite and enthusiastic. There's free tea tasting on the first floor with no pushy sales. They even gave us two oxygen tanks when we went hiking. The breakfast also included delicious Crossing the Bridge Noodles – really good!
An unexpected event: The power suddenly went out around 11 PM 😆😆😆

We couldn’t find any DiDi or taxi on our own, so we asked for help at the reception - and they instantly arranged transport for us, even though we had just 30 minutes left before departure. Thanks to them, we made it right on time with our toddler.
The hotel is in an amazing location, with great service and very helpful staff. As a non-Chinese-speaking guest, communication was sometimes difficult for me, but they were always patient and made the effort to understand my queries and provide the best possible solutions.

Every casual photo looked like a cinematic screenshot.
The ”Golden Mountain at Sunrise” (日照金山) viewed from the rooftop was an absolutely unforgettable, breathtaking spectacle. Watching the snow-capped peaks slowly transform from steely grey to shimmering gold, with the first rays of light touching my face, it felt as if even the wind held its breath. This sheer, majestic grandeur is a moment no filter could ever hope to capture.
The evening bonfire party truly embodied the most vibrant and authentic local atmosphere. As dusk settled, the bonfire by the entrance sprang to life. Naxi aunties led everyone in traditional 'datiao' dances, the firewood crackled merrily, and songs mixed with laughter echoed up the hillside. We drank local rice wine and joined the circle, feeling the day's serene tranquility transition seamlessly into the lively energy of the night.
From the 'Golden Mountain' at dawn to the late-night bonfire, from the stunning mountain views from our room to the fresh scent of flora and fauna with every breath, this place perfectly blends the refined elegance of 'French-inspired rustic luxury' with the genuine, untouched spirit of Lijiang's wilderness. It creates a compelling reason to want to return and stay here again and again. Next time I visit Lijiang, I'll definitely be staying here again!

While the facilities are adequate, the layout lacks privacy. For instance, to use the cabin's toilet, all curtains on the first level must be closed. Additionally, the toilet bowl is situated behind stairs without any curtains, potentially allowing others in the cabin to see. Moreover, the second-level flooring consists of planks with numerous gaps, providing visibility to the first level, including the bathtub and toilet bowl.
I strongly advise against booking this accommodation for families with children due to the safety risk posed by the sliding doors on the second level, which lack safety measures. While they offer a unique view of the mountain, the danger of potential falls is significant. If you do choose to consider it as a family cabin, I recommend checking with the staff to lock the doors from the outside for added safety.
Despite the unexpected aspects mentioned above, our overall stay was still decent. The staff were hospitable and helpful throughout our visit. Communication was convenient via WeChat for check-in details, recommendations, and self-checkout. It seems that the camping style of accommodation was a selling point, it’s definitely a unique stay. I’m sure there’s a specific crowd that would fully enjoy the experience.
