We love the big clean spacious room with nice view. The room is so big that we can fully open 2 big luggages and still have plenty of space. Located in the heart of the old city, with many shops and restaurants around. The bed is very comfortable, and they provided oxygen machine and humidifier, which are great for high-altitude stay. There is a sofa in the room, too. The operator is very friendly and helpful. He even woke up early to send us to the main road as it will be challenging to lug our luggages along the uneven ancient road. Will stay at this hotel again if we come back to Shangri-La. I stayed at the boss's house for two consecutive days. I was very satisfied with the room, which was very clean and beautiful. The boss was also very nice. The hotel is located near the ancient city and it is very convenient to walk to the ancient city.

We love the service! The people very kind and polite. Our room were even upgraded during the first night but unfortunately we have to move into other room due to new visitor. Regardless, we dont mind at all, the room that we got was still clean and completed. Except there was no toilet rug and too lazy to ask but its okay. The fact there was places to hangout are the best but we couldnt explore that much. The welcome snacks were much appreciated, we finished most of it. The ginger tea was great. Thank you for the many times requests for ginger tea as one of us got fever. Felt safe and welcome. And washing machine is a no problem especially for backpackers, can easily self-washing. No dryer though. Its fine. The location is a bit high up the hills so to those who’s first time in a very high altitude place, might need the portable oxygen tank or go up slowly to the inn. The oxygen tank in the room was provided! We even got free keychain by the end of our stay at Xianggelila, thought of buying it, instead got it for free. The drive from and to the Xianggelila railway station was so much appreciated, because calling for didi is kinda tiring, like everytime. But because of the inn providing us the drive, it is much convenient. And its very funny how the driver sped up to railway station because we were late for the train. Thank you so much, its a funny experience and the driver has a nice choice of remix song hahah, love the service. The guy who gave the keychain was also warmhearted. Xianggelila was splendid because of you guys thank you!!

Highly recommended this homestay. The room is tastefully designed , spacious and comfortable. It even has a smart toilet. Felt like home away from home. The owner, wife and their son are all very helpful, helping us arrange our trip, transportation etc. They will make sure that you got a good deal and give good advice on planning our trip. It is also at a very convenient location to visit other attraction areas, shops and restaurants. We extended another day after a five night stay because we love the place too much and we wanted to have a relaxing day just to fully enjoy the place. The owner upgraded us to an even bigger room with a view to the temple at Guishan park. The owner also picked us up from the Dukezong Ancient town when we arrived and got up early to send us to the train station when we checked out. We only stayed at this hotel briefly as our train back to Kunming was scheduled early in the morning at 10am, but the experience was truly pleasant. The service was excellent — the staff picked us up and even sent us to the railway station the next day, helping with our bags every step of the way. Upon arrival, they gave us a helpful briefing on what to do and what to avoid due to the higher altitude, which was thoughtful and informative. They also kindly recommended places to visit at night and shared several halal restaurant options when we asked — very helpful for Muslim travelers. Our room was located near the ancient road, but it was surprisingly quiet and peaceful. We also noticed that this hotel seems to be quite popular with Malaysian guests, which made it feel even more familiar and welcoming. Overall, we were very happy with our stay and appreciate the warm hospitality, even if it was just for a short time.

Hotel is a bit away from the ancient town and basically anything. However, and it’s a big however, you are getting the view and experience of a lifetime. The mountains, the pets, the experiences the accommodation offers is unmatched. The service and the accommodation itself is exceptional. Everyone was welcoming and smiling and always trying to accommodate us. The rooms: beds were comfortable, toilet is the automated ones love love love!, projector experience, the view, I cannot fault this place and I would come back again if I’m at shangri la. My kids loved the pets experience!

The best choice! The best hotel ever! The hospitality and amazing staff! They pick and fetch us from railway station, both way for complimentary. The staff is very helpful, easy to communicate, very attentive and helpful, they help in given direction and also to suggest itinerary program. We come with group of 6 women, they help to upgrade us to the family room, which is the best and comfortable room. after arrived, we were served for mini hi tea in the garden, although it stated 2 pax, but we were given 6 cup of each of us, I definitely will visit and stay here again, the oxygen also helps a lot. Even they breakfast is lovely although simple, which is sufficient and halal friendly for us. Tq again and totally will recommended to everyone.

I found this hotel by surfing on Ctrip. It says on the door that it is the best-rated hotel in Shangri-La. It is true. I spent three very happy and blissful days here. The address of the homestay is near the ancient city, close to Songzanlin Temple, the bus station, the high-speed rail station and various scenic spots. It is very convenient to travel. The boss picked me up after I got off the high-speed rail on the first day. I didn't have to think about it at all. The hotel is very new and warmly decorated. There are two cute cats. You can make a movie here. The toiletries are all disposable. My friend commented: ”It is better than buying them locally.” Then there are washing machines, microwave ovens, refrigerators, travel equipment and various snacks. You can also rent a car directly. It is a one-stop experience, which makes people feel very at ease. After a day of running during the day, the boss will send desserts and milk when I go back at night. You can also sit in the corridor to chat with cats. At night, the floor heating is turned on and I fall asleep as soon as I touch the bed. Ps: The boss is like an encyclopedia. He knows everything from where to have fun to local customs and cultural characteristics. Just ask! There is a parking space at the door, which is quite convenient for self-driving players. The boss is really nice, very humane and sincere. The room is big, with dry and wet areas separated. Although it is a homestay, it feels completely integrated into the local relaxation. We only live on the second floor, but we don't have to carry our luggage by ourselves, hahahahaha. Next time I come to Shangri-La, I will definitely stay here again!!!

Absolutely loved our stay here! The service was top-notch — we got free pickup and drop-off at the railway station, and even free rides into town whenever we needed. Complimentary drinks were provided for both of us, which was such a nice touch. The place was super clean — honestly, spotless! And the location couldn’t be better. It's right near Heido Cafe, and hotel guests even get free drinks there too. Total bonus! We were also surrounded by the cutest, friendliest animals — it really added to the peaceful vibe. Plus, there were so many amazing photo spots; every corner was Insta-worthy! One big plus: the staff can speak English really well, so communication was smooth and easy the whole time. Overall, highly, highly recommended! You should definitely stay for at least 3 days and 2 nights — one night just isn’t enough to take in the view and soak up the serenity. So, so satisfying!

The place was a few hundred meters from the old town. The 民宿 owners were extremely hospitable and friendly. First they came to pick us up from the station, upon arrival, as our room was on the 3rd floor, they carried our luggage all the way up for us. The room was spacious, clean and all amenities provided for. The room came with oxygen supply, heated floor and sky roof where we could glance out to see the stars. They advised us on all the do and don't when in high altitude places. When we came back freezing cold at night, they even brought up hot milk to help warm us up. Overall, we had a very good stay here. We would stay here again if we ever come back to Shangri-la.
