"Highly recommended this homestay. The room is tastefully designed , spacious and comfortable. It even has a smart toilet. Felt like home away from home. The owner, wife and their son are all very helpful, helping us arrange our trip, transportation etc. They will make sure that you got a good deal and give good advice on planning our trip. It is also at a very convenient location to visit other attraction areas, shops and restaurants. We extended another day after a five night stay because we love the place too much and we wanted to have a relaxing day just to fully enjoy the place. The owner upgraded us to an even bigger room with a view to the temple at Guishan park. The owner also picked us up from the Dukezong Ancient town when we arrived and got up early to send us to the train station when we checked out. "We love the big clean spacious room with nice view. The room is so big that we can fully open 2 big luggages and still have plenty of space. Located in the heart of the old city, with many shops and restaurants around. The bed is very comfortable, and they provided oxygen machine and humidifier, which are great for high-altitude stay. There is a sofa in the room, too. The operator is very friendly and helpful. He even woke up early to send us to the main road as it will be challenging to lug our luggages along the uneven ancient road. Will stay at this hotel again if we come back to Shangri-La. "Fave room of this trip - from the stunning design and smart layout to the dreamy rose petal tub and thoughtful extras like makeup remover sheets and a huge projector perfect for movie nights. But what truly made the stay unforgettable was the service. Special shoutout to the two incredible lady staff who went above and beyond, even with a language barrier (thank you WeChat!). They arranged ginger & brown sugar tea to soothe us before bed, and despite our early train to Kunming at 10am, they managed to prepare a beautiful vegetarian breakfast spread by 8:15am (even though breakfast usually starts at 8:30am). They even booked us a free ride to the station, seeing we were rushing. Thoughtful, warm, and top notch hospitality. Easy five-stars. Highly recommended!"

"The room is very cozy and has lots of amenities, such as an oxygen generator, a Japanese-style table with tea, a humidifier, and a toilet with many functions in true Japanese style. In addition, the staff are very friendly and enthusiastic. The hotel is located in the middle of the old town, which is really convenient! Highly recommended!"

"The best choice! The best hotel ever! The hospitality and amazing staff! They pick and fetch us from railway station, both way for complimentary. The staff is very helpful, easy to communicate, very attentive and helpful, they help in given direction and also to suggest itinerary program. We come with group of 6 women, they help to upgrade us to the family room, which is the best and comfortable room. after arrived, we were served for mini hi tea in the garden, although it stated 2 pax, but we were given 6 cup of each of us, I definitely will visit and stay here again, the oxygen also helps a lot. Even they breakfast is lovely although simple, which is sufficient and halal friendly for us. Tq again and totally will recommended to everyone."

Upon arriving at the train station, I couldn’t get a taxi, so I sent a quick message to the hotel via WeChat. To my surprise and relief, the staff immediately offered to come pick me up. It was a short ride, but during the drive, they shared interesting insights about the area, setting the tone for what would be a warm and personal stay. The hotel itself felt cozy and welcoming, with two dogs and a cat adding to the homely charm. They had my room ready early, so I could check in and rest right away. The room was spacious, fully equipped, and thoughtfully prepared for the cold weather—it had a large dehumidifier and central floor heating, which made it incredibly comfortable during the chilly days. The hotel is conveniently located near the Shika Snow Mountain, and from the property, I could catch glimpses of the snowy peaks, open grasslands, farms, and plantations. It was a peaceful and scenic spot—an ideal base for exploring the area. What stood out most was the attentiveness of the staff. They were always just a message away, responding promptly to every request. As a first-time visitor to Shangri-La, I appreciated the wealth of local recommendations they provided—from attractions to hidden spots worth visiting. One night, after a long day out, I asked for a simple meal in the room, and they delivered hot fried rice from the kitchen right on time. On my final morning, I had an early departure, and despite the hour, the staff woke up and personally drove me to the train station at 6:30 a.m. Their warmth and dedication left a lasting impression. The hotel also offers traditional ******* clothing that guests can try on for photos—complete with the option to pose with a goat! Although it was too cold during my stay to enjoy the outdoor swing or take many photos outside, the setting was undeniably beautiful. As we drove away on my last day, the view of flat grasslands with horses and cows grazing under the open sky was the perfect farewell. It was a calm, heartwarming experience—one I’ll remember fondly."

"We only stayed at this hotel briefly as our train back to Kunming was scheduled early in the morning at 10am, but the experience was truly pleasant. The service was excellent — the staff picked us up and even sent us to the railway station the next day, helping with our bags every step of the way. Upon arrival, they gave us a helpful briefing on what to do and what to avoid due to the higher altitude, which was thoughtful and informative. They also kindly recommended places to visit at night and shared several halal restaurant options when we asked — very helpful for Muslim travelers. Our room was located near the ancient road, but it was surprisingly quiet and peaceful. We also noticed that this hotel seems to be quite popular with Malaysian guests, which made it feel even more familiar and welcoming. Overall, we were very happy with our stay and appreciate the warm hospitality, even if it was just for a short time."

"The hotel room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The large floor-to-ceiling windows, with the curtains open, offered stunning views of the hotel estate. Outside, there were adorable lambs, pristine white yaks, horses, and geese. Guests staying at the hotel were free to feed the lambs and take photos with the animals. 📸 The hotel also provided complimentary traditional ethnic clothing and headdresses. The staff even braided my and my baby's hair beautifully, which looked great in any photo. The hotel also thoughtfully offered free afternoon tea on the fifth floor. My baby loved hot milk, and sitting in the cafe on the fifth floor, enjoying tea while admiring the beautiful view, was truly relaxing and enjoyable. The hotel also offered free pick-up and drop-off service, which was a relief for me as a solo traveler with a baby."
