"Our stay at The Fern Surya Resort, Series by Marriott, was a mixed experience with both notable strengths and areas that require attention. The property enjoys a beautiful location amidst the hills and offers some very pleasant outdoor spaces. We particularly liked the smaller landscaped lawn with covered seating arrangements, which is perfect for enjoying lunch, snacks, or quality family time. The larger lawn offers lovely mountain and valley views, making it an excellent spot for evening tea, relaxation, and outdoor activities. The open dining area surrounded by lush flora and fauna further enhances the overall ambiance. The resort also features a covered swimming pool suitable for both adults and children. However, the changing and shower facilities near the pool need significant improvement. The amenities and maintenance standards in these areas do not reflect what one would typically expect from a Marriott-affiliated property. One of the major concerns was the accommodation itself. Some of the base-category rooms felt extremely compact, with very limited space for movement, especially in the washroom area. The room size and layout were disappointing and did not align with the expectations associated with a premium resort experience. Additionally, the air-conditioning unit remained noticeably noisy throughout our stay, while frequent power fluctuations further impacted comfort. The breakfast buffet was another area where expectations were not met. The spread was relatively limited, and despite a specific request, the chef declined to prepare anything beyond the existing menu options, which was disappointing. On the positive side, the bar and lounge area is a good recreational space featuring pool, foosball, and other indoor games. However, the lighting throughout the lounge was unusually dim and could be improved to create a more inviting atmosphere. Cleanliness also requires greater attention. The public washrooms near the restaurant had an unpleasant odor, suggesting that housekeeping and maintenance standards need to be strengthened in common areas. What truly stood out during our stay was the hospitality of the staff. The team was consistently courteous, helpful, and responsive to most of our requests, which helped offset some of the property's shortcomings. Overall, the resort benefits from beautiful outdoor spaces, scenic views, and a dedicated staff. However, room sizes, maintenance, cleanliness, power reliability, dining options, and certain facilities require improvement for the property to fully justify its association with the Marriott brand."

"The first thing that comes to mind , when you turn to an unpaved hilly road towards the resort is - it better be good/ worth the effort . And as you reach , the warm hospitality & excellent lip smacking food takes away all ur apprehensions. The food is better than almost all the hotels I've ever eaten at. ( and believe me I've done my fair share of traveling ) I recently had a pleasure of being hosted by a MasterChef & partaked a mutton dish, the same dish was prepared by chef Puneet & he surpassed the master chef by miles. And the best part , the quality & taste of food was consistent across the dishes & for all 3 days that I was there.. Reaffirming the fact that it was no fluke & the chef is genuinely talented . Frankly this level of food quality & taste was not expected & if the management is able to retain a great chef like this , soon people like me wud be traveling to the resort for sheer gastronomic pleasure . Though the resort was packed because of Holi festival , the serving staff was perpetually on their toes & took great care of us. Special thanks to Mr Tarun , Mr Attri , Mr Pramod , Mr Sanchit , Mr Rahul & all others who relentlessly worked & gave us great service with a smile. All the best guys - keep up the good show ."
