"This hotel is hilariously bad… In a nutshell, great facilities but terrible service. 1. I asked the hotel to wash a pair of pants. I double-checked with the front desk, and they confirmed it would be delivered to my room before 6 PM. When I got back at 6:30 PM, it wasn't there. At 7:30 PM, I went downstairs only to find the pants at the front desk… no one ever brought them up. 2. When I returned to my room at 6:30 PM, I noticed that while the room was tidied, the toilet paper hadn't been replenished. Thinking I needed other amenities, I scanned the QR code on my phone to request them. The QR code actually worked today (unlike yesterday), but an hour after I made the request, nothing was delivered. Remembering the ridiculous experience on the phone yesterday, I went downstairs to the front desk to get them. Even then, it took another 15 minutes for them to be brought up. 3. The boiled eggs at breakfast weren't even cooked through – the egg whites were still runny… This really confirms it's a hotel with no service. The only positives: great location and newly renovated."

"The facade was under renovation. The room was spacious and the front desk service was nice. We had a small hiccup that Ctrip handled efficiently and properly. BTW: Breakfast was just okay (compared to other hotels I've stayed at across the UK over the past two weeks)."

"My stay at the Rutland Hotel was really pleasant. The staff were friendly and kind; the lady at the check-in desk was particularly lovely, and I was lucky enough to get the last available parking space! I thought the room was perfect for a solo traveler, providing me with a comfortable base after a day of exploring the city before attending a show the following day. Everywhere was clean and tidy. I made use of the facilities, enjoying a relaxing shower and winding down in my pyjamas with an episode of Midsomer Murders (each room has a tv and wifi). I ordered room service and the curry was tasty. The only downside was that the room was really hot throughout the night. Even with the provided fan running and the window and curtains left open, it remained uncomfortably warm. Aside from that, it was an enjoyable stay. I would stay here again, but hopefully not in a room so hot!! To the staff - thank you for being so lovely :)"

"Room as expected, comfy bed, air con works, bathroom good and do like the products you supply. Had issues with breakfast timing though. Says 10:30, but when I went down at 10:10 everything was being packed away and apparently I should have somehow magically known that a shut door to the restaurant meant check in with the staff! Could have done without the snippiness first thing to be honest. In fairness, I did in fact get breakfast!"

"On arrival was surprised to see various vans, old cars and overflowing skip. Room was very basic but clean. Bathroom window was open but still didn’t hide an awful smell. Also a loose sink tap which manager claimed he wasn’t aware of. No breakfast or food available. Pictures on website nothing like reality"

"We only visited the bar and did not stay overnight but I can honestly say we’ve never had such a welcome as we did there. There was a gang of us from North Wales staying local for my brothers 60th and decided to go out for the afternoon Aug bank holiday Sunday and boy were we glad we did. Seriously all the staff and locals could not go enough to welcome us and to ensure we had a great time. I. Met some lovely characters outside and learnt more about the local area. Ellie was amazing and allowed me access to the disabled toilet as I was struggling with a limb complaint. The pub was so busy as live music was on during the afternoon but we never waited long at the bar as they were so efficient. The beers was a fab pint and they even arranged taxis back for us all. It was lovely to have a brief chat with Jackie who again couldn’t have made us feel more welcome if she tried. Great afternoon of beer, laughter, chatter, horse racing, music……. What more could we have all asked for!!! Thank you all so much and fingers crossed we will be back to see you one day!!! 🤞"
