Shangri-La Hotels in Shanghai

As expected of Shangri La, the service was great and top tier. Told them we were celebrating a birthday and they gave us a room facing the river and even helped to decorate the room?! Super good service and location (near Lujiazui and walkable to Oriental Pearl Tower). Near the Shanghai Tower as well. Friendly staff and clean place. Highly recommend. The room was excellent! Despite being renovated 13 years ago, the facilities are impeccably maintained. Closing the sliding wooden door to the bedroom made it feel incredibly cozy and comfortable. Opening the curtains revealed the Shanghai Bund skyline right from the bed. Traveling with my parents this time, we appreciated that an extra bed could be added in the living room. While it was a bit basic, it was perfectly fine for sleeping. Breakfast on the 55th floor was excellent, and the views were stunning! The hot dishes were better than those offered on the first floor. The fruit and ice cream rotating display in the first-floor restaurant was quite interesting. Overall, it's definitely worth experiencing!

I'm quite fond of the Shangri-La Qiantan. I've stayed here many times since its opening, so I decided to write a proper review this time. The hotel boasts a bright and spacious design, and the room layouts are practical and well-proportioned. This time, I noticed a package on Ctrip that included dinner, so I booked it for a relaxing getaway. My room was already prepared upon check-in, and even though I arrived a bit early, I was able to get into my room right away. The buffet breakfast was incredibly generous with a wide array of choices, including many delicious Shanghainese breakfast specialties like fried sticky rice cakes, sticky rice rolls, pan-fried buns, and savory crepes. However, I was a bit disappointed to find that xiaolongbao were no longer available this time. I especially want to commend the hotel's highly professional service. The restaurant staff, in particular, were very proactive in anticipating and addressing guests' needs, frequently checking if we were satisfied with our meals. The dinner set menu came as an individual bento box, beautifully presented. We were told these were all signature dishes. The braised pork, shrimp, and mini wontons were all quite tasty. However, the stir-fried rice cakes quickly turned hard as they cooled, so I'd suggest replacing that particular dish.

The hotel is newly opened, and the environment and sanitation are in place. The staff of the concierge and Horizon Club are warm and professional. Although there was an episode in the evening, Claire, the night duty manager, was very active in following up and properly solving 👍. Overall, the hardware and software are excellent, walking distance to the airport and high-speed rail station, recommended.
