The hotel is looking old model from the outside but still great inside. The foods are great and the kids loves the swimming pool. We will recommend to our friends and will definitely come back.

## Amazing Stay at Sofitel Shanghai My stay at Sofitel Shanghai was fantastic, and Ellie, my ‘butler’, made it even better. She was always quick to help, whether it was fixing a small room issue or giving recommendations for dinner. Her kindness and efficiency stood out. The hotel itself is beautiful, with spacious rooms, a great gym, and a relaxing pool. The breakfast was a highlight—so many options, from fresh pastries to local dishes. Every staff member was friendly and welcoming, always ready with a smile. I’d definitely stay here again—thanks to Ellie and the team for such a great experience!

We recently stayed at the Sofitel Shanghai Hongqiao for the Chinese New Year holiday, and overall, it was a delightful experience. Booking through Trip.com was seamless, and their chatbot was very helpful for any questions we had. The hotel room was impressively spacious, clean, and filled with natural light from the large window, which made our stay even more enjoyable. We did try the pool, but unfortunately, the kids' pool was closed, which was a bit inconvenient since we were traveling with children. The dining options offered a nice variety of Chinese and Western cuisine, although I noticed that the majority leaned towards Chinese dishes. One of the highlights of our stay was the smooth check-in process. We arrived at the hotel around 11 AM and were pleased that they were able to accommodate our request for early check-in. A special mention goes to Max, who was exceptionally accommodating and made us feel welcome. Overall, we had a wonderful stay, but we do hope that the kids' pool will be open during our next visit. Thank you for a lovely experience!

The first time to stay with Sofitel Shanghai Hongqiao. Love the hotel everything like all brand new, especial thanks to Molly from reception with great and warm service.

All around stunning 5 star hotel with excellent hospitality. A lovely festive mood was set with a large Christmas tree and decorations. We were even given a free upgrade when we checked in on Christmas Eve. The only issue we had was with the buffet breakfast. It could be so much better. They're doing just enough to get by and we didn't think the quality of the food was at a high enough standard for a place of this caliber. Also, the rap music in the elevator should be changed. Some kind of Sofitel promo video that is/was entirely inappropriate for the holiday season. That being said, we plan to return and would without hesitation recommend staying here.

I stayed one night at the Sofitel Hotel and I really enjoyed it. It's a very cool hotel and they have very cool service. The coolest employee is Kyrie, whom I want to mention in particular. I am very satisfied and will definitely return to this hotel when I come to Shanghai.

Great service however the rooms are badly in need of renovation and there was smell of cigarettes in the room.

This hotel is very well appointed and grand. Room is also spacious, with good amount of amenities. The location is a little remote as there are no shopping malls or other major eateries nearby. Overall a pleasant stay if you want to be near Hongqiao airport or train station

My recent stay at the Sofitel Hongqiao Shanghai fell short of expectations for a five-star hotel. While the property has potential, several aspects significantly impacted the experience. Dining - The breakfast and lunch buffets were very underwhelming, with limited options—particularly for those expecting a Western or French cuisine as advertised. The offerings leaned heavily toward Chinese cuisine, including dishes like mainly crayfish, which may not appeal to all international guests. Service - Unfortunately service did not meet the standards of a luxury hotel. Almost all staff besides managers don’t speak any English so communication is very difficult. Staff generally across departments like reception, concierge, security, fitness centre and restaurants all seemed disengaged, unmotivated and lethargic. While the management did apologise and offer a discount and concession on our second night after we raised concerns with our room and service, the overall atmosphere lacked the warmth and attentiveness expected at this level. Overall - Having stayed at other five-star hotels, including the Intercontinental which is nearby, the difference in service, quality and attention to detail is huge. The Sofitel Hongqiao has the foundation to be a great hotel, but improvements in management, staff training, and guest experience are needed to truly justify its “five-star” rating, currently it’s probably four stars in my opinion. I hope the hotel takes this feedback constructively, as with the right adjustments, it could deliver the premium experience guests expect.

Got a complimentary upgrade to premier suite. Very spacious room with a working area in suit. Very nice and comfortable for both stay and work.
