Cramped, Misleading, and Unpleasant – Avoid This Place We booked this place expecting 30 m² as advertised, but the actual space was closer to 15 m² and felt extremely cramped. We planned to stay for 8 nights at around €50 per night, but ended up leaving after just one night due to how uncomfortable and misleading the listing was. To make matters worse, the moment we canceled, the price was suddenly became €80 per night, and we were charged a €40 cancellation fee, even though we could cancel the entire booking flexible. After contacting Ctrip and going through quite a bit of hassle, we managed to exit the booking—but still had to pay €80 for that one disappointing night. We would never have booked this place for €80 per night had we known what it was actually like. The room wasn't particularly up to the clean standard, and to top it off, our backpacks got completely soaked because we had to place them on the only available floor space—unfortunately right next to an air purifier that was leaking water. Overall, a very unpleasant experience. Cramped, misrepresented, and poor value. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

The actual location of the unit is not as stated. They have several units around the area. The one I got is about 8min walk to Shaanxinan metro station, which is also a metro-interchange lines 1, 10 and 12. Several malls and eateries are within walking distance. Locating the unit was not straight forward for foreigners as it is situated within their local residential area. This gave us a peek into the life of the locals which is a nice and rich experience. The unit itself is pretty well kept. It's equipped with TV, kettle, rice cooker, stove, pots and pans, laundry and dryer, heater. It's a loft unit with a king-sized mattress at the loft accompanied with a simple tatami tea-table. The ground level equipped with a sofa and a queen-sized bed. The toilet is the most challenging part for this unit. As the olden-style doors opened, you will be greeted by a small wash basin, just enough to do the morning wash-up. Moving inwards, it's a shower area with a very very simple shower curtain. Moving further in, will be the WC throne. The throne will be wet when shower. We are a family of 3 with a teenage boy. Generally we are happy with our 4 night stay there. The price is reasonable. All communications with the host was via Wechat. They responded to any enquiries very promptly and were very helpful. We were allowed to extend our check-out timing too.

Great location, fine price. But it needs attention. This place is offered by several companies, and you notice it as soon as you enter. It's quite worn down and needs a revamp, proper clean etc. Dusty, not vacuumed well (or not at all). Christmas tree is still there in May, dead plants. Toilets were still wet when we arrived. Dirty bath mats lying in the bathrooms. Kitchen utensils were wet too. Glass walls and mirrors with stains. Service company tried its best to compensate and cleaning lady came by the same afternoon to do another sweep, which was helpful but still not made it for the full 100%. That’s the first impression. Then the master bed is old and too hard in comparison to new bed in other room. Blankets are too small for the size of the bed. But most importantly the plumbing needs work. The toilet next to master bedroom makes an awful noise couple of times per night (old or bad plumbing). Basically slept not so well 2 out of 3 nights. Down the line. Probably value for money in Shanghai especially considering its location, but likely not staying again.

A small apartment with good location. Too bad the cleanliness of this room need to be improved. There was still dust on the floor and also the fridge smelled funny. There’s kitchen in the apartment, but there was not even kitchen utensils. No plates, nor fork, spoon, chopsticks. There was just 2 pots on the stove. So I guess that’s just for decoration. Also, there needs something to be done with the router (?) blinking light. It was too bright at night when the lights are off.

Good location but the entrance is a bit creepy. Worth the price tho. The cleanliness of toilet should be improved.

I feel that the photos I took are better than those of the B&B, so I suggest that the boss use mine. The check-in experience was better than expected, the house is quite big, and it is no problem for 5 people. Changle Road is very convenient, and it is very close to the First Maternity and Infant Hospital.

The room is located at the intersection of Changle Road and Fumin Road, with convenient transportation, superior location, warm family style, complete living facilities such as washing machine and kitchen, and a strong cultural atmosphere of the surrounding alleys. The alleys outside the room are full of old Shanghai style, which is a great choice to experience local life.

The room is in a dilapidated house, but women must be careful when traveling! The corridor is dark, and it takes courage to find this room in the dark at night. Both windows are closed. It is even more terrible if they are not closed, in case someone standing outside the window can see everything in the room. Because there are no windows, the room has a certain smell. It can only be said that it is a makeshift place. It was a very bad experience for the first time to choose a homestay. The things in the room are quilts and toilets, and I don’t want to move other things. You get what you pay for. If you accept this affordable price, you have to accept the average environment. The sound insulation effect is so good that you can hear the cough next door clearly.

A bit far from the subway station, Anfu Road is a bit crowded, it's more comfortable in the morning when there's no one around, the room is opposite the office, but there's little interaction with the residents, the water heater is a bit hot and cold, the old house looks good from a distance, but not up close, the room interior is basically average

I give a pass to the sanitation. The air conditioner vent is moldy, but everything else is ok. There is a subway passing by on the first floor (101). The location is very good.
