Central Hostel Oia Reviews

The AC was very noisy, making it hard to sleep, and the remote control was unreachable. There isn't much privacy because the doors are open and anyone can come and go. The kitchen doesn't have a designated register, like a sorter or shelves with your number for leaving food. I bought coffee sachets and water, and the next day the bottle in the fridge was open, leaving only one sachet of coffee left. There are no towels, so you have to rent them. There's no reception; everything is done by phone. The terrace and the lobby are very pleasant.

Location: BEST. Right on top of the restaurant. This restaurant is right in front of the Bus Terminal. All the buses start and interchange at Fira. When the bus arrives in Oia, it stops right in front of this restaurant. And the hostel is right behind the restaurant. So this hostel is in a great location, yet without the noise as it's away from the bus. Basically, 8 beds. Each has a curtain. Bed 5 is the best. Lower bunk, with privacy. Toilet is small, with no towels and toiletries. Be sure to get yours. Else, you can get it from a provision shop that is 5 minutes walk away. Most of the shower room light is not working. So u must close your eyes to shower. This hostel is near to all the good spots for photo shoots in Oia. So if I'm back in Oia, I'll still come here. You don't get to meet the owner. All communication is via Whatsapp. But they are very responsive. And i like that. There is house keeping everyday. So it's great. On my 1st night, the lady sleeping right across me was super horny and was kissing with the Portugal guy all night. Eventually, that guy jumped onto her bed. I almost wanted to ask him to exchange his bed with mine. Both of them met each other in the hostel. The Portugal guy has been staying there quite a while. The lady came only 1 night before me.

Nice place to stay. Manager was friendly, and the place is comfortable especially with the A/C. When I was there, the temperature was really high and wildfires were breaking out in neighbouring islands - so many of us stayed in the dorm in the afternoons. The price of the hostel bed is very expensive but on Santorini one don't have a choice - so in my view this is the cost effective place for solo travellers. Overall the place is nice and comfortable so I think it is a good choice. recommended and book in advance !

Although it was about twice as expensive as the hotels I usually stay at, it was the best hotel. Everything was clean and I was very happy to have a hair dryer. There was also a place to hang out the laundry, so it was great that it dried overnight. The location was excellent, right in front of the bus stop. I would choose this hotel again next time.

The price was cheap, the location was right in front of the bus stop, so it was great, the facilities were good, and the interior was white and pretty. I used the second floor, and it was cozy and comfortable. However, there were a lot of yellow stains on the blanket. I don't know if it was because it wasn't washed or if it wouldn't come off even if I washed it, but it was uncomfortable. And the door was always open, so I was afraid that anyone could come in at any time. When I first arrived, there was no separate reception to check in, and there was a notice posted telling me to call the manager, which was a new method and I was a little confused at first. The wind was so strong that the door kept opening and slamming shut, so it was very noisy. Since it's a mixed-gender and shared space, there were some inconveniences, and another guest even took my towel and used it without permission. However, overall, I used it well, had a good rest, and I recommend staying for a day or so.

I stayed for one night, but the location is great, right in front of the bus terminal. The facilities and services are perfect for a hostel, including a kitchen, refrigerator, iron, common room, terrace, bath towels, hair dryer, carbonated coffee as a welcome drink, large lockers with locks, and paper towels. The toilets and shower rooms are separate. Separate for men and women. It was very comfortable and I wanted to stay for a few nights. The owner was also very friendly, and even though I arrived early, she happily let me check in. There is a supermarket about a 1-minute walk away. It's Oia, so it can't be helped, but the only drawback was that the price was a little high. I have light luggage so it's not a problem, but I have to climb a flight of stairs to get to the entrance.

Very clean and comfortable hostel, right next to the station, very convenient to go to town or take a bus to other places, I will come here again next time!! There is also a Greek restaurant not far from the hostel, it is delicious, except that there are many people, there is nothing wrong with it!!
