Phuket Kata Resotel

We stayed at the hotel for 5 days. At first we were confused by the location of the main entrance, right behind the street market, as if on its outskirts. But once inside the hotel grounds we were pleasantly surprised. Clean and green, it is very pleasant to be on the grounds. The room (we had 106) is normal, no frills, a little confused by the mirrors with blackened spots and funny doors. It feels like these are not the doors to the room, but the doors to the closet, they move a little, they will open with a slight ****. But! The service, the friendliness of the staff, their efforts to make your stay comfortable, compensated for the minor shortcomings of the room. There was no hot water, but it was not particularly noticeable in the heat. Cleaning is top notch. On the second day of stay they changed the sheet even on the extra bed, which we did not use. The staff is smiling and helpful, they work like bees. The pool. Beautiful, clean, but very shallow. The pool bar never worked in five days, and there were almost never any people in the pool. In general, I must say, there was a feeling of some privacy, despite the fact that several dozen rooms overlook the common pool along the perimeter. As for breakfast, I will not praise or criticize, you will not go hungry, but over five days the limited gentleman's set did not change even once (scrambled eggs, sausages, ham, rice, a couple of ready-made dishes from meat, vegetables and noodles, three types of pastries, the bare minimum of vegetables, two types of fruit (watermelon/pineapple) - basically that's all). If the scrambled eggs had not been cooked in advance and were not cold, then we would have been quite happy with the breakfast. Especially since when you leave the hotel you find yourself in a "street market", a market with ready-made food for every taste. It is impossible to go to the beach without buying something. Excellent smoothies at the entrance, fried ice cream (it's not fried, but in "rolls"), delicious roti, fried shrimp in breadcrumbs... everything is so tasty and inexpensive))) Also, the hotel is conveniently located, a few steps from the street leading to the beach, 3-4 minutes and you are there (if you don't hang out at the market, of course). True, the steps leading down to the beach from this street were funny - sandbags, stacked like a ladder, in some places the bags broke, the sand poured out... in general, a funny design, and why not make normal steps, if this is almost the main entrance to the beach (at least it leads from the busiest incoming street?) There are many sun loungers, a couple with an umbrella 200 baht per day, come and go, you won't have to pay again. The guys working on the beach are great, as are all Thais, they work conscientiously, they constantly sweep the sand off the sun loungers with a broom, rearrange or tilt the umbrellas so that the shade falls on the sun loungers, they clean and rearrange things. Respect! The sea in August is rough. One day a Thai guy was running around with a whistle, making signs for everyone to come out of the deep water. We asked him why he was so persistently driving everyone to the shore, he said there were too many rips, the day before a girl drowned on this beach. So, you should be more careful. The southern part of Kata Beach is calmer. Would I recommend the hotel, definitely Yes. Would I come to this hotel a second time, also Yes. In its price category, it is definitely one of the best in terms of location, service, territory.
