I booked a “Mountain view room” at the Twelve Apostles Hotel (an expensive upgrade), and it proved how important it is to read the small print. It claims, “impressive views from your balcony”. From inside the room, it is almost impossible to see the “mountain”. The balcony is only just big enough for a small table and two chairs, and you have to take it in turns to see the “mountain” as only one chair faces in that direction. Another problem with the non-views inside the room is the permanent misting of the double glazing, where the seal between the two sheets of glass has failed. The three sets of floor-to-ceiling windows have wooden shutters that are ineffective at blocking the light from outside. With sunrise at about 05:30am, your room is flooded with light, making sleeping difficult without a blindfold. The sea-facing public rooms are smart, but my room looked dated. The staff are well meaning, but rarely get it right first time. You ask for cold milk, you get hot, you ask for Earl Grey tea, you get English Breakfast, you ask reception for the bottle of water the people servicing the room should have provided, and no-one brings it. The face flannels in the bathroom only get replaced sometimes. The tea bags and the coffee capsules in the room don’t get replaced…and someone comes to check the room has been serviced properly, and they don’t notice the errors either. It's a fabulous location with impressive sea views, but the food does not match. The sushi was soggy, the “fine dining tasting menu” – tuna tartare, mushrooms, roast chicken – with more mushrooms, venison, and dessert was neither fine nor very tasty. The Leopard Bar was the stand-out exception, and the breakfast was good, if they decide to take your order. I had to get up from the table and ask more than once. For the single traveller (I was avoiding Christmas for reasons I need not go into), the ‘do not disturb’ sign actually said “We’re still sleeping”, and the turn-down service (on request), provided two sets of slippers and dressing gowns, just to rub it in! (If you have to request it, surely they can see the room is single occupied. ”No plans on Christmas Day?!” was another insensitive question asked with incredulity. The last day was like the others. I was given a different room to shower in after my check-out time, a standard room that was much nicer than my supposedly more expensive upgraded room! When I opened the door, two room service staff were relaxing in two chairs. “Wrong room” they said. I said “The key wouldn’t open the door if it’s the wrong room!” (The room number was also written on the card holder.) They looked puzzled but left. “Phone reception when you want me to collect your bags” the helpful porter said. I called. No reply. I waited and called again “We’ll send someone straight away.” Ten minutes later, nothing. I called again, no reply. I had a plane to catch, so I went to reception. “Sorry, we only have one porter. The hotel is located right next to where you take the ”Hop on Hop off bus” which is very good. It is between ”Green Market Square” and ”Long Street”. In this square, craft stalls are set up early in the morning. I have read complaints about the noise in the morning when setting up the stalls (since they have to set up early and take down after 5 pm) but in reality it is not annoying. I had a bad experience since at 7 pm I was robbed on the street between the hotel and the church that overlooks the Plaza. They stole my mobile phone. There are many people asking you to buy them food or give them food, be very careful. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are basic. The bed is comfortable, the bathroom is somewhat narrow, not very comfortable. On the day of my check-out there was no one at the hotel reception serving me. It was 5:50 am. There was a group arriving to check-in, but there was no staff at the reception to assist them. The pool is small, it is on the roof, but the area is really very small. The gym has the basics. Breakfast is correct, fruit, eggs, cold cuts, cheeses, breads and cereals. You can sit on the terrace or inside. They also had gluten-free bread upon request.

The hotel is next to silo which is the zeitz mocca museum. The style of the entire street and most of Cape Town is more modern. The hotel is also more young from facilities to services. The lobby is often staffed by table tennis There is also a mini pool dining bar on the top of the building where you can watch the sea, you can drink and drink, and you can also look at Table Mountain. I live in a standard room that can be directly benchmarked for 7 days. The facilities are very simple but clean. It is recommended that you try to communicate with the backing side when you check in. The scenery will be slightly better. There is a 24-hour gas station supermarket about ten minutes walk from the hotel. The ATM inside can be used to withdraw money with a UnionPay card. Specific directions can ask the hotel service staff. As it is near the waterfront, it is recommended to stay for two days as a transition.

Our experience at this hotel went above and beyond our wildest expectations! The hotel's exquisite location grants you a balcony view of the ocean and the majestic Table Mountain as a backdrop. The level of service we received was truly exceptional, leaving us thoroughly impressed. The rooms were impeccably clean, and the range of amenities provided was more than generous. The rooms themselves strike a perfect balance between spaciousness and coziness, creating a truly inviting atmosphere. A noteworthy feature that sets this hotel apart is the complimentary mini bar, offering a variety of snacks and drinks – a rare find. What's even more remarkable is that these snacks are not only delicious but also cater to vegan and gluten-free preferences. Without a doubt, we are already making plans to return to this outstanding establishment in the future.

The hotel is in an excellent location. It is in the city center, at the foot of Table Mountain. It is only a few minutes away from many museums and art galleries. It has a lot of parking spaces and its own restaurant and bar. You can enjoy delicious food without leaving home. However, the room size is small and it is very difficult to get to the hotel in the evening. There is air conditioning fan noise, which is a bit regrettable.

Breakfast is good, but you need to order it yourself! Only cold food is a buffet, and hot food needs to be ordered by yourself. But it's fine. The location is near the sea point in the white living area of Cape Town. There is a supermarket within a ten-minute walk. You can stroll around the street. Surrounded by Korean, Thai and Chinese food. Room facilities are a bit old and the area is a bit small, especially the toilet and bathroom feel small, bathroom facilities are a bit poor. But very clean. Facing the sea, the distance is a bit far, but the sight is very good.

A quirky hotel in a business complex that has been designed into an old foundry. The decor and internal design are really good, but when it comes to the rooms ( that were very clean), there are issues. Ours was long and narrow. The huge TV jutted out of the wall at the end of the bed and you struggled to get past it without banging into it. Some aspects of room maintenance were lacking. The plumbing system is worth noting. Pressure is maintained by a series of (noisy) pumps. They warn you about this but the issue isn’t YOUR pumps, but those of nearby rooms. Access to the hotel is restricted after 7pm and this means you have to take a long detour round the back. Not good. On one morning we were woken by low frequency sounds from music. We think that this was from a gym class, also in the building. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast room is a public cafe, not a problem though, and the breakfasts were excellent. The WiFi is fast, near reception, but in the room we found it poor and erratic. Their idea for a quirky hotel is good, but some work needs to be done to improve standards.
