Its exclusive location amidst the mountain forests and high grounds, complemented by the rich array of famous attractions and historical sites nearby, combined with the thoughtful, butler-style service, adeptly makes up for any minor imperfections stemming from the challenges of facility upkeep. My overall stay was very satisfying. It's an excellent choice for a vacation and relaxation, and I highly recommend it. 🏕️☺️

It felt like living in a forest, which I adored. The dinner at the hotel was also very tasty. My only minor feedback is that the bathroom sink could use a more thorough cleaning – the dirt really stood out on the white surface.

The rooms are nestled right in the forest. The temperature on the mountain is indeed much cooler than down below, making the mornings and evenings particularly refreshing. Breakfast was quite varied and met our basic needs. The main downside is the lack of commercial facilities nearby. The only restaurant around was overpriced with extremely small portions, though thankfully one dish we ordered was actually quite tasty. This place is only suitable for short stays, not ideal for a longer vacation or a summer retreat. We heard that its popularity has significantly declined since it first opened, and the management really needs to reflect on their approach. On the plus side, our butler was excellent; they proactively informed us when our room was ready and even provided helpful tips on the best way to explore Xuedou Mountain.

Perched at nearly 800 meters above sea level, the mountain offered a refreshing 30°C, a welcome contrast to the 38°C at the base. Even at night, it cooled down to 24°C, making air conditioning unnecessary. Be advised that the final stretch of the road leading up to the hotel is quite narrow, so drive with extreme caution as it can be a bit nerve-wracking. Thankfully, it widens out again just before you arrive at the hotel.

Suggestions for Improvement: Firstly, I suggest offering a hotel orientation or tour service. It's possible this service exists, but I was quite busy upon arrival and wasn't able to arrange it. Our room wasn't ready when we checked in, and we ended up waiting for over an hour, which felt quite prolonged. If we were to stay again, it would be greatly appreciated if some refreshments, like tea, could be offered during such delays, and an estimated waiting time provided. I hope the hotel can either provide or sell insect repellent. We encountered quite a few mosquitoes and bugs flying around us while taking photos. We hadn't anticipated this, so it would be helpful if the hotel could inform guests in advance or make it readily available. The hotel reportedly hosts various activities, but we didn't get to experience any this time, perhaps due to insufficient guest participation. In Lijiang, we've seen hotels facilitate social groups for guests to connect, and I hope this hotel could consider a similar initiative. Given the beautiful night views, perhaps activities like movie screenings could be organized. It's also essential to clearly inform guests about the day's activities. The same principle applies to paid programs: since there are butlers, they should be equipped with pre-written information/pitches and promotional posters to distribute to every guest. Lastly, this morning, I was woken up before 8 AM by the sound of an electric saw from renovation work while I was still sleeping. I kindly request that if such tasks are not extremely urgent, they avoid scheduling them for early mornings.

It's completely unsuitable for families with children, as there's absolutely nothing for kids to do; all facilities for children are abandoned and in disrepair. Service: A shuttle bus transports guests to their rooms, but after it drops you off, you're expected to carry all your luggage to your room yourself. Hygiene: The cleanliness was just average, and the facilities are quite dated. The mattresses were old and would be very uncomfortable for anyone with back problems. Restaurant: The food itself tasted decent, but it was incredibly overpriced, especially since it's the only dining option nearby. Breakfast options were extremely limited, almost non-existent, and certainly not worth the price. Swimming Pool: There wasn't even a single staff member on duty, which raised serious safety concerns. The pool was tiny, and the water was quite cold, making it unsuitable for children to swim in. Gym: The air conditioning in the gym was ineffective; it felt just as hot with it on as off, offering no relief from the heat. I had assumed mahjong was an amenity included with our stay, but it turned out to be a chargeable item at 200 yuan for 4 hours. The fact that a deck of playing cards cost 30 yuan was frankly shocking. Children's Play Facilities: To say there are almost no children's facilities would be accurate. The indoor play area has been discontinued, and the outdoor facilities are completely abandoned and covered in cobwebs. The hotel failed to mention any of this beforehand. Service (Staff Attitude): The staff were unenthusiastic and rarely greeted guests. When we inquired about available activities, the response was a blunt 'nothing.' This was particularly disappointing considering it was peak summer season. We followed a sign pointing to 'Chiang's Former Residence,' which led us down an increasingly narrow and overgrown path. After spotting snakes, we immediately turned back. I honestly wondered if the sign was incorrect or if the hotel was so underfunded they expected guests to navigate such dangerous, undeveloped routes. We certainly didn't dare continue, fearing snake bites. Room Facilities: Upon entering, we noticed numerous cobwebs around the door. The doorbell was broken, the balcony railing was rusty, and a broken handrail was at a dangerous height for children. There were large black insects in the room, and even the key card reader was covered in cobwebs.
