Mountain view Hotels in Luang Prabang

Booked Phanya Residence for a trip to Luang Prabang with my parents during the Chinese New Year, and it provided us with a fantastic travel experience. The hotel is truly, incredibly beautiful, with its aesthetic evident everywhere, blending local Laotian charm with classic European style. We booked a family room that could accommodate four people; the beds and amenities were great. I particularly loved the oil paintings in the room, and the wooden floors felt lovely underfoot. But the most important thing, by far, was their incredibly thoughtful and professional service! I accidentally left my earphones behind, and they went out of their way to deliver them to my friend's hotel. The owner was so kind and helpful, even when I kept bothering them with emails at night. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel. The location is excellent, very close to the Royal Palace and the night market, offering a quiet escape yet still being central. There's a temple right next door, which is wonderful. Plus, there are plenty of dining options nearby. If I ever go back to Luang Prabang, I would absolutely love to stay here again.

This hotel is absolutely perfect for families with kids! We spent most of our three-day, two-night stay at the pools, and the children had an amazing time. The hotel has two pools, one for adults and a shallower one that's great for younger kids. Beyond that, the public areas are beautifully maintained and very relaxing, ideal for a vacation. They also offer frequent shuttle services to Yangren Street, which makes getting around super convenient. And I have to mention the breakfast – it was delicious and came with a fantastic view. If only we had more time, I would have loved to stay and relax for another couple of days! Finally, a huge thank you to the hotel manager, Ms. Fu, who assisted us during our stay. As she's Chinese, we added her on WeChat after check-in, and she helped us with so many travel issues (booking private cars, rescheduling restaurant reservations, and various other small requests). I felt a bit bad for bothering her so much, but she was incredibly gentle and patient throughout. We'll definitely be staying here again next time. Thanks for taking such good care of us! ❤️

Chinese travelers, this is the place to stay! I booked this hotel blindly, and the front desk staff, who spoke some Chinese, was incredibly friendly. The courtyard is lovely, and there's a subtle, pleasant scent in the room – very comfortable. Breakfast was especially fantastic, with six different set meals to choose from (see pic). For less than 300, the service and cleanliness are better than what you'd find in a 500+ hotel back home in China. It's truly amazing value! It's also very close to the Foreigners Street and Wat Xieng Thong, just a few hundred meters walk.

The hotel is a bit far from the attractions in the Old Town and the city center. The hotel environment is good; the lobby, restaurant, and rooms are quite spacious, and there's an outdoor pool, though it's not very deep. I hope they improve facility maintenance and room checks.

Nice rooms and budget friendly. Quiet rooms with balcony and great showers. Breakfast is simple but fruits are good. Coffee which served in breakfast is not good but overall is great.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The hostel has a friendly atmosphere and is a great place to meet fellow travellers. While you’re in Luang Prabang, don’t just stay at the hostel—go bowling, explore the vibrant night market, visit the beautiful temple on top of the hill for stunning views, and take a walk through the riverside market. The town has a peaceful charm that’s very different from larger cities. One thing to keep in mind is that Luang Prabang has relatively quiet evenings. Most places close early, and the hostel gate also closes around 11:00 pm, so it’s a good idea to plan your night accordingly. Occasionally, you may also experience short power outages, but that’s simply part of the local experience and adds to the town’s unique character. Overall, Luang Prabang is a charming and memorable destination, and this hostel is a great base for exploring everything the city has to offer. I would happily stay here again.

I had a great time at this elegant, yet affordable guest house. Room #1 was perfect for me with a balcony view of the Mekong River and for people watching during the Lao New Year in mid-April. The bed was comfy, the wifi worked very well, and the hot water worked, but needed a little time to heat up. The breakfast just a hop, skip and jump away on the riverbank side was divine, and the manager was charming.The service at the front desk of the guest house was also very friendly and at one point a lifesaver, meaning my online tour operator (a different company) did not show up for my elephant excursion, but Jamho, a staff member solved that problem with an even better elephant excursion with elephant riding! I loved it, and was more reasonably priced than the other company. This guest house is highly recommended!

Wonderful smaller hotel in a quiet part of Luang Prabang that doesn’t attract the large, noisy tourist groups. Hotel is right across the road from the Mekong river and breakfast is served on a platform overlooking the river which is extremely scenic and peaceful. The hotel is close to all the main attractions in the city and the host and staff are wonderfully friendly and helpful. Was delighted to stay here.

The landlord is not honest. When we asked him a bus ticket to Phonsavan he charged us more than 50%. Outrageous. Actually I knew the price in the beginning, so asked him if it should be about $12 but he insisted there was no way he could match that price. So funny. All he had to do was call and make a reservation for us, but instead he tried to get profit out of the reservation and charged $18 each. And we had to do nothing but trust him. However, when we arrived at the terminal, we realized that the one way ride to Phonsavan was even less that $11.30. I don't recommend this hotel run by this sly business man.

My room (6 female dorm) was large, with pool view, ensuite bathroom, good quality hand washing lotion, toilet paper and hot water shower. The bunk beds are good and solid but the mattresses on the thin side (Chinese style). There are no lockers in the room so it can get crammed Previous reviews mentioned ”pool closed and construction side noise” - this was definitely not the case during my stay. The hostel is located some 30 minutes walk from the city centre, thus perfect if you need a place to rest or for longer stays. They offer e-bikes/scooters for rent
