Located in the historical Yujuku hot-spring area, Taiyokan offers public hot-spring baths. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the property and a hot-spring bath can be reserved for private-use as well. JR Jomokogen Train Station is a 20-minute drive away. The air-conditioned rooms feature tatami (woven-straw) floors and Japanese futon bedding. A flat-screen TV, a safety deposit box and an electric kettle are included in each room. Japanese Yukata robes and toothbrush sets are provided for all guests, and rooms come with a private toilet. Bathroom facilities are shared. Local souvenirs can purchased at the gift shop. Luggage storage is offered at the front desk. Taiyokan Ryokan is a 5-minute drive from Akaya River and Takumi no Sato Craft Village.

This is the best stay I’ve ever stayed It’s a family run pension with two super friendly golden retrievers, the whole house is newly built, extremely clean, and decorated with good taste The dinner and breakfast are western- Japanese fusion, everything is homemade, definitely worth trying There is a nice and clean private onsen, or you can take a bus to have a day trip to other bigger onsen Minakami itself is a countryside area, and the pension is right next to the bus station There is literally nothing around the stay, so you need to get everything you need in Minakami station, but I think it’s a characteristic rather than disadvantage

What impressed me most was the excellent breakfast and dinner! I highly recommend staying at this onsen hotel when visiting Gunma. The main dish for dinner was sukiyaki, which was delicious, and each dish was prepared with great care. The food here is really tasty! This time, I stayed in a room with a private open-air onsen bath. The onsen quality here is very high; the spring water isn't heated, allowing you to soak while enjoying the view of Mount Tanigawa. The service was impeccable in every detail, including specially provided pajamas and decaffeinated roasted tea served at night. The next morning, you can also enjoy complimentary coffee while admiring Mount Tanigawa again.

Worth the price if you’re looking for authentic Japanese food and ryokan experience. Comfy private indoor onsen. The staff are really nice and can communicate in English via good translate. They has a shuttle to Minakami Station when we checked out.

We stayed for one night in late November. It was a shame that the autumn leaves were at their final stage. The tofu kaiseki cuisine was delicious, tasty, and colorful. Many of the surrounding hotels and inns have closed, so the scenery feels lonely. I recommend this place for those who want to enjoy both the baths and the food.

Overall clean and beautiful. The entrance is up one step, but be careful there because it is OK. There are no restaurants or convenience stores around, and the end bus is early, so those who stay overnight need to consider measures.
