Kibo Palace Hotel Moshi
"I had dinner at the hotel and I did not realize that the waitress made a mistake and charged my credit card in US dollars instead of 33.990 TZ shillings. An hour later, the waitress knocked my door and told me about the mistake and that they would reverse the transaction in the morning. It took the hotel 2 days to sort that out with their bank (NMB Bank). I spent about US$500 on international phone calls with my bank in SA so that they undersand the problem and help me solve it. After a long struggle, I got my money back after 25 days. I am writing this to alert tourists who visit Tz. Please look at the credit card machine to ensure that the correct currency is being charged before pressing the buttons. Scrutinize the receipts that you get and keep them until you get home. Regardless of the nerve-racking experience that I had, I would like to thank the Kibo Palace Hotel administration and staff for their honesy (admitting the error) and for the great efforts they put forth to ensure thae reversal of the reve money as they had no experience with this issue before. Everybody at the hotel was sympathetic and very supportive. Every now and then they contacted me to see if I got the money or not. My advice to the hotel is to train their staff especially waitresses/waiters in using payment machines, and even improving their English to avoid such mistakes and hastles. I wish the accountant tooke me with her to the bank so that I know exactly what is going on so that I give solutions or ask my bank for solutions. if I come back to Moshi, I would definitely stay at the Kibo Palce Hotel and enjoy Mt Kilimanjaro views."
Kitolie Home and Lodge
"The butler was very polite and provided friendly service. The price was reasonable and breakfast was included. However, the water pressure was very low when showering late at night."
Kilimanjaro Wonders Hotel
"Breakfast is OK. Other facilities are average value for money compared to the price."
Kili Haven Lodge
"Kili Haven Lodge truly felt like a home away from home! The room was spacious, clean, and super comfortable just what I needed after long travel days. The Wi-Fi was fast and reliable, which was a big plus. And the breakfast? Absolutely delicious fresh, local, and full of flavor. The staff were kind and welcoming, and the peaceful setting made my stay even more special. I’d definitely recommend this gem in Moshi to anyone visiting!"
The Better Inn
"I stayed for one week. Overall it wasn't too bad, but I am not a difficult person to please. More picky customers would probably not be too happy with the service. The Positives: - The Room was a decent size, had great water pressure and a very effective hot water heater. - Bed was quite comfortable and had extra pillows - area is quiet and peaceful setting - the food was quite delish - only a short boda or tuktuk ride into town Negatives: - the power goes out often - no AC in rooms (does have fan though) - no screens on windows...so when the power goes out and you have no fan, you can't even open the windows at night cause you'll get eaten alive by mosquitoes...so you just sit in a hot ass room with no air movement. - staff were friendly but seemed very unmotivated. Had to wave someone down every single time I needed a refill of my drink, or anything like that. - in 7 days, my room was not cleaned once. I am sure they would have if I asked, but normally this is something that is automatically done."
Climbers Home
"The location is good and the breakfast was simple but delicious. I booked a dormitory room but they let me use the room exclusively."
Panama Garden Resort
"Nice and quiet hotel to fuel up for a Kilimanjaro trip. Friendly staff, good cuisine meeting culinary expectations for people from all over the world. It was also perfect to wind down after the hike, relaxing at the bar (watching the world cup) and at the pool."
Volunteer Hostel
Nyota Safari Lodge Moshi
"Our stay at Nyota Safari Lodge was very pleasant overall and ideal for travelers planning activities around Mount Kilimanjaro. The lodge is well located and works perfectly as a base before or after Kilimanjaro excursions. The atmosphere is relaxed, and the experience felt authentic and welcoming. The food was freshly prepared every day and tasted excellent. We especially enjoyed the typical local dishes, which made the stay feel like a genuine cultural experience rather than just a standard hotel stop. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. It is also a good place to organize activities: you can easily ask about safaris and tours in advance and receive very good offers directly through the lodge. This makes planning onward travel and excursions simple and convenient. Overall, a lovely and comfortable stay — especially recommended for anyone traveling to the Kilimanjaro region and looking for a reliable base with great local food and helpful service."

Ameg Lodge Kilimanjaro
"The staff were friendly, there was a pool, and the rooms were cottage-style, which was a nice touch for a resort hotel. The rooms were clean, and the beds had mosquito nets, so mosquito protection was excellent. It was convenient for climbing Mount Kilimanjaro and taking safaris, but it was a bit far from downtown, so we had to use a car."
Nguchiro Palace
"First trip to Tanzania. Our agency set us up with this hotel, and it has been the most delightful 2 nights so far. The staff is amazingly helpful and friendly, food is excellent and rooms are very confortable ! We highly recommand this place !"
Explorers Kilimanjaro Boutique Hotel
Brubru Lodge
"Lovely place in Moshi. We stayed for 4 days. The stuff is really friendly and helpful. Food (breakfast and dinner) is delicious. Its located in a very good neighborhood. Pool and sun chairs invite to hang out and relax. Rooms and premises are clean. Super WLAN speed/connection."
Kilimanjaro Scenic Lodge
"spent 3 nights at Kilimanjaro Scenic Lodge, and it was truly a memorable experience. The lodge is owned and operated by Mr. Gabriel, who made us feel completely at home. The property is peaceful, surrounded by beautiful nature—an ideal place to relax and recharge. What really made the difference was Mr. Gabriel’s incredible hospitality. He helped us arrange transportation from the airport, transfers to Arusha, and even local tours to explore nearby adventures. From a Moshi-style barbecue to finding medicine when we needed it, he took care of everything with genuine care. The homemade meals were delicious and gave us the energy we needed after our Kilimanjaro climb. We especially enjoyed our long conversations with Mr. Gabriel about Tanzanian culture—his deep respect for community and tradition shines through in everything he does. Mr. Gabriel puts is incredibly resourceful and passionate—whether it’s organizing safaris, cooking local cuisine, or curating authentic experiences. If you’re looking for genuine hospitality and a place that feels like home, Kilimanjaro Scenic Lodge is the perfect choice."
Selig Resort
Selig Hotel
"The service was excellent from the moment we got into the hotel . The view of Mount Kilimanjaro is fantastic from their rooftop bar. Good place to stay at getting ready to climb Kili and for rest when you come down."
Nyumbani Hotels & Resorts - Moshi
"The hotel did not accept/ recognize our trip booking. They insisted we pay additional cash at the reception. Twice the amount listed on Trip. They insisted we should cancel our booking and pay cash which we had to do because we arrived at 6pm. The room was dusty. The bedding has stains. The wall paint was peeling and the shower was unusable. Breakfast was okay."
Kinga Homes Boutique Hotel
"This is the most beautiful place, the gardens are stunning, the rooms are large and very clean. Over all this, the team is warm, friendly, helpful and respectful. I was met at the airport by friendly faces, my bag was whisked away and I already felt comfortable after long flights. Just perfect, you will not want to leave."
Keys Hotel
"Keys Hotel is my favorite hotel in moshi, they have the best kukuchoma and the best staff. Love them sooooooo much. I highly recommend."
