Kibo Palace Hotel Moshi
"I had dinner at the hotel and I did not realize that the waitress made a mistake and charged my credit card in US dollars instead of 33.990 TZ shillings. An hour later, the waitress knocked my door and told me about the mistake and that they would reverse the transaction in the morning. It took the hotel 2 days to sort that out with their bank (NMB Bank). I spent about US$500 on international phone calls with my bank in SA so that they undersand the problem and help me solve it. After a long struggle, I got my money back after 25 days. I am writing this to alert tourists who visit Tz. Please look at the credit card machine to ensure that the correct currency is being charged before pressing the buttons. Scrutinize the receipts that you get and keep them until you get home. Regardless of the nerve-racking experience that I had, I would like to thank the Kibo Palace Hotel administration and staff for their honesy (admitting the error) and for the great efforts they put forth to ensure thae reversal of the reve money as they had no experience with this issue before. Everybody at the hotel was sympathetic and very supportive. Every now and then they contacted me to see if I got the money or not. My advice to the hotel is to train their staff especially waitresses/waiters in using payment machines, and even improving their English to avoid such mistakes and hastles. I wish the accountant tooke me with her to the bank so that I know exactly what is going on so that I give solutions or ask my bank for solutions. if I come back to Moshi, I would definitely stay at the Kibo Palce Hotel and enjoy Mt Kilimanjaro views."
Kilimanjaro Wonders Hotel
"Good value hotel for Moshi Town. People were very helpful -0 especially Jospeh who went out of his way to ensure we got our luggage when KLM failed to deliver it via the airport. He wasnt unique - all the staff were very helpful"

It’s the ideal base for exploring the region while enjoying tranquility away from the bustle. • Personalised Experience: What truly sets Ameg Lodge apart is the way they tailor the experience to each guest. I felt more than just accommodated—I felt genuinely cared for, with thoughtful gestures that made my stay unique and unforgettable. Kitolie Home and Lodge
"The butler was very polite and provided friendly service. The price was reasonable and breakfast was included. However, the water pressure was very low when showering late at night."
Keys Hotel
"Great service and food at this hotel. Elizabeth and Foya were amazing servers and wait staff. We loved both the food and the staff. Everyone was so kind and helpful. Wonderful customer service!"
Nyumbani Hotels & Resorts - Moshi
"The toilet needs repair. Room 337. Otherwise, good value for money. Breakfast was good."
Kilimanjaro Crane Hotel
"Average hotel and don't too much from it.Staffs were good, courteous, happy, welcoming and kind.Food selection was good and sweet.Internet was very poor for about 4 days.Blackouts also even at night were random. The rooms are clean and swimming pool on the premise. The hotel is near the town in a walking distance.Prices are withing fair average budget"
Panama Garden Resort
"It is a good location near Moshi and also very convenient for Kilimanjaro trips and town tours."
Parkview Inn
"I stayed at Parkview Inn the night before and night after my Kilimanjaro climb. The staff were friendly and helpful, the food was good and the rooms were comfortable. There was plentiful hot water available for the post-climb shower and, if you’re back in time there’s a laundry service available, though unfortunately our group was back too late to use it. We were advised to leave all valuables in the hotel safe for the climb and it felt very safe doing so. Would recommend as a Kilimanjaro base."

Kilimanjaro Scenic Lodge
"spent 3 nights at Kilimanjaro Scenic Lodge, and it was truly a memorable experience. The lodge is owned and operated by Mr. Gabriel, who made us feel completely at home. The property is peaceful, surrounded by beautiful nature—an ideal place to relax and recharge. What really made the difference was Mr. Gabriel’s incredible hospitality. He helped us arrange transportation from the airport, transfers to Arusha, and even local tours to explore nearby adventures. From a Moshi-style barbecue to finding medicine when we needed it, he took care of everything with genuine care. The homemade meals were delicious and gave us the energy we needed after our Kilimanjaro climb. We especially enjoyed our long conversations with Mr. Gabriel about Tanzanian culture—his deep respect for community and tradition shines through in everything he does. Mr. Gabriel puts is incredibly resourceful and passionate—whether it’s organizing safaris, cooking local cuisine, or curating authentic experiences. If you’re looking for genuine hospitality and a place that feels like home, Kilimanjaro Scenic Lodge is the perfect choice."
Kili Haven Lodge
"Kili Haven Lodge truly felt like a home away from home! The room was spacious, clean, and super comfortable just what I needed after long travel days. The Wi-Fi was fast and reliable, which was a big plus. And the breakfast? Absolutely delicious fresh, local, and full of flavor. The staff were kind and welcoming, and the peaceful setting made my stay even more special. I’d definitely recommend this gem in Moshi to anyone visiting!"
Explorers Kilimanjaro Boutique Hotel
Kindoroko Hotel
"The staff was very helpful and accepted all my requests. If I have another chance to come to this country, I would definitely like to stay here again. I also want to recommend this place to my friends."
Nyota Safari Lodge Moshi
"Our stay at Nyota Safari Lodge was very pleasant overall and ideal for travelers planning activities around Mount Kilimanjaro. The lodge is well located and works perfectly as a base before or after Kilimanjaro excursions. The atmosphere is relaxed, and the experience felt authentic and welcoming. The food was freshly prepared every day and tasted excellent. We especially enjoyed the typical local dishes, which made the stay feel like a genuine cultural experience rather than just a standard hotel stop. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. It is also a good place to organize activities: you can easily ask about safaris and tours in advance and receive very good offers directly through the lodge. This makes planning onward travel and excursions simple and convenient. Overall, a lovely and comfortable stay — especially recommended for anyone traveling to the Kilimanjaro region and looking for a reliable base with great local food and helpful service."
Volunteer Hostel
Kibo Homes Moshi
"I was so disappointed in this place. Many of the big amenities listed on the booking platform used were missing: gym, breakfast, oven. Many other listed amenities were missing upon arrival but were brought eventually: soaps, salt/olive oil, bug nets. The kitchen was infested with gnats upon arrival and the floor very dirty. Broken glass in the downstairs bathroom, and leaking shower upstairs. Backyard was not as photographed (I stayed in house 3 but the photos are not of house 3) - it was almost all dirt (no grass). Host very long to respond. Local manager unable to assist with simple things like rides into town for a fair price. Multiple power outages which is normal for Moshi, but the generator was not strong enough to handle the outages so we were without power and internet many times. When it worked, the internet was strong. Because of the serious inaccuracies in the listing, I had to pursue booking agency for refund as host was unwilling to compensate. I would not return and do not recommend this place."
Climbers Home
"Best Value Guesthouse! First of all, the room was clean and comfortable. It had a fresh and tidy feel, and I slept very well. Since it was the off-season when I stayed, I was able to use the room all to myself. Friendly and helpful staff They kindly assisted me with SIM card setup and gave useful advice. I actually lost my key during my stay, but they quickly replaced the lock, which was a big help. Delicious food at the rooftop restaurant There’s a restaurant on the rooftop, and the food was great! It was also a nice place to meet and talk with other travelers, which made me feel at ease. If you’re looking for a clean and affordable place to stay in Moshi, you can’t go wrong here. Thank you very much!"
