GGuest UserI arrived at The Better Inn Hostel on September 1st. & plan to remain here indefinitely due to the outstanding quality of this environment! Amos Lufumbilo, The Managing Director who is a man of the utmost integrity & his wonderful Assistant, Issa Hamisi facilitate this spectacular Hostel & also offer many tours at highly reasonable prices! I was first greeted at the gate by Borealis, a most friendly employee who’s BEST attribute is her attention to Customer Service & superb efficiency assisting Tourists with anything imaginable! The sensational Chef, Danny has attended school specifically for preparing gourmet meals ranging from their complimentary Breakfast to a varied menu for lunch & dinner = quite impressive! Moses is a superb Gardener as well as maintaining the Hostel Compounds exquisite grounds! He also assists with Housekeeping Duties & if needed helps in the kitchen! Noela, prides herself in keeping immaculately clean Guest Rooms & full bathrooms with flush toilets, hot showers & a sink area. The mosquito nets are carefully draped like a canopy over each King Sized Bed with white sheets, pillows & a cozy blanket. A plush towel is provided daily or as often as a Guest chooses! Noela is also available to wash Guests clothing for a very reasonable rate. There is also a comfortable 2-seater settee to enjoy reading, writing, etc. & a nice sized end table to accommodate Tourists various belongings + hooks on the back of the door to hang clothing. The four thatched Huts provide areas to relax, read or converse with other Guests. The biggest Hut has a Bar Area with a variety of cold soft drinks, & beer, a big kitchen, 2 large dining tables complete with table cloths & a lovely sitting area with a large flat screen T.V. So far, I have gone on a fun Bike Tour in a beautiful Sugarcane Plantation with my own personal guide, an incredible weekend at The Osillgilai Maasai Lodge, a booked week in Zanzibar with an ocean front Bungalow for Christmas & an upcoming Safari being planned! My main goal for staying in the Moshi area for a year is to volunteer teach in various schools, to observe watching students in action in other schools & assisting in an Orphanage. In terms of school highlights “The Faraja School” + Boarding Home to 100 severely Physically Challenged students from age 7 to 18 was a monumental experience! I was personally driven the two hour distance each way by Issa in Amos’ vehicle = YES Guests are treated like royalty!. It is an honor to be a Guest here & I feel quite blessed! Sincerely, Kevin Jane Miller
