Very nice traditional onsen ryokan in the centre of Kurokawa onsen with river in front of rooms. Staff able to converse well in english. Excellent dinner which is Michelin Star quality. Cave onsen and private semi open air onsen a must try !

Excellent location. If you drive, your driving skill got to be good to manoeuvre through the narrow streets and the sharp bend to the onsen car park. The only downside was some of the onsen areas do not have bathing facilities. You will need to bathe in the indoor onsen area, put on your yukata again (cause you will need to walk through a path where the public can see you, to the cave and outdoor onsen.

Hotel is easy to find. Car park is largest than other hotel. Onsen is very good particularly the outdoor onsen. Staff is helpful and sincere. Wifi is strong. will come again or recommend to friends.

The location is very good, in the center of Kurokawa. The ryokan has a beautiful private bathhouse, which can be reserved for a specific time upon arrival. The other bathhouses are also very nice, the grounds are spacious, and there's plenty of room to wander around. I recommend checking out all the onsen available to you if you have the chance. We really enjoyed everything.

The hotel has English service. Because the hot spring town is in a valley, there are many ups and downs. If you have a large suitcase, you must ask the hotel to pick you up at the station. The hotel has fixed delivery times at 10 am and 11 am. If you are leaving in the afternoon, you can ask the hotel to deliver to the storage point at the station in the morning, and then go back to the town for a stroll. Storage for large items is 500 yuan/time (100 yuan*5), and small items are 100 yuan/time. The hotel is built on the mountain and is very special. There are 5 hot springs in the hotel, and cave hot springs are the feature. The room is close to the river, and the sound of the stream is very loud at night, making it difficult to fall asleep. One night and two meals are OK.

The Nepalese guy at the front desk is very lively. It is located in the center of Kurokawa. It was booked for the cave hot spring. It is very special. Although the room is old and the dinner is average, the location and scenery are excellent. The room faces the river and the bridge. Many tourists come back to this bridge to take pictures during the day. The private hot spring is also good. The price-performance ratio is also acceptable. If you don't want to walk too far, you can consider this one

Our first trip to Kurokawa, this hotel was our choice. It's convenient to get to and close to the bus stop (I think we could have asked for a pickup, but we somehow missed it—but on the way back, they dropped us off at the bus stop). It's a very beautiful ryokan, with fantastic onsen. Iwato is an interesting cave and very beautiful. We stayed for two days, and on the second day, they served us a different dinner and breakfast menu for variety. The dinner was very filling; I couldn't eat that much. It's a beautiful, atmospheric place; I'd come back.

It is probably the most unique hot spring hotel in Kurokawa Onsen. The food is very delicious and the cave hot spring is very unique.

Incredible experience of a very authentic ryokan! Good location - in the center of Kurokawa, right on the river bank. Spacious room in traditional style. Extremely clean. It was warm enough thanks to the air conditioner, despite the fact that it was cold and snowing outside. The room has its own bathroom. The kaiseki dinner did not leave me indifferent - it was like a special event - everything was very beautiful and very tasty. Breakfast is also good. The hotel has wonderful baths - one of them is in a cave. The water is moderately hot. Everything was very clean. Many thanks to all the hotel staff for a wonderful holiday - I will come again with pleasure.

I visited again in January. The food menu was good and the hot spring trip was the best.

The day before check-in I called to book a shuttle service from Kurokawa Onsen Station to the ryokan, but our family waited at the bus station for 20 minutes after getting off the bus yet to wait for the hotel shuttle, because the phone card did not have a Japanese phone number, we could not contact Saya.
