2024 Japanese Garden Ranked 6th! I came here for the garden! There are welcome snacks at the front desk when you check in, and Japanese sweets as welcome snacks after you enter the room. The room is western style.

A very good hotel. The service is very considerate and touching. The breakfast is also very rich and delicious! The room is large and the butler will help introduce all the facilities. I will choose to stay here next time!

Jiemei Pavilion, beautiful, delicious, and comfortable to stay

This wonderful ryokan, founded in 1888, is on Lake Shinji. That old? I was amazed to hear its age, but obviously this ryokan has undergone renovations to keep up with the times. To me, it felt quite modern. The room was spacious, with the ability to section off a living room, and dining area from the sleeping area. There was an in-suite hot tub (onsen) with windows overlooking the lake. Like many ryokans, the toilet was hidden away in another part of the suite, but it was quite adequate. I enjoyed the early morning when I could sip tea or coffee I made from the in-room appliances. Then, I could watch many small fishing boats going out to sea. The staff were quite accommodating. Japanese or "American" breakfast was included. I was with a group of 10 people. We had a kaiseki dinner in a private room. The food was terrific. The staff was amazing, truly fabulous staff who accommodated all our requests with such grace. This must be the best ryokan in Matsue!

The inn is located on the shore of Lake Shinji, about a 15-minute bus ride from JR Matsue Station. It is also close to Matsue Castle, about a 15-minute walk away. It is a long-established Japanese-style inn, so it shakes a little when you walk, but the facilities are modern and clean. From the large window of the room, you can see the dry landscape garden that is often ranked highly in American Japanese garden magazines. The garden is not large, but the well-maintained pine trees that are 200 to 300 years old and the white sand are a must-see. There is a hot spring bath in the room, and you can bathe in the clear water as many times as you like. In the morning, you can see fishermen catching clams and waterfowl in the Ohashi River opposite. If you can see a swan, you're lucky. The specialty sea bream chazuke for breakfast was also delicious. I also appreciate the friendly service of the staff.

It was a very comfortable inn. The food was also delicious. The "Taimeshi (chazuke)" that I had for breakfast was particularly outstanding. I even thought about buying it as a souvenir. The inn itself is in the downtown area (bar district?) and there are one-way streets, so you need to be careful if you go by car, such as a rental car. However, Matsue Castle and other tourist spots are within walking distance from the inn, so it is a great base for your trip. Since it was the end of my trip, I tried to send some souvenirs by courier, and the hotel staff did all the packaging for me. I am very happy with this kind of hospitality.

The room with an open-air bath on the top floor was spacious. The view from the room was also nice. The sunset and sunrise were beautiful, and it felt like a bargain to be able to see them from the bath in the room. The bath in the room was a hot spring, and it felt like a free-flowing bath, so it was nice. If you're staying overnight, this room is a good deal. The food and service were average, and there was nothing particularly outstanding about it. Perhaps because there were not many staff, the breakfast felt more like it was pre-made rather than freshly made. The clam soup was also not very good, and didn't taste like clams. The clams I bought as a souvenir were tastier. It didn't suit my taste.

I stayed in a room called Oimatsu. It was quite spacious. Although it was spacious, it was cleaned thoroughly. Oimatsu does not have an open-air bath, but there is a hot spring in the room. It seems that there are also rooms with open-air baths. It is a completely Japanese style, so there are no sofas. You have to sit on the tatami mats on the floor, so it may be uncomfortable if you are not used to it. The food is Japanese kaiseki style, and the fish dishes are especially delicious. The sea bream rice for breakfast was also interesting. The staff are uniformly kind and full of hospitality. It is a wonderful inn.

到着すると玄関前に仲居さんがお揃いでのお出迎え。館内でお会いするスタッフ皆様が挨拶等々必ず声を掛けて頂き、館内で迷子になっていると清掃の方が案内してくださったりと本当に気持ちの良いお宿でした。1点だけ残念だったのが夕食の配膳スタッフの方が海外の方でしたがナイフとフォークを八の字にしてあり食材も残っていたが食器を下げようとされた事ですね。全体的には大満足でした。ありがとうございました。

素晴らしいの一言、またとまりたい。湖が見える部屋はかなり素敵だった。庭が有名なんだとは思うが、庭が見えない部屋も素晴らしい。食事処などなにをもってしてもすばらしかった。知り合いが山側の部屋に泊まっていたので行ったが、ちょっとお金をプラスして、湖側の部屋にした方が満足度が増すと思った。部屋風呂があり、湖を見ながら風呂に入れる。またいきたい。
