"The overall experience was great. The area is very quiet and conveniently located for both dining and sightseeing. It's incredibly close to both the University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University, just a few minutes' walk away. The breakfast is standard American fare, which might be a slight drawback for Chinese visitors. However, all in all, it was fine, and I would definitely choose to stay at this hotel again on my next visit!"
"The room was very comfortable, especially the supporting kitchen facilities helped us to eat for 9 nights. The service is in place, the waiter will ask if the room needs to be cleaned every day."
"This is our second stay at a hotel under the same brand, but in a different city. The front desk staff today were very welcoming. The room was spacious enough for our family of five, clean and tidy, and the water pressure was excellent. The location is convenient for getting around, and the service was warm. Overall, this hotel provided a great experience for my family! 👍"
"The broken floor lamp in our room was removed and never replaced. When I inquired, the front desk staff on duty that day casually dismissed my concern, claiming not all rooms had floor lamps. Fortunately, I'd stayed here before. And not taking their word for it, I checked other rooms being cleaned and even confirmed with the cleaning staff that every room is indeed supposed to have one. This level of service was truly disappointing! Given that this floor lamp is the room's primary light source, the room was very dark without it. We decided then to approach a different front desk staff member the following day.
Then there was the bedding. I couldn't tell if housekeeping hadn't changed the sheets or if they simply looked that way, but they appeared slept in and even had hairs on them. We only discovered this late at night when preparing for bed, as we hadn't pulled back the covers upon check-in. Given the late hour, we simply took photos as evidence (first three pictures).
The next day, we reported these issues to the front desk. The lady on duty apologized sincerely and assured us the sheets would be changed as soon as the cleaning staff arrived, also promising to replace the missing floor lamp.
We thought all issues had been perfectly resolved. To our horror, that evening, upon returning to the hotel and pulling back the covers, we were greeted by a sticky, gooey mess. It looked like a used band-aid that hadn't been removed from the sheet before washing, resulting in a sticky, clumpy residue (last picture). It was so disgusting that we quickly wrapped it in tissue paper and removed it. But at that point, we were beyond complaining and frankly, had no energy left to report it to the front desk again. We just let it go.
Honestly, despite these frustrating incidents, the hotel itself does have its good points. The location is excellent, within walking distance to CMU, and it has a small kitchenette for simple cooking. I truly hope they can improve and offer a better experience in the future."
"The room was big, the coffee machine was broken, and the plug was broken. I refused to make a purchase order. I told them to go to a platform. I took the deposit and consumed an egg (very funny). I should have placed an order. (There were no eggs in the morning. I ordered the order. They said there was a charge but didn't, and later they charged more than 2 US dollars). It's close to the station. There are many homeless people downstairs. The public security is not good. I couldn't find a parking space. In order to check in, I parked in the parking lot opposite for more than ten minutes. They charged 22 US dollars, and after driving out, they charged another 29 US dollars for the night. It was a bad experience."
"Although this hotel is inn, but the price is a bit high, the room on the first day roared loudly on the 11th floor, this sound can not imagine the sound of the roar with earplugs, the next day asked to change Room, the front desk staff had a woman's face stinking, changed to the 6th floor roaring, no air conditioning sound is still very loud, but in the acceptable range, the restaurant is close to the theater store, the location is in Pittsburgh It’s the city center, where the residents are still very simple, and there are not many Asians."
"The hotel is in a good location, the service is good, it is convenient to go anywhere, living on a high floor, you can see the beautiful scenery of the whole city from a distance, the hotel is cost-effective, and the experience is good"

GGuest UserThere are complimentary coffee on 1st Floor, and lemon tea in lobby.
Breakfast can be delivered to room, which is good
BBE ABROADABLE - Nat the ExpatWe LOVED this hotel and were so pleasantly surprised by how wonderful everything was!
Only downtown hotel with free parking we could find, which you use your room key to access. Room was SPOTLESS and honestly felt brand new! Bathroom was spacious and clean, and even the provided hair products worked really well for me.
Staff were super kind and efficient. Bed was comfy, breakfast the next morning was included and very good, with a decent amount of hot breakfast as well as pastries/cereals etc.
We plan to have more trips to Pitt in the future and will definitely be staying here again, no questions! Felt so much nicer than a budget hotel… just wow!
Ssherj102The front staff was friendly and the rooms were spacious. This one was for senior citizens that came in for a family event. We requested a room that was close and close to the elevator. Both of which were accommodated. There was appeared to be a blood stain on one of the comforters, but because it was a double room the seniors decided to put their luggage on the that bed.
GGuest UserIn town for a funeral had a good day . We did a hockey game while in town and a baseball game .. I loved Nashville however this hotel the staff was great the prices are affordable and the hotel was sooo clean
JJoshua CoitThis place was extremely clean, had many amenities such as complimentary designer toiletries, tea bottle opener, wine glasses and of course the clawfoot bathtub. One would say it was easy to forget this unit even had a rain tile large walk in shower.
The only down side I would say, the hotel does not have a front desk so everything is all virtual, a little different than the traditional check in, however if I would have read prior to booking the process would have been extremely painless. The supper staff over the phone were tremendously helpful.
GGuest UserTook my wife here to celebrate her birthday and when we got to the room we noticed the one chair was so marked up, we could’ve gotten a cleaner one at goodwill. Didn’t notice that the soaps and rod were ripped off the wall till we went to shower later that night. After the shower I went to fill our ice and it was half full of water. I’m not the type to complain, but for the price I wanted everything to be perfect for my wife for her birthday and the cleanliness wasn’t there.
GGuest UserThe best was so comfy I did not want to leave. Centrally located between the football and baseball stadium. Lots of food choices nearby and the continental breakfast was great.
GGuest UserTryp was awesome. Great historical location and renovation. Location was fun, safe. Staff was excellent. Will strongly recommend.
Only one issue - apparently a new rule was implemented regarding checking in early afternoon. After a 6 hour drive I arrived at 1:15pm and asked to check in. I travel for a living so I was a bit disappointed to hear it would cost an additional $50 to get my room an 1 1/2 ”early”. I asked if it was ready and was told yes. So after a 6 hour drive my choice was to sit in the lobby for an hour and a half+ or pay the $50. I said I understood if I was trying to check in at like 9:00 am.
When checking out Tryp made the experience right.
Overall, as a frequent visitor to pittsburgh I look forward to returning and highly recommend.
GGuest UserWyndham Pitts has got to be commended for its central location and unblocked view of the Three River confluence, at a great price! Check in was smooth and travel to other parts of the city was very easy, with various amenities like 24h convenience stores and jazz bars within walking distance. One could also walk to the Andy Warhol museum through the majestic Three Sisters bridges and also the Duquesne Incline for a breathtaking view of the city. And finally the pool has a great view.
One could probably only complain about the aging furnishes with some cracked or stripped wooden sections of the walls, and I thought it would be nicer to have a kettle in the room.
GGuest UserReally good location, just a few minutes walk from a very nice part of town. The hotel is very modern and comfortable with lovely amenities, including a pool and gym. Breakfast was generous although missing some bits, we were very happy. The room itself was very comfy and although the bedding wasn’t the nicest, it was very clean. I will say the area itself felt a little sketchy at night and we were concerned about the car, but all was fine. It was very different by day!
