"Overall, Citybox Danmarksplass was pretty much exactly what I expected. I really liked its location and accessibility. The Danmarksplass light rail station is right nearby, making it super convenient to get to both Bergen city center and the airport. It's a huge plus for anyone traveling by public transport. I also appreciated the self-service check-in and check-out. The entire process was quick and easy, with no need to queue or spend a lot of time on formalities. This really aligns with Citybox’s concept of simple, independent, and efficient accommodation. The hotel itself was just as I had imagined: convenient, clean, simple, modern, and very practical. While the room design is minimalist, it meets all basic accommodation needs and was kept very clean and comfortable. The communal areas are also very practical, offering a guest kitchen, microwave, kettle, and other facilities. There's also luggage storage and self-service laundry, which are all very handy for travelers. If I visit Bergen again, I would definitely consider staying here. For me, it's not a luxury hotel, but a practical one that offers convenient transport, cleanliness, reasonable prices, and a very straightforward check-in process."

"About an 8-minute walk from Bergen Station, and a 15-20 minute walk to the Bryggen area, this hotel boasts a great location. As it's a self-check-in hotel, the price point is very reasonable, making it perfectly adequate if you just need a place to sleep. It's clean, and even though it's self-check-in, you still see hotel staff around. I used the porter service for a fjord tour, and my luggage was properly stored in the baggage room."

"Excellent experience from check-in to check-out. The hotel atmosphere was relaxing, the amenities were great, and the breakfast was delicious. The staff made us feel very welcome and ensured everything was perfect. 5 min from the park , 3 supermarket around the area and 15 min walk to the wharf . Highly recommend . Comfortable bed too"

"The hotel itself is beautiful, and the room we stayed in was comfortable. However, our arrival experience was disappointing. We booked through Trip.com and, at check-in, were told that the room we had reserved was much smaller and not what we were expecting. Based on that explanation, we paid an additional fee to upgrade. Later, the hotel explained that the confusion was caused by the room photos used by the booking platform. Regardless of whose mistake it was, as a guest I was placed in a position where I felt I had to pay extra because of conflicting information between the hotel and its booking partner. I believe hotels should work closely with their booking partners to ensure room descriptions and photos are accurate, so guests can make informed decisions before arrival. I hope this process is improved for future guests."

"Loved that the staff were nice and helpful. breakfast was lovely and a good spread. The hotel was conveniently located and we could almost walk everywhere. Parking was quite close but I would recommend to drop off your luggage before driving to the parking as walking on cobblestone floors in the rain is definitely an experience of its own. Parking is expensive and not included in the hotel but well it’s in the city centre so I wouldn’t expect anything less. The hotel staff also helped us to store our luggage when we went out on our activities for the day. We stayed here twice! It was only lacking some amenities that I was used to like toothbrushes, slippers, bathrobes and shower caps but the rest were provided"

"The showerhead in the room was broken, and the cleaning staff should have noticed it during their routine checks, but they didn't. I had to take a cold shower, which is unacceptable for a hotel costing over 2000 NOK a night. The breakfast was also quite poor. I'm not sure why Trip.com prominently features this hotel in Bergen; among all the cities I've stayed in Norway, this one had the highest price and the worst service."

"In a place like Norway with an extremely high cost of living, hotel prices are truly astounding. So, even after paying a hefty room rate, you still need to adjust your expectations. However, the hotel's location is absolutely ideal; it's very close to the train station and attractions, all within walking distance, which is definitely a major plus."

"The hotel's location is excellent, right by the harbor, and within walking distance to all the attractions. Our third-floor room offered a view of the colorful houses of Bryggen across the water, though the water itself was blocked by the fish market buildings. Perhaps higher floors would have a direct view of the water. The room was neither big nor too small, and came with a kettle, tea bags, and instant coffee. The shower space was a bit cramped, but the water pressure was decent. The service was great; they were very accommodating. We found the room a bit cold, so we called down for an extra duvet, which was delivered quickly. They also proactively offered to raise our room's maximum temperature setting to 23 degrees Celsius (from the previous 19.5 degrees). We were very comfortable for the rest of our three-day stay."

"The room had a window and two twin beds pushed together. It wasn't large, but that's pretty standard for Europe and can't really be compared to hotels in China. The highlight was definitely the breakfast – it was incredibly rich and had a great variety of fruits like apples, pears, watermelon, and plums. Dinner and breakfast were served in the same place. Dinner was a bit pricey but absolutely delicious. We ended up eating there two nights and everything we ordered was fantastic, no duds at all. Tip: When dining here, they ask you to choose a tip percentage (5%, 10%, 15%, or skip) before you even get to the payment screen. The first time, I chose 15%, and the second time, 10%. I noticed other restaurants did this as well. The three dishes pictured were excellent; I didn't get photos of the others."

"The old hotel has a vintage feel and a tranquil atmosphere, with many details and historical artworks. It's conveniently located right next to the station. The breakfast is plentiful and varied, and you can enjoy the view and watch people go by from the window."
