Luv to travelOn the day I checked in, I left my things in the room and I went shopping. I did leave a Do Not Disturb sign on my door. When I came back, the minute I put down my shopping, someone tried to open my door. Looked through my peep hole and saw a middle aged woman. The key obviously did not work. She left after a while but came back with a bell boy who rang in my doorbell. I opened the door and bellboy apologised and asked if I was staying here. I said I have checked in at 3pm. Bellboy pointed at two luggages and said he sent them to the wrong room? Wait what? Whose are these? The woman said they were hers. Bell boy said he delivered them to the wrong room.
Next, front desk called me and asked for my name. Not to apologise but ask for my identity. She confirmed that there’s been a mistake in assigning rooms. I asked her what do I need to do. She said nothing. No apologies. I asked her why the bellboy entered my room even though the Do Not Disturb sign was there. No answer.
My advise to those who choose to stay here - double lock your doors and keep your valuables with you. They did not respect my DND sign and entered my room.

Che Shi MinThe stay was comfortable and chill. The hotel is newly open and clean. Parking is convenient and the gym was the best gym I have in Ipoh. The gym machine is new and well function. The jogging and cycling machines also a lot so that I don’t need to wait for others. There is jazcuzi and swimming pool as well. The garden are beautiful and nice photo session.

Shukrina Abdul RahmanSpacious room, desk for work space is good and comfortable. Suitable for business traveler like me. But i dont like the room at level 3, when they are doing construction work at 4.30am, very noisy and I can’t sleep properly. Mattress and bed, pillows very comfortable. But the most important, they cant maintain cleanliness level up to the standard. When at morning i went out for breakfast i found the rubbish front of my door. My room was at the end of the row. Maybe other guests just use my front door as their dumpster. But what shocked me most, when i went out from my room. There was house keeper there, but when i talked to him about cleaning the rubbish he just said to me wait for office instructions. Really unbelievable! No urgency to clear the rubbish and their housekeeper standard of cleanliness really bad!

The hotel isn't too far or too close to the train station; you can see it. But if it's a hot day and you're carrying luggage, just grab a taxi – it's only a few bucks.
The two young gentlemen in the ground floor lobby provided excellent service. They always proactively opened the door for us and were very polite.
The guy who checked me in was also great; he let me get my room half an hour early.
The lobby on the 18th floor has a very comfortable atmosphere.
The room was also very good.
There's a 7-Eleven downstairs.
During the day, it's very close to 'San Na Street' (likely a local reference, perhaps a specific shopping area or street name); just be careful crossing the road.
All the shops close very early and are often shut.
There's absolutely nothing around at night.
I didn't even know where to go to get a taxi!
Better just go to bed early.

MikeLimMyHotel Regal Vista is a well-located, budget-friendly hotel — strong on location and value, but showing its age in terms of interior polish. Here's a professional traveler's take.
The hotel sits on Jalan Veerasamy, roughly 0.78 km from Ipoh Old Town, just a 6-minute walk to Memory Lane Market and only 331 metres from Ipoh Parade shopping centre, with the historic Ipoh Railway Station about 1.6 km away.
It's centrally placed and easy to navigate on foot or by Grab, making it a solid base for exploring the Old Town's murals, cafés, and street food scene.
Easy access to public transport and nearby eateries, with clean rooms, comfortable beds, and convenient parking
Secure 24-hour car park nearby, plus proximity to the pedestrian street, KFC, etc.
A short stroll to the Kinta River walk (popular with early-morning joggers), decent breakfast, and spacious rooms
Staff are consistently described as helpful, and value for money is a recurring theme
It's best described as a reliable ”safe choice” — good on location, cleanliness, and price, but the interior is dated with no boutique or modern feel, amenities are basic, and sound insulation is only average (some guests report hearing motorbikes from the street below)
- A minority of reviews flagged isolated cleanliness lapses, such as a clogged sink causing odour — not systemic, but worth checking room reviews before booking
- Not the pick for travellers chasing a design-forward or resort-style stay
Travelers Tips💐
For backpackers, business travellers on short stays, or anyone prioritising proximity to Old Town's food and heritage sites, this hotel is hard to beat on location and price. If ambience, soundproofing, or a boutique aesthetic matter more to you, it's worth comparing against Old Town's design-led guesthouses (think Sekeping-style properties or mural-district boutique inns) instead.
Either way, I'd recommend checking recent room-specific reviews before booking, and avoiding street-facing or lower-floor rooms if noise sensitivity is a concern.

I only stayed one day in Ipoh as a stopover. This hotel isn't in the city center, and it's not particularly close to the train station either. However, there are some other small shops within the same building, which makes for a decent collection.
The environment is pretty good; it has an industrial design, but it doesn't look run-down. The room was small, but it matched the price. The first room we were given had a connecting door to the next room, so we asked to switch, and the front desk lady cheerfully changed it for us.
There's a gym with treadmills, bikes, ellipticals, and some strength training equipment. Not many people seemed to use the gym, but the environment was nice and air-conditioned. I worked out for an hour and felt great afterwards.

Edmondo BearUpon arrival the 2 contact details provided don't respond and it's really annoying and disappointing.
1 contact go into voicemail box and another will never pick up the call which somehow give you the impression of the host is not reliable(Attached conversation without reply)
The property manager or agent that host these property really need to be more professional.
The unit is full of new paintings and the smell cause lots of discomfort(Attached the toilet door with new paint)
The bidet or sprinkler is broken and the water is scattered around and cause our clothes and toilet paper all wet!!!(Attached photo broken bidet)
They don't install ventilation fan on the toilet and when you open the window for air circulation your neighbors could see you.Their intentions is very clear which is they don't bother the comfort of the guest(Attached photo of when open up the toilet window for ventilation the upper floor could see through hence no privacy while shower. You shower with window close and its felt suffocating after a while!!!)
As Ipoh is famous for eateries to our surprise when we packed our supper home the utensils is really disappointing. The host barely provides you any plates and utensils.Maybe just 4 cups 4 plates as if anything extra will cause them a million dollars investment. You can't find extra waste plastic bags or toilet paper. They simply being too calculative and don't provide any extra even you are using it to keep their unit clean at least if you provide me with extra waste plastic bags we could pack our waste and keep it clean and hygiene instead.
Each room only 2 towels for shower and no pools towel
provided.Very inconsiderate!!!
The worst part is they will sent you a check out instructions 6am in the morning to wake you up!!!
If you having a peak booking on our check out date you may sent a reminder for checkout but please not at 6am in the morning !!!
I think Trip.Com should check on your agent quality and set a minimum standards. The property host is really disappointed we don't have time to waste so we just put up with it and write a review after check out.

Khairul A. HabibThe curtains were not thick enough, allowing sunlight to stream in and making the room feel hot. The café staff member behaved rudely, accusing us of not paying for breakfast without checking first. The staff member did not apologize after we showed proof that our booking included breakfast, and simply walked away with an unpleasant expression.

Anonymous UserWorth the price you pay! Great location, just beside the highway. Everything is clean, aircond was functioning well, the room is nice. It’s just that the small fridge is not functioning and the water pressure is kinda slow. But I don’t really mind. The front desk was also nice. I will reconsider staying at this hotel again for a short staycation.

Daniel WSLOverall Rating: ★★★☆☆
The apartment's biggest advantage is its excellent location. There are plenty of restaurants, cafés, convenience stores, and shopping options within walking distance, making it very convenient for families and larger groups. The host was responsive and replied promptly when we raised issues during our stay.
Unfortunately, the cleanliness and maintenance of the property fell well below our expectations. We encountered ants throughout the apartment—including the living room, sofa, dining area, kitchen, bedrooms, and bathrooms—which made it difficult to enjoy our stay. Although the host provided insect spray after we reported the issue, the infestation was so widespread that spraying the entire apartment was neither practical nor a comfortable solution.
Several areas were dusty, the curtains had a noticeable layer of dust, and the bedsheets and toilet rolls appeared old. We were also charged RM60 for an extra bedsheet for two nights, but the condition of the bedding did not justify the additional fee. The sofa showed signs of wear, and one of the ceiling fans was noisy during operation.
For larger groups, please note that when someone showers upstairs, the downstairs bathroom cannot be used properly due to water pressure issues. We were informed that this affects every unit in the building, suggesting it is a known issue rather than an isolated incident.
The facilities were also disappointing. The jacuzzi was unavailable during our stay and appeared to be non-functional, making it more decorative than usable.
The host initially agreed to compensate us for the cleaning fee due to the cleanliness issues, but we did not receive any further update after that.
Overall, the apartment has great potential because of its strategic location, but significant improvements in cleanliness, pest control, maintenance, and facility upkeep are needed before I could recommend it to others.
Pros
Excellent location with many restaurants, cafés, and shops nearby.
Responsive communication from the host.
Cons
Widespread ant infestation throughout the apartment.
Dusty environment, including dusty curtains.
Old bedsheets, worn furniture, and additional bedding charges that did not reflect the quality provided.
Noisy ceiling fan.
Water pressure issue prevents simultaneous use of upstairs and downstairs bathrooms.
Jacuzzi was not usable, just a decoration.
Compensation for the cleaning issue was promised but never followed up.
