The hotel is clean, affordable, and fully equipped with kitchenware, a washing machine, detergent, and a hairdryer. It's quiet and a bit far from the station. Self check-in was private and hassle-free. I liked it very much and will definitely stay there again.

The front desk staff was so friendly, turns out she was from Dalian, Northeast China! Her service was excellent, and she even recommended a fantastic skewers restaurant. Hearing her accent instantly made us feel at home.
The location is pretty convenient, with Life Supermarket and Kizuna Market nearby.
They allowed us, two adults and two children, to stay in a double room (which other hotels in Japan usually don't permit). There aren't many extra amenities like coffee or water, but it was perfect for us as we just needed a clean place with a good location to sleep for the night, since we were out exploring all day anyway. The only downside is the 10 AM check-out, but it would be fine if you're booking for consecutive nights so you don't have to worry about changing rooms.

I specifically chose this hotel for the ARASHI concert in Osaka. The location is truly excellent. Osaka OCAT is right below the hotel, offering buses to Osaka's two major airports, Tottori, Tokushima, Takamatsu, and more. It's about a 50-minute ride to Kansai Airport. The hotel's basement has JR, Osaka Metro, and Hanshin lines. It's a 10-minute walk to Namba Takashimaya Department Store and the surrounding shopping streets, and a 15-minute walk to Shinsaibashi Daimaru Department Store. There are many restaurants in the hotel's underground mall, and a supermarket on the first floor of the adjacent building where you can shop and get tax refunds.
The hotel lobby and restaurant have a Western classical decor, and there's even a small chapel. I saw a wedding taking place there on the day I checked in. However, the room decor is a bit old and simple; the single room size isn't small for a Japanese hotel. The hotel lobby is on the 22nd floor, and guest rooms are from the 24th to 31st floors. Each floor entrance requires a room card to access the corridor, which is a good security feature. My room was on the 29th floor, with an average view – facing another guest room. On a side note, the sheer curtains in the room are very transparent. If you have the lights on at night with only the sheer curtains drawn, people in the opposite rooms can see inside, as I unintentionally experienced myself 😅.
The hotel breakfast offers a rich variety and excellent quality, including Japanese and Western dishes, desserts, ice cream, and fruits, even watermelon and cherries. The breakfast restaurant on the 23rd floor has an excellent view; the last two photos are taken from there.
My only dissatisfaction during this stay was the hotel's service. Most guests at the hotel were Caucasian, with some Koreans and people from Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan. It was noticeable how enthusiastic the hotel staff were towards Caucasian guests, and how indifferent they were towards Chinese guests. I wouldn't call it discrimination, but more of a perfunctory, by-the-book service. On the first day at breakfast, after scanning my room card, I was told my booking didn't include breakfast. I informed the staff that my reservation did include it; after a phone confirmation with the front desk, it was indeed included. To my surprise, the same issue occurred again on the second day. I'm unsure if the breakfast information wasn't entered into the system during check-in or what caused this recurring problem. Why wasn't the dining information updated after the first day's incident? Crucially, throughout both interactions, I didn't sense any apology from the hotel staff. However, the housekeeping staff were quite enthusiastic; they would actively greet me in the hallway and step aside to let me pass first.

I had the most pleasant stay at Meander Hotel and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Osaka! I was initially concerned about the size of the room, as I had heard that hotel rooms in Japan tend to be quite small. However, I was pleasantly surprised when we were able to comfortably open two suitcases at the same time in the room which was plenty of space for two people!
The hotel’s location was very convenient, making it easy to get around the city. The room was clean, cozy, and well-equipped, ensuring a comfortable stay. The highlight, though, was the amazing staff. They were so kind, helpful, and attentive to all our needs, making the stay even more enjoyable.
A special shout-out to Julia, who I discovered is a fellow Carat – what a fun surprise! It’s those little moments that really made the stay special.
I would absolutely stay at Meander again next time I'm in Osaka. Thanks for such a great experience!

Great value hotel with excellent transport access!
This hotel is a bit way off Umeda or Namba but these places or anywhere else in Osaka can easily be accessed in a matter of minutes because the Taisho MRT station is just across it, making travel to any part of the city super convenient!
You’d be greeted by a nice covered patio at the front, perfect while waiting for your Uber ride if you ever needed one, or just to spend some quiet time. You can also use their lobby where you can find a drinking station (coffee, tea, anyone?)
Rooms are pretty spacious in Japan standards, though all amenities can be had at the reception. The toilet & bathroom were decent & clean albeit a bit cramped. Of course, they use those amazing Japanese toilets! It also has a public bathroom, but I fell the public bath in capsule hotels are much better. A microwave is available in each floor.
As mentioned, location is probably the best selling point of this hotel. Just across is the Taisho MRT, a few stops away is Umeda through the Osaka Loop Line, while Namba is a few minutes away with the Hanshin-Namba Line or the Nagahoritsurumi Ryokuchi Line. Bus stop is also very near. There are convenience stores, restaurants, and izakayas nearby.
I wish I was able to try their breakfast but I had to try breakfast recommendations elsewhere.
This is a strong 4/5 for me. Would stay here again if I’m in Osaka, it is highly recommended if you’re hitting Universal Studios Japan, Osaka Aquarium, and Expo 2025 Osaka!

If you’re a solo traveller and don’t mind a few scratches on the wall, this hotel is perfect for you. It’s very convenient—just a 5-minute walk to the lift down to the MRT station. The bed and room are surprisingly big and comfortable for Osaka standards.
Also, the neighbourhood is quite lively and welcoming, with some interesting spots nearby if you’re looking to explore the local scene in the evening 😉

KKIM SEOKDOM VLOGSThis is my 2nd time stay here, but 1st time booking via trip. Com, I stayed for like 5 nights last April 2026, it was all good, everything was clean from the toilet and capsule, you have enough space, you can also eat in the common area lobby, theres a free drinking water in the reception, theres a lawson near crossing and a famous ramen shop 2 blocks away even have lines at midnight haha, near to don quijote, leave luggage after checkout is free, thank you arigato acrooo til next time, so near to dotonbori arc and famous glico man sign
LLanjingdewanghouFacilities: All the basics are covered, and they even provide a small stool in the bathroom, which is a thoughtful touch.
Hygiene: Extremely clean and tidy. The wet and dry areas in the bathroom are well-separated.
Environment: Right outside is Universal Studios and the JR station, making it super convenient to get around.
Service: Warm and patient. Even with a language barrier, communication was effortless. I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit.
XXiaoniunaimamaThis was our second time bringing the kids to Universal Studios Japan for two days, and we booked this hotel. The location is excellent and super easy to find – it's right on the right-hand side when you exit the Universal City Station. It’s also very convenient for getting to Universal Studios. The breakfast was decent; I had rice and vegetables every day.
ちちなみI've stayed at various Koko hotels many times, and they generally offer good value for money. Hotels around Namba Station in a similar price range are either too old or too far from the subway. This Sennichimae location is excellent!
Coming from Kobe on the Hanshin Electric Railway, exit at the west exit. You'll come up into the 'Walk' underground mall. Walk along the right side of the underground mall and look for exit B30 (pictured in photo five). Next to it is a small cafe with a bear painted on the wall 🐻. After climbing the stairs, you'll see a 7-Eleven, and right next door is the hotel. (Be aware that several exits in this area are all stairs, I didn't see any with elevators, so if you have large luggage, it might be a bit strenuous).
The room size is relatively small. You can open one 26-inch suitcase, but two would probably be difficult! The hotel is quite new, and toiletries can be picked up from the lobby on the first floor. The hairdryer is still not very good, unfortunately. Check-in was very convenient with a Chinese-speaking staff member.
There are plenty of dining options in the shopping street downstairs, as well as general stores and cosmetics shops. Plus, you can walk directly to Namba Station underground, which is really convenient.
PPAPI MARKLively Osaka was very cozy & very friendly staffs who all spoke decent English. Their hospitality was definitely one of the best I’ve been to in 🇯🇵 also a good size room for BIZ traveller (wish they offered 1 King instead of 2 twins). Bfast was acceptable but if u stay more then few nights might get tired of them since it’s the same daily! Overall was a nice experience & will for sure try their sister hotel chains in other cities!
GGuest UserI stayed at FL Hotel Dotonbori for two nights. When I arrived at Osaka Station, I was happy that the hotel was within walking distance, so getting there was very easy.
The hotel is located slightly behind the main Dotonbori area, but it’s still close enough to walk to all the main attractions. The location is definitely convenient.
When you enter the hotel, the amenities are placed in front of the reception, so you need to pick up whatever you need from the lobby before going up to your room. They provide pajamas, slippers, and other basic amenities.
One nice thing is that they offer free breakfast every morning. It’s simple, just two pieces of bread per person and hot drinks, but it’s still a nice touch. Everything is set up in front of the reception, and you can take it back to your room.
For me, there were a few downsides. I noticed a suspicious stain on the blanket on my bed. It wasn’t on the bedsheet itself, but on the blanket, which made me feel like housekeeping may have overlooked it.
The room size is about average for Japan. I was able to fit three large suitcases in the room, but there wasn’t much walking space, so I had to step around them.
Another issue is that the rooms are not very soundproof. Unfortunately, during my stay, my neighbors were quite loud at night, so that affected my sleep
GGuest UserI arrived at 2:30 PM, but early check-in wasn't available. Still, I appreciated being able to store my luggage! I'm not sure about the exact capacity of the place I booked, but it seemed to accommodate about 20 people. There wasn't a dedicated spot for suitcases; instead, you'd use a lock and key provided at check-in to secure your bags. I liked that there were individual shoe compartments! Most importantly, the free drinks in the common area were a great bonus, and I made good use of them. The cleanliness was also impressive! Although it was a shared bathroom, the showers were individual stalls, and they were well-equipped with shampoo, conditioner, body wash, a hairdryer, and even a hair straightener. Towels, however, needed to be rented.
The bed assignment was given at check-in. The main issue was that the curtain for my bunk was half mesh, and even at night, the lights didn't turn off, making it hard to get a good night's sleep. I could hear everything, and it was too bright. That was my biggest disappointment.
Despite that, the other facilities were good, and I had a pleasant one-night stay!
AAnonymous UserComing from Kansai Airport, you do have to transfer a few times on the subway. However, the hotel is very close to Juso Station, about a 6-7 minute walk. Juso Station has a food street, so dining is super convenient! It's not crowded around at night, so sleeping is very, very quiet! There's a convenience store at the intersection, and Don Quijote is just across the main road! There's also Daikoku Drugstore nearby! Although breakfast is simple, it changes a bit every day, which shows a lot of thought. You'll definitely be full and satisfied! The lobby also has vending machines with beer, drinks, and ice cream! All your normal needs can be met here! Personally, I think even though the location is a little out of the way, it makes up for it in value for money, and transferring subways is still very convenient~
KKanguowangdeyunThe room was clean and tidy, and the front desk staff were very friendly and welcoming. Although check-in at 3 PM was a bit late, it was great that they had luggage storage. The location is super convenient – it's just a 5-minute walk to the hotel from Shinsaibashi Exit 5. It's really easy to go shopping or access the subway from here. I've stayed here several times already.
