I came for a concert, and the hotel is right behind Niterra, so it was super convenient to just step out. It's also very close to Kanayama Station, which made shopping and getting to the airport easy. For Japan, the room size was decent and had all the necessary amenities. The lobby offered free coffee, and they even thoughtfully wrote a message for concert-goers.

I can only say that the price we paid when booking 2 months in advance was somewhat justified for this hotel. The exterior looks decent, but the inside is very old and worn. My biggest complaint is about the escalator. Since the front desk is on the second floor and we arrived around 2 PM, the escalator was only going down 😓. There were stairs next to it, but our luggage was too heavy for us girls to carry up. After searching for a long time, we found that if you want to use the elevator, you have to go through the main entrance, then turn left and follow a 'secret' path. There's a button 🔘 at the entrance; press it to let the front desk know you're checking in, and they'll open the door! However, when we came back in the evening, the escalator was going up 😓. Maybe we just arrived at the wrong time! Service: The female receptionist's attitude was mediocre, no smile, and she seemed rather unenthusiastic. She felt a bit stern! Facilities: The hot springs ♨️ on the third floor downstairs are quite nice and seem to have been renovated recently. They feel out of place with the old, worn-out hotel! The room facilities themselves are quite complete, but the soundproofing is a bit poor!

The location right next to Kanayama Station is super convenient for getting around (I prefer it over Nagoya Station and Sakae). However, because of the single-pane windows, even on the 18th floor, you can still hear the train. Luckily, the noise level stays under 40 decibels, so it won't wake you up. There's also a shuttle bus nearby that goes to the Aeon Atsuta store. From the window, you can see an Aeon store, distant snow-capped mountains, and a little figure holding an umbrella on the roof of the building opposite. The twin beds can be pushed together, but there's a bunch of wires and equipment under the nightstand that prevents it from moving completely. This leaves a gap of about 20cm between the bed and the wall at the head, which is fine for a family of three to sleep comfortably. The mattress is a Simmons, and it's quite comfortable to sleep on, though the pillows are a bit too narrow. The bathroom looks a little older than it actually is, but it's perfectly functional.

Right in the heart of Nagoya's Sakae district, this hotel offers fantastic value for the price. The room was exceptionally clean, and the front desk service was excellent. If you're on a budget, I highly recommend it. Of course, don't expect a five-star experience. Its proximity to dining, shopping, and transportation is incredibly convenient, which I absolutely loved. This time, for my stay in Nagoya, I chose the Toyoko Inn Nagoya Kanayama, and overall, my experience was incredibly satisfying. The hotel's location is super convenient, just a few minutes' walk from the station, making it easy to get to downtown Nagoya for sightseeing or to Centrair (Chubu Centrair International Airport). The surrounding area also has great amenities, with convenience stores and restaurants aplenty, which is a thoughtful location for travelers. The room, while not large, was very clean and tidy. The moment I walked in, I could feel the usual Japanese hotel sense of freshness and order. The bed was soft and comfortable, and the pillow height was just right, allowing me to sleep soundly until morning. Although the bathroom was compact, it was fully equipped; the hot water came quickly, and the water pressure was stable, making showers even more comfortable than at home. What pleasantly surprised me was that they offer free breakfast! Although it's a buffet, there's a good variety, from rice balls, miso soup, sausages, and salad to coffee – everything you need, and the taste was quite good too. Especially that warm bowl of miso soup; having a sip in the morning instantly gave me that 'I'm ready to tackle today!' feeling (laughs). The staff were also excellent, always smiling, patient, and thorough whether I was checking in or asking for directions, giving a real sense of being welcomed. The overall value for money is very high, and I highly recommend it for both business trips and leisure travel. In summary, the Toyoko Inn Nagoya Kanayama is a great hotel that offers a reassuring stay, satisfying food, and a good night's sleep. If I had to give a score, I wouldn't hesitate to give it full marks, and I'd secretly add a 'visit again' praise in my mind.

Free Parking is definitely a plus point (great for those planning for self-drive trip to Nagoya), My kids definitely love free SODA drinks, free WIFI, free VOD movies. Coin Laundry is within walking distance (100m) from Hotel OSU is only 5-10 mins drive away, and there is a supermarket nearby where we could get fresh fruits.

Good: 1) The hotel has a parking lot available and offered at a very bargaining price. 2) The staff were friendly and helpful. Bad: 1) The room temperature is managed centrally, so it was set as heater during our stay at about 25 degree Celsius. It was too hot but can’t be changed. 2) The public bath area was a bit small with only 2 shower slots. The third guest needs to wait before entering the bath. 😳

I appreciate the thoughtfulness of receiving an email as soon as I make a reservation. It's very affordable, even though it's less than a 10-minute walk from Kanayama Station. However, the facilities are commensurate with the price, and it's undeniable that the bath is extremely small and the walls are thin. If it's cheap and suits your travel needs, it's a good choice.

Although this room wasn't as big as the one we booked previously, it had everything we needed in a compact space. The location was super convenient too. Since we drove, the front desk gave us a 500 yen parking voucher daily, which covered part of the parking fee. It works for three nearby parking lots, so just make sure you park in the right one – that was a pleasant surprise! Also, remember to book the salt bath and sauna in advance. Plus, there's a shopping street right nearby, making it easy to grab a bite.
